matthew1g
After using an imac, I've noticed this pc's audio quality is nowhere near that of the imac. I'm using the same in-earphones I've used on the imac too. They seemed to have a much, much higher volume than this and the sound quality was top notch. I know onboard HD7.1 is bad, but does being bad affect the volume too? I'm pretty sure it's not the earphones since I've played the same songs on the mac with these and they've been way louder. mind you this is connected to the front panel. Does that deteriorate the audio quality? I'm really curious about the volume part. increasing the volume from the drivers does give me louder sounds.. but the bass is horrible compared to the imac. Time to get a soundcard me thinks.. Edited August 22, 2008 by matthew1g
gtamodder
I have vista on a 500GB HDD now, and I have another 250GB HDD with XP on. The drivers on it matches the hardware in this PC, but I have connected it in. It boots into XP fine, but if I want to boot into Vista, I need to reboot and go into the BIOS and change some things there. I don't get any screen that says "Select an operating system to start". How would I get this screen?
matthew1g
As far as I know, you only get that when you have 2 os'es installed on one hard disk with two partitions.

Just install in on your primary drive and it will do the rest. Read instructions First! though is very easy to use. If you don't like it you can always un-install it. Supports all OS even Vista. gtamodder
Ok, I installed that, rebooted, and did what it said, but I am not getting a screen saying "Select an operating system to start". I tried re-installing it, but it still won't work. Any idea what the problem may be? Also, my friend wants to put XP on his computer, which is a Packard bell IStart D2391. It's a SATA hdd, I have looked all over for the SATA drivers for XP, but I can't find them anywhere. Can you make the HDD work in ATA mode for XP? Lt. Dan
Firefox Question. In the Google taskbar at the top right, some certain incriminating stuff that I've searched for pop up. I've tried to delete them via the control panel but that doesn't work .How do I delete them?
Kewfmwpj
Either right click anywhere on the taskbar and select delete content or if its the other taskbar (I have two?) click the tab that shows your search history and there is a clear history selection there. Edmachine
Write q in the search bar and hold delete. It will delete all entries made on Q. For me, at least. We will be the arms that lift you up We will be the hand that strike you down

poopskin
I need help with some 16x Blank DVD-Rs i bought...My DVD-RAM drive recognizes them as DVD-Rs, but it says "0 bytes free". it can't be scratched beyond use, as the most that's happened to it is that it's been jostled in it's case and i accidentally dropped it. Anyway, i suspect i may need updated drivers but when i check who manufactured my disk drive in MSINFO32, it just says... Manufacturer (standard CD-ROM drives) Even though it says "CD-ROM" it's a DVD-RAM drive...Where can i get drivers for it so it supports 16X discs? Found updates, but i still need to find out what model the drive is. Edited August 25, 2008 by poopskin
Ronnyboy
Did you try opening your case to see what it says on the outside of the drive? I have been having PSP problems lately, what format do pictures need to be recognized by the PSP?
gtamodder
Yesterday I bought a Radeon 4870 X2, the problem is it keeps overheating and the computer gets a bsod or shuts down by it's self. I haven't overclocked it, and it even happens when not playing a game. I turned up the fan control in RivaTuner, and it still does it. Any ideas how to fix it? Edmachine
How much money do you f*cking have? You buy something everyday! Anyways, I guess the only solution is to buy a new cooler. But, are you sure it's the videocard that's overheating? We will be the arms that lift you up We will be the hand that strike you down

But, are you sure it's the videocard that's overheating? I sold some parts (8800GTX, Core 2 Duo and lots of other expensive parts to buy a 4870X2, and other better parts). So about £3000 right now. I'll buy a new cooler and see if it works. I'm sure it must be the video card, because I had a look at the temp and it was too high.

Edmachine
My DVD Drive also reads blank DVD's as 0 bytes free. Nothing to worry about. However, it is weird, that it says 702 MB for CDs, but not 4,5 GB's for DVDs... Anyway, you got nothing to worry about. @gtamodder: Wouldn't be surprised, if you'd open a shop. Edmachine
If you use Nero, maybe you should use a special mode (the ones in the left sidebar)... I don't remember what I did select from there, when I did it. Starion
So, my dads just bought me a Factory Overclocked MSI 9800GTX off of Ebay for £125 as a part exam result present. (I payed half ) Does anyone think that this was a good buy? It was at least £30 cheaper than all the other 9800gtx's on ebay, and this is completely brand new too. I do hope it serves me well though. I'm not exactly a hardcore gamer, but I'm hoping this will run GTAIV and possibly a few other things; but nothing too intense. The rest of my PC is pretty good, so it should do okay. Edited August 27, 2008 by Starion mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno.

Superfly.
WTF?! The blue Windows taskbar which should be at the bottom just jumped to the right of the screen and is vertical. How do I fix this? Right click on it, make sure 'Lock the Taskbar is unchecked'. Click and hold where there is an open space on the blue part (where there isn't a window), and drag it towards the bottom of the screen. You should see an outline of the original when you get close. Release and lock the taskbar so it doesn't accidentally happen again.

Edmachine
Have you tried DVD-ISO? That might work... Can I use the Recovery console to fix my tcpip.sys file? It's giving me BSoDs (supposedly). I found my disc. Is there any chance it will want to format? Also, I want to clean my PC of useless games, software etc., but since I'm too lazy, I haven't done it.
