By uninstalling the modem, do you mean uninstalling the drivers? I'm a bit lost tounge.gif.

I know how I am asking a lot of questions, but I am not too sure on them tounge.gif

Ok, what sort of specs would you need to run Crysis on Very High graphics, with a resolution of 1440 x 900, or higher? I have 2gb RAM, 8800 GT, Q6600 2.4Ghz, With Vista And XP Pro Dual boot, but I can run high with a resolution of 1024 x 768, and get 30-40fps. I get about 10-15 on very high with 1440 x 900. What Would I need to change to run it that high?

You could get 2x 9800GTX in SLI (I don't know if it is SLI capable), a Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, 4GB DDR3 Memory, but that costs really much and wouldn't be really much use for anything else, unless you're into video editing or 3D Modeling.

I have 8800GT, Core 2 E6850 and 2GB RAM and Crysis doesn't lag on max settings (4xAA) @ 1280x1024. I use XP.

I am looking at revamping my network and internet connection as in my hardware, two reasons the modem my ISP gave me is dodgy and often disconnects and doesn't like Xbox Live but at the same time I want to finally give myself the option of wireless connections to things like my 360 and PSP.

Right now I've got a Dynalink RTA100+ Modem/Router connected to an old KTX network hub which then has my 360 and PC connected to it because my modem/router only has one Ethernet port. To cut down on devices and cables I obviously want to replace both bits with one thing that does it all. At first I spotted a D-Link Wireless Router but I've since realized with that I'd still need the modem I've already got and thus only solving half of my issue.

I take it then that you can get Wireless Routers with a ADSL modems built-in? And that would be what I need to look at?

You see, from the moment you only have the router and the modem, wires aren't really an issue. It's basically just the power cords, the telephone wire coming from the wall to the modem, and then a network wire going from the modem to the wireless router. End.

I had four computers wired together through an 8 port hub and sincerely, that wireless router was the most wonderful thing that I ever bought.

But I don't know about wireless ADSL modems. I don't think I heard of them, or at least I don't see people using one. You can always ask for the ISP to change that modem you got, I guess.

Sorry about that tounge.gif. Yeah, I meant uninstall the drivers completely and install the latest drivers.

Did that, but still no changes. Whenever I try to access the router, it says Waiting for 10.2.9.1... and later it shows a white page with http://10.9.2.1/ as the title.

My PC Keeps freezing still with the 8800 GT In, it may freeze/or screen turns pink. The Psu is a CoolerMaster 700W Real Power PSU, costed me £82.07. The card looks fine, And clean. It worked fine for a bit though. Although the wire on the card, is a little damaged, but I don't think that would be the problem though. I have 2gb DDR2 667mhz, Q6600 2.4Ghz, Windows Vista Ultimate with XP Pro (Dual Boot), happens in both vista and XP.

But When my PC starts, the Power on self test, I hear 5 beeps. I put my 7600 GT Instead, and it makes only 1 beep. Any ideas what could be causing it?

No proxies. And it doesn't work with IE.

@gtamodder: what BIOS do you have?

Never mind, fixed it. I noticed I left a 300W PSU In! tounge.gif. I thought I had the 700W In. I put that in, and it works now.

Isn't this what I need:

http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=1&pid=567

It combines a ADSL Modem, Wireless Access Point and a 4 port Ethernet hub.

I would just buy a wireless router but with my modem already having issues its just going to complicate things and not solve all my issues. Could I even do that though, given that my Modem is a dual Modem/Router?

Your modem is already a router? Either way, shouldn't matter, you'd need the wireless router still =)

That modem + wireless router looks pretty cool, as long as it works tounge.gif

If you wanna get rid of unnecessary devices then yeah, go ahead and buy it.

Well, I guess it's something to do with either your connection from the ISP or the router itself, I suggest trying out a different router if possible and if that doesn't work either, it's probably your connection.

Is there a way to choose a color profile for a specific program?

Windows Photo Gallery Viewer is showing the pictures with the wrong colors, like, it's too red.

This is going on since I got my new screen...

I new a new mobo for my other PC. It has a Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 @ 1.8 GHz, 1.5GB @ 667mhz, DDR2 RAM, nVidia Geforce 6800 Ultra. I need a new mobo for it, because I want to SLI 2 cards in it (PCI-E), And of course the rest of my hardware be compatible. What mobo would be best to get?

I recommend the Gigabyte GA-P35 series motherboards, rock solid and great performance. Not expensive either.

Specifically, get the Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6 motherboard as it's known to be very good at overclocking and is an all round good performer.

I really don't see the point of running two 6800 (even Ultras) in SLI though, if you got two 6800 Ultras lying about, just sell them both and aim for a 8800GT or 9600GT. Since the performance gained from SLI isn't a lot, there's no point to it.

Get atleast 2GB of RAM, it's the standard these days.

Do you have a Colour Temperature setting for you monitor or even a gamma correction, this could be to do with it.

Color temperature setting? Well, I always change them a bit but that's suppose to change the entire screen, not only this or that program =|

The gamma has 3 modes in the configs if I'm not mistaken. I chose the 3rd one, thought it looked better.

You know, I remember the first time I opened Photoshop CS3 after getting this monitor (and installing the drivers etc), it asked if I wanted to use a color profile that appeared to be corrupted. I said yes and it had the same effect as the one in Windows Photo Gallery Viewer, the screen is too red and has too much contrast. Then I managed to change the profile and now the colors are ok there. But Windows Photo Gallery Viewer doesn't give me any options to change the color profile, it just seems to have adopted that without even asking. And I don't know where to change that, don't even know if that's possible.

If you haven't emptied the Recycle Bin, then you could get it from there. If you have, I think there was a topic about recovering files around here...

I've heard Recuva is a good file recoverer.

Can someone help me? I really, really need to access my external HDD. It has my printers connected, though I can connect them to my PC if I need to, all my files AND my mom really needs the files there. Is it safe to connect the PC and the HDD together with a RJ-45 cable? The HDD hasn't got FireWire, if it did, this wouldn't really be a problem, but obviously it is. I tried resetting the router, but it hasn't worked. Different cables/LAN ports don't make a difference. Help?

Could someone please tell me what is the default D-Link DI-614+ workgroup name? I think it reset when I reset-ed the router. I really, really, really, abso-f*cking-lutely need to get to my external HDD. Somehow, plugging the cable between them didn't work.

Ok, thanks, I got that mobo, and I sold the 6800 Ultra, I have enough for an 8800 GT, I just ordered one.
