Why the f*ck would Sabbath get hate in here? And Iommi already squashed that news earlier today anyways. Winter and Pelican day after tomorrow, so excited. Into Darkness is one of the best slabs of doom you're likely to hear.

I was referring to S L A Y E R as one of those bands where you either know something about them, or like at least one or more songs, shall we say, then you can have your metal BADGE returned! haha

The idea that the Satanism message is just a fascade?! That's been proven as far back as Iron Maiden in the late 70s and Venom circa 81 or so

I cannot see how Slayers music is 'fake'. It's just music, it sounds good, you like it. No need to go into detail unless you listen to a band because of what they sing about, which IMO you may as well go on a forum and start reading peoples opinions. Just because they sing about Satan, you cannot say the appeal to a 'durrhurr' crowd. I also doubt they make money primarily from singing about Satan, you must be ridiculous if you listen to Slayer just for that.

Remember when they released their last sh*tstain of an album on 6-6-06? Or have they churned out another uninspired wheezy old thing?

Dave Lombardo should just play with Tomahawk instead.

I saw Dave Lombardo outside of Slayer, the more punk inspired band I guess, that was a long time ago, but I did buy the Big 4 DVD / BluRay, and I think everyone should own it personally! haha It's at a good price for all that music in HD

I love SABBATH, Like SABBAT as well, but that's another story! haha

I thought Bill Ward would be a no-show for any reunion, he's been dead set against coming back for some time, it's like hoping for a Pink Floyd reunion, nothing at all to do with the fans but the various members.

I wouldn't even have hoped for one, as with Never Say Die in 1978, the band were at each other's throats, but the album is still amazing and fabulous so fans never complain about it, but the band was not working at that point, so to speak, and they split, for Ozzy, it nearly turned suicidal, this is no joke!!

You know life is good when your rocking out to Winter and you look over, and Greg Anderson is rocking out just as hard.

That's f*cking awesome. I'm hella green man, glad you had a great time.

We're going to be booking some gigs with Beneath Oblivion and Valley of the Sun soon - they're pretty big locally and they've been touring a lot recently. I think you guys would dig both - Beneath Oblivion is some hatefully crushing sludgy doom, and Valley of the Sun is basically Kyuss 2.0, but they f*cking rule at it. Super stoked.

Not strictly "metal", but I thought I'd mention it as I'm sure many of you are fans.

Primus' new album is released next month but I've had a sneaky listen. I've already bought it through pre-ordering so I'm not bothered. Just wondering if anyone was looking forward to it, or even caught them live on their tour? I saw them here in Manchester about 4 weeks ago and it was fantastic, the new album has an amazing sound to it, reminds me a lot of Frizzle Fry and Tales From The Punchbowl.

You would think they never broke up for 20 years, they were so f*cking on fire. Noothgrush and Pelican were awesome as well. And I just finished having a listen to the new Primus. No doubt it in mind, best thing since their old stuff, totally solid front to back. And I saw them last September, awesome show.

I don't think most of those bands toured near me, that I remember, anyway, Watching video I made of live performances just makes me want to make a new video! I love shooting bands and I'd do that for a job!

I don't think I'm an expert by any means, but it is a lot of fun shooting a rock or metal show to archive

Killer Dwarfs, case you don't remember them, 1980s metal, they have a VEVO channel as well

Moonshield, Groovy, I dedicate this one to you, and of course, all metalheads every-where

I have to admit, don't think Sheryl Crow is a bad musical artist! haha

I got to see Kyuss Lives a few days ago. It was pretty awesome.

Valley of the sun? Hmm "Welcome to Sky Valley" plus "Blues for the Red Sun". I think I need to check this out.

At one gig I was set to film, not the only time, I think it was the same bill another big band was set to play a rather localized metal set, Disturbed was probably on the bill, but if you know anything about First Avenue nightclub, Prince/Purple Rain one, (for those living over-seas) There's the Main Room big stage, and a walk past the counter and second entry door, there's the small stage known as the 7th Street Entry, You get RIGHT up close to all the bands playing live there and it doesn't get anymore intimate a live setting then that! haha, I remember Kyuss were supposed to play among the other bands and I'd just discovered them. I was able to record video, but they canceled!!

DAMN luck

How about this EP Revolusongs? Cool title from earlier, 2003 thereabouts....

We're starting to record our first full length tonight, and it'll be slated for an early fall release. Late September/early October abouts.

I CANNOT F*CKIN' WAIT for this album. I've loved these guys since they debuted. They're nice guys also, I've had a few chats here and there. They keep blowing sh*t up.

I know some people don't like them. But man, I think they're great.

Some people think Sabbat is a joke, but I don't. I like what's unique about them, again, not everyone can interpret music the same, just Sayin'

Here's to hoping another band doesn't STEAL your name and get a big label with lawyers to defend it (Warner Brothers comes to mind!) haha

Great finger tapping in 7/7, guitar lead at 1:09 and a dreamy down tempo bridge at 3:59, then they get right back into it.

EDIT: Direct

{@Moonshield, RE: the movie still topic earlier (warn log msg), I voted on CrossRoads relative to when it was posted, sure I was bested, but Gronf called foul on my prior posting without playing the "game" .. I hope you warned him about that, and use my still as basis enough to be a valid entry to 'the game'. My intent was to use the thread as intended.

Not to be a jackass}

=========================================================

Anyway, S.O.D. is one of the best THRASH bands of all time, and I think it's time to start the MOSH!

SGT SLAM is COMING and your on his (sh*t) list! Or is that Black List?!? (OVERKILL)

Earlier ^^ someone reminded me, another tale from the road, when the original Disturbed (Earl Root - guitarist and original member, who I've known for years, I considered him a good friend I'll never forget, so I mention him always in passing) ...toured the Midwest metal music scene here.

Earl was in the practice of handing out demo or flyers, getting publicity and at times other band members heard from him or someone about not doing ENOUGH promo for their cause, but all in all, it was good fun. I got to join them on THE road trip to Metalfest in WI. Went over this before, but Demolition Hammer was one of those bands joining the ORIGINAL Disturbed on tour dates in the area, They played with the original Pantera and Sepultura, and Pestilence, for God's sakes. This is Metal, Gentleman and Ladies!

One of the classic Disturbed t-shirt designs was that of Lon Chaney and he was handing out Swag for the band along with demos, I believe of press I collected, it got from me to Earl Root and then vanished in his great collection of things at home, a photo of someone from the band wearing their t-shirt in a live photograph in the ROCK PRESS, that's one of those moments you don't forget! haha Unfortunately I didn't get to preserve it because Earl passed in 2008 and I never recovered tapes or magazines I lent him when he was alive, though one night he attempted to find things for me, it didn't happen, sadly

Thrash, Grindcore, Heavy Metal, Death Metal, Gothic, etc.... I like a large, large chunk of that genre/s

Just heard the new Opeth. A lot of people are gonna hate probably or at least be disappointed but I really enjoy it so far. It gets better as it progresses. Very jazzy and and 70's prog. Don't go into this expecting heavy riffs or death growls especially, there are none to be found in this. If you loved Damnation you'll probably dig this.

Heard it with a friend today, I only liked Heritage and The Devil's Orchard and Marrow of the Earth.

I wish The Devil's Orchard solo was longer...
