Sounds just like a Killswitch Engage song minus the fast parts.

For the most part, that was pretty good. The Vader-esque thing they were doing right when the vocals came in, and the slam riffs they threw in there I wasn't too keen on (sounds like a lot of those Vader/Morbid Angel ripoff deathbore bands that do nothing but that regurgitated bullsh*t), but I was really digging the rest of it. They Norwegian?

They're Danish smile.gif My friend plays the drums!

Gah, sh*t. Sorry, the Norwegian flag has the blue line inside the white in the cross. Your guys' flags are like Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck.

Soooooo who's going to Roadburn? I'm saving up for it.

This is the thrash band I played drums in up until recently-- http://www.myspace.com/toxicwrath. The recordings are only of guitar & drums; we wrote lyrics but never had a proper singer. They're rough recordings, so there's bound to be a few mess-ups in each song up there. If I had to choose a personal favorite, it'd probably have to be "Power Shift" or the song titled "Mayan" (no appropriate title was given, but the lyrics would have been about the Maya Collapse).

Just some show & tell.

You guys ever notice how the riff in the Metallic song Four Horsemen sounds like horses stomping running and like doing that horse scream that they do. You know like that horse scream when they go crazy or something? I like when the guitar sounds like what the song's about. That's the best. That's probably my favorite Metallica song. "Oh yeah yeah!" lol

Raining Blood is another one like that. The beginning when the guitar comes in sounds like thunder and lightning. Then it sounds like sheets and sheets of rain pouring like crazy. I love that. Dead Kennedys has a bunch of songs that do that. Like freakin Police Truck sounds like sirens and Funland At The Beach sounds like a rollercoaster.

Saw GWAR last night. f*cking radass. Lost my flannel and a shoe during Horror of Yig, which is what they opened with. Got covered in Sarah Palins innards, and Lady Gaga's tit blood. Total success.

Totally man, the entire song is f*cking awesome and is probably my favourite Metallica song as well! I f*cking love the riff that comes in at 2:37; I don't know why but it's my favourite riff of all time.

Another 'tallica song that has the guitar related to the song is One, when the fast-paced alt. picking is supposed to represent machine gun fire or something icon14.gif

How do you guys like Strapping Young Lad, or Devin Townsend as a whole? I got 'City' and I think it's pretty heavy.

@Starion: I have Dying Fetus' Discography and I don't seem to have that song... f*ckin Baddass Track \m/

^^^Strapping Young Lad are pretty good IMO, but I haven't really listened to them all that much... they DO have one of the best metal drummers in Gene Hoglan.

Speaking of Gene Hoglan, here's some newer Fear Factory.

Hey Moon, if your in the seattle area on the 30th or 31st of the month, Neurosis are play shows both days. The 3oth show has Black Breath and Wolves in the Throne Room opening, and the 3qst show has Yob and Brothers of the Sonic Cloth opening. I've already got my ticket for the show on the 30th.

I know, my buddy in my band and I were going to see them on the 30th, but he couldn't get off work. Instead, we got booked for a huge NYE party the 31st.

Dying Fetus eh? My brother played a show with them and Gorguts back when he had his hardcore band. My older brother was an angry barfighting hardcore badass. I remember during one of the songs, the guy from Dying Fetus ran into the women's bathroom for some reason. Those are the guys with the masks right?

Holy crap, I've listened all the songs on the new album multiple times but I only now, after watching that music video, noticed that Fear Campaign has a guitar solo wow.gif

That solo is pretty mediocre...

Hey, that reminds me of anything they've ever done!

Can any of you recommend some good stoner rock bands?

I recently discovered SLEEP, Dead Meadow, Acid King, Blue Cheer, etc...

Any other good ones out there?
