cactus.
edit: nevermind. Decided to not be lazy and found the answer from a few more tutorial videos. Laziness is a bitch. For anyone who may experience similar problems: I couldn't figure out how to assign functions to a ps3 controller after having installed GamePadCampion on mac. Solution: you can find the application in System Preferences and then open it to begin assigning keys/controls. Guest
Since I'm not 18 yet, I can't have a debit card, or make a paypal account. So, if I make a paypal account for my dad on his credit card, then link my savings account, can I then remove his credit card so only my savings account is used nothing else? Pat
Edit: Well, nevermind. I tried my headphones, and they still work, tried an old set of speakers and they worked fine, so I guess my speakers are dying. This sucks, I only paid forty bucks for them and they're really f*cking nice. Oh well. Anyone have any recommendations on speakers? Preferably with a sub; that's what I liked most about these. Things like this are hard to find for other people, since we probably don't live where you live, just visit a few tech stores and find a pair of speakers you really like. KilnerLUFC
Oh well. Anyone have any recommendations on speakers? Preferably with a sub; that's what I liked most about these. As a personal recomendation, I'd say go for these ones. They're from JBL, and part of their creature series. The sound clarity is amazing, even when full blast. Rhoda
To sum it up, I want to leech the internet signal my work's router provides. However, it's protected by a pre-shared key. 1. What is that, and is there any way of finding it out without rummaging through much? 2. Will they know if I've been using their signal?

The site is currently not loading for me, so just do a Google search. I had a set of those a while back. I recently treated myself to a set of these- Audioengine A2's As someone who owns £5k worth of AVI Hi-Fi equipment, I like to think of myself as a bit of an audiophile. I've never in my life heard a small set of speakers create such a "large speaker" sound. They're not cheap- £150-odd for the speakers and another £250 if you want the sub, but they come quite close to my £800-a-pop AVI speakers in terms of sound quality, and that's running the boggo standard cables. Crystal-clear sound quality, fantastic treble/midrange balance out of the box and very bass-y for speakers without a sub. Will go up to ear-splitting volumes without any real noticeable loss in quality, though they took about 12 hours mid-volume use for the drivers to bed in and for them to start sounding their best. And perhaps most surprisingly, they don't have that artificially bright, tinny or over-driven sound that most small speakers- including both the JBL ones posted above and the HK Soundsticks I had before- suffer quite badly from. Can't ever see myself using another set of PC speakers. Pat
Those sound amazing, sivi (in more ways than one, heh) and I'd be willing to drop the extra cash on them if it wasn't for the fact that I jumped the gun yet again; I started looking over my speakers and it turns out one of the cables was chewed up a bit (by one of my cats, most likely). Patched it up with some electrical tape and they're working fine once again. These are the speakers I'm using. I don't really know anything about Altec Lansing or what their reputation is, but I've never had any problems with them. I might still upgrade though; I'm dropping ~$800 to upgrade my PC after my temp job at Bridgestone, so I might as well spoil myself even further. knocker
I'd like to know if any of the Sandy Bridge's IGPs are enough to run GTA4. I've scoured on the 'net a bit, but so far I've only found some bizarre reviews of GTA4 on Sandy Bridge with übermaxshnizzly dedicated graphics.. The thing is, I'm looking for a laptop and would like to avoid any dedicated graphics processors (battery life + Linux), as GTA4 is going to be the most recent game I'll be running on it. I'm not looking for any performance or maximum graphics settings.
yoječ
I highly doubt so. Fastest SB IGP is more or less equal to GeForce GT210 in terms of permormance (which is one of the slowest graphics card you can buy today), and you also have to take poor drivers and compatibility problems into consideration. Pat
MSN keeps asking me to download a .swf file, does anyone know what's causing this? My first guess is a virus, but I hope dearly that they haven't evolved past tricking people into clicking links sent by bots. I'll write down the name of the website next time it pops up. Edit: Filename is 234x60_1f.swf, and the source is crtv.mate1.com. Did a Google search and didn't find jack sh*t. Anyone have any info on this? The controls are on the sub so you can't get a proper perspective sound setup, and the drivers are too dampened and don't cut it for treble. Now if you can find them, get the Logitech Z-4s for that money. Crisp audio, the most balanced set of budget-medium priced speakers I've ever owned. So yeah, looks like you got yourself some Flash-based ads trying to jump in via Messenger. If you must use it, I'd say best thing to do is uninstall it. Then go through your programs with something like CCleaner and get rid of any toolbars or emoticon packs (they're all full of adware and tracking cookies). Once thats done, download a fresh build of messenger and while you're at it, google the MessPatch (if thats still being made these days).

Crisp audio, the most balanced set of budget-medium priced speakers I've ever owned. They are pretty good I have to say- a mate of mine uses them on his system and they're great for the price. Still, having tried a massive number of different speakers in the search for the "right" ones, the Audioengine ones that I posted are, quite literally, the only PC speakers I'd consider. Custom kevlar drivers, neodynium magnets...lots of special stuff in them... d00d
I'd love to go for something like that, believe me . There isn't much I value more than being able to enjoy some crisp music, I've already gone all-out on my headphones. If it were up to me, I'd buy some Corsair SP2500s - they look damn sexy and pack a punch. But I'm having a hard time justifying £200 on speakers...maybe when my Logitech's die. I've had them for 4 years already. Maybe even more.

Xboxless
I'll ask it here. Basically, I remember hearing somewhere (possibly here) that over a certain amount of ram and XP won't even notice. We got this computer cheap from a military base and we are going to get it running. It comes with 512 MB's of ram (eww) and a 2 GB ram chip is only like 30 bucks. Anyways, so is their a limit? Xboxless
Thanks man! Ok, well I am a bit mindblown by the 128 GB for 64bit. Seriously? Is that much ram even needed, haha! Anyways, thanks again.
