Big Biz and Torche kicked so much ass last night. Everyone was having such a good time, totally showed. Oh, and jared jumped into the crowd and I got to shout sh*t into the microphone a long with a bunch of other people, few of the people from the other bands came on stage too, stagedived and other assorted antics. Now just 2 weeks until Winter cave in my god damn face.

I think I ought to start listening to more bands instead of the generic ones like Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer, whom I currently listen to now. Public Enemy No. 1 sounds pretty awesome. Anyway, I think this sounds better than the album version of the song:

On Friday I popped up to the O2 in London with some friends to see Iron Maiden for one of their final two concerts in the tour. They were even better than when I saw them play at Sonisphere last year. Enjoy:

My Sentiments exactly...(HAHA)

Oh, does this ^ take me back to the best Heavy Metal experiences I can remember, the late 80s really seemed to be the pinnacle time with vintage and modern Death Metal converging

I'd be remiss to not shed light on more female vocalist metal. DCL just doesn't get any cred these days, but they were good enough for the 88 Hack O Lantern! hahaha

Speaking of Darkthrone, somewhere in this crowd is me; Wacken Open Air 2004, Nocturno Culto with Satyricon. One of the most exhilarating nights of my life!

Must've been awesome. I've always wanted to go to Wacken, and more recently, Roadburn. Some dudes I know in a regional band, Gates of Slumber, played out there. Really jealous talking to them afterwards, so many excellent bands played there.

I'm seeing WITTR soon with Thou and Beneath Oblivion, and my band just got added to the bill to play with Lo-Pan and Beneath Oblivion later next month!!

Ordered my Opeth tickets now I'm ready to rock. So many good shows coming up in the coming months. Opeth, BTBAM with Dillinger Escape Plan and Animals as Leaders, Boris and now announced today Black Dahlia Murder and f*cking Cannabis Corpse. All Shall Perish is playing in that line up too but I don't even care. BDM and CC is enough to get me to go.

Oh man, this year's lineup for Roadburn was insane, can say the same for next year's maryland Deathfest. I'm thinking of seeing WITTR again this year, I think the show they're doing here is one of the ones they're gonna do out in the forest.

Holy sh*t, when are they doing that? I'm planning a trip out there soon, and I would totally f*cking go to that.

So yeah, new WITTR is streaming on NPR's website. Listen here, and read an interview with Nathan: http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2011/08/...g-processional#

Well, just finding it on NPR is kinda shocking. National Public Radio, who I've mentioned part of the Public Radio network that KFAI in the States belong to and are included in the smaller channels over the air that require money to operate from Federal Grants. Support your local METAL station, kids! They're doin' it for YOU!

Except when there isn't a local metal station. The rock stations around here are complete bullsh*t, and my radio class I took in high school plays nothing but indie now. Honestly, I'm not all that surprised it's on NPR, Wolves has generally garnished support from non-metal outlets that appreciate simply good music, which NPR is definitely one those.

Anyone know of any radio stations in England that ever play metal? As a note, I live in Surrey so we get all the London radio stations clearly. XFM (104.9) sometimes plays rock but most of the time it's alternative. I guess metal isn't in mainstream music anymore, which totally sucks ass.

sh*t, it's august 28th that they'd be doing that. I'll be on the other side of the state by then, lol. Ohh well, they'll be in Tacoma in october though, hope it doesn't interfere with the Gwar/Ghoul show I'll be at around then.

Well I'll get back to posting metal:

I haven't seen many Slayer fans around, is anyone here a Slayer fan? Or does anyone even remotely like Slayer?

You have to be, to be a metal-head. Those who don't get what Slayer is about at the very least, can SHOVE OFF, you are NOT METAL!!! That's that

As for my taste, yeah, I'm just so content with Old School and still miss it, that I don't just sit and talk of new acts, or like others here, bands not everyone knows. That's a small sphere of metal music, actually...What you see here ^^ Not saying it's not good, but we should be covering everything that's metal and hard rock music. Them's the facts, Jack

If you have to be a fan of Slayer to be a metalhead, then I'll admit I'm not a f*cking metalhead, and be proud of it. Slayer's early releases were great pieces of thrash metal without a doubt, but they're more washed-up than Metallica and Dave Mustaine combined. They're old, fake Christian assholes that still sing about "Satan" because it makes them money. They are the epitome of what I hate in metal today.

EDIT: to add to my point. Whoops.

Quoted for truth. I've never really enjoyed US trash that much, with the exception of Overkill.

Now, Teutonic thrash, that's a completely different kettle of fish.

Bought a ticket to see Fozzy the other day. I'm probably more of a Jericho fan than a Fozzy fun but it's gonna be f*cking awesome nonetheless. Especially if they pull out their old Balls to the Wall cover. Just got to get my Opeth ticket and November will be AWEEESOME.

Kind of agree with you about Slayer Moonshield. They have a handful of songs I still really like but, having seen them live at Sonisphere, I probably wouldn't even put them in my top 5 bands of the weekend.

The whole turn on Dancing with the Stars was TOO Dang Strange, though.

@MS, I think you're coming down biased on Christianity and Metal music, Stryper still kick it and my friend loves the band, he also happens to LOVE King Diamond, so let's not crucify the Christians. METAL is for everyone, man!

Haha, I never saw that to be honest. I don't even watch the English version. But f*ck it, it's Jericho, if he wants to dress up like a tit and do some dancing, who are we to question his superior wisdom? tounge.gif

It has nothing to do with the fact that they're Christians, but rather everything to do with the fact that they're practicing Christians and market themselves as some sort of "Satanists". They're phonies pandering to the "durhurrr hail Satan!!" crowd. That isn't metal, it's f*cking fake. And Stryper blows.

Chuck Schuldiner was a converted Christian and I have no problem saying Death may very well have been one of the greatest death metal bands to ever record. And Believer f*cking rules.

Seems you take the message personally, it's more about the music to me. Deicide I like from the early days because they were LESS SatanCentric, but still an alright band.

Styper is not much different then the band TNT, and I can see why my friend likes them based on that, but everyone can chose what they like, That said... There are harder edged Christian metal bands, yeah. I don't wholly subscribe to just buying those records or CDs, as you likely know. I'd wear a Bathory t-shirt to Church, and when I had my Metal Church one, for sure that! haha

Anyway, That's just, like, your opinion, man! haha

I got some JUST uploaded Live from First Avenue "ballroom" Twin Cities, Minnesota, ROCKING YOU TO HELL, Grim Reaper

Now that is just "ace", check out the Twins baseball t-shirt! I saw them at the same club and could have been this show for all I know

So it's official now anyway, Sabbath are reforming with the original lineup.

Will probably get their fair share of hate in this topic but I for one am fooking chuffed. Willing to give a limb to see them live.
