CHILLI- Stop using blue glass, it looks like a lego car. Lol

anyways, I like the new lights and the rear details. The polys look messy all over the car but I guess its good practice eh? keep it up.

ah I see it's 50/50 about the rear lights. and Jason? what color should I use for the glass then? more black-ish look of it? I thought that the blue/green glass should give it a realistic look in the game. like it looks in VCS. well, it fits the game better when it isnt. so I guess I'll make then more black than blue/green. and about the old lights, I'm going to see how my other idea looks. it will have a bit of squares, and these round shapes on it. you will understand what I mean when I've done them. and about the polygons: I know they look messy. I just havent got the shape of some of them. or it could be the soften material thing that make it look wierd in the render. but they do look a bit strange when modeling, so, yea. I might just have to make more polys to make the model appear smoother in messy places. the roof is the best shaped part of the car atm. atleast in my opinion of the ride. just wait around 30min and I've been able to remodel the lights. it goes pretty quick actually. I remade the front lights of the buffalo in less than 1hour actually. so yea, this is my car and I know how the polys will act when moving them. so expect new lights pretty soon. smile.gif

the new rear lights, and now I'm going to give all circle shaped things a higher polycount.

Not bad, but i don't like that the light end in square. I made a little plan, what you think from this:

ROBERTO!!! you are the man! that design looks crazy! I might try it! biggrin.gif and I know exactly how to get the lights almost identical! do you mind if I might copy your picture and use it while modeling? and if any of you is thinking "wtf?! why did he model them?" well, because I've said a few times that I'm up to ideas what to have on my car. and roberto actually came up with something that I'm sure will fit the car after some resizing and hard work. thanx roberto! I'll try to make that right away! biggrin.gif

the car didnt look really "happy" with those rearlights. so I tried to change a few parts of it. and a wider middle line looks better imo. but that didnt work out really. I think that the car is more of a car with lights on the "outside" and not all over it. I think that porsches should have this sort of lights. but my car is way to flat on the back to have this imo. sorry roberto. I was so close to get something that has that little extra. but it just didnt have "it" to make it stay. and I'm not removing them because someone wanted such a big change. if you have any other ideas roberto, and ofcourse you others, please post them! I'm running out of ideas around here! sad.gif

but roberto! right when I thought the time was over for this car I got another idea that took a bit of your idea.

tada! I hope you're not sorry for not using the middle line of your lights. but I'm still using a bit of your idea. as you may see where biggrin.gif I was about to let the rear lights stay blank for now. but I didnt! I can get ideas out of nearly everything about cars. in this case, your picture. "a picture says more than a thousand words" and it sure did. look at the result! I love it!

it's something on the rear that still doesnt make it look finished. it's um... sort of... too empty in some way... I just can put my finger on what's wrong... it is like the car is too flat but still too much curves... damnit! I hate when I cant get the things looking the way I want! it's probably because I havent added textures yes that makes it.

>>WARNING<< I'm about to add textures to the side, front and rear! then some other parts in the way I can bother to make it! so post your ideas quick before I cant bother changing too much! I will post pictures of how far I've been doing.

not really "edit", but I missed something: I will texture:

* dirt

* underbody

* and probably the engine.

EDIT: how far the texturing have been going:

Looking better, the wheels a a bit wide set even for a sports car like this. Bring them in a bit closer to the body. -same with the fenders.

I don't know if you've ever driven a car before but those A-pillars would create an extremely bad blind spot.

x2 post because of this:

what do you think? is that a good A pillar? or does it need more metal around it?

Remove it and make it all window. Just tell them that it's lexan that's holding up the roof. The pillars kinda spoil it. Also clean up your model lines and textures.

sorry for doublepost guys, but I've pretty much finished my car. all I need now is someone to convert it for me. it's hierarchy is:

door_lf_ok/dam

door_rf_ok/dam

wing_lf_ok/dam

wing_rf_ok/dam

boot_ok/dam

bump_front_ok/dam

bump_rear_ok/dam

windshield_ok/dam

misc_a

misc_b

misc_c

misc_d

chassis_dummy (the body. what stays left after detaching ALL parts)

all I need to make now is a chassis_dummy_vlo and then it's ready for converting into DFF and TXD. so it will basicly be ready for converting in around... lets say... 30-40min. the vlo will be a slightly shaped box with just a few shapes. anyone that could help me to convert? I dont have/know anything about converting programs. I would'nt been asking here if I knew that H3N.H31N could help me. but I havent seen him online on msn for a long time. so if anybody else wants to help, please tell me. PM if you want. just press that letter looking thing in my posts.

Are you using Sketchup? Nice car you have there, are you planning any more detailed interior? I'm going to make a tutorial about this in the future..

ow f****** and some more ***** *** ** ** * ****... thanks for reminding me about the interior! sh*tsauce! I forgot to make the dashboard and streeringwheel! phew! luckely I havent sent this model to anyone for converting yet! well, puma? do you have msn? just wondering, because maybe you could help me with converting? although, you've done it before! your rolling WC room... whatever you call it. and I saw on your WIP pics that it was in sketchup. so, if you arent too busy with a big project (I know about the train and all that. but just in case you have some time over to help me with this? it is my first proper creation)

think about it: you're helping others, and while doing it, you're getting a model before it's in public. but I'm then asking you one other thing: do you know how to add materials that reflects the sun? I've seen on some of your other creations that they dont have a proper specular shading. just a plain model. well, it's a while before this thing is ready for converting. now when you reminded me about the interior detials. I will be doing it right away! thanks smile.gif

I'd suggest using some mesh to the rear to break it up a bit. Like most ferraris have.

Basically make the license plate cutout quite a lot bigger and put a mesh teture in there.

@ supra: well, when I saw your picture I thought that I might be able to make some sort of grill looking thing in the same height as the engine. like where the hot air goes out. I could try that biggrin.gif

@ roberto: I'm a texture modder too! that's how I started modding. first textures. then I met H3N.H31N and he helps with some converting. and now I'm making a car. it's nice to see that I finally can do something right! now I just hope that the car will work right in-game when/if it gets converted.

and about the car. I thought I was done. intil I read the post Supra did. I'll try to remove the A pillar between the doors and windshield. and add a grill on the back instead of my tiny square. also make a cut for the numperplate so I can make it a bit higher than it is now. I'll try and see what I can do. thanks for the ideas smile.gif and the texturing isnt such a pain in the ass I thought it should be. it's so damn easy in sketchup! so keep your idea coming peep! turn.gif

EDIT!: holyf*ck people! I've made it! thanks to supra this time! he really made me happy! and soon after reading this you will see why! supra, your idea about filling up the space with something really helped! my car looks really cool now! with a grill on the back and moved the lights a bit. so my update includes: some parts of robertos idea. and what supra told me I could do to the rear. just to fill up space so it doesnt look so empty.

@ roberto: your idea about the lights really came in handy this time! instead of a whole line of lights I made a grill of it. and then just used a small piece of the light bar and put that on the grill. so as the other lights. but I dont have the 3pack of yellow lights on. but I'm thinking of somewhere to put them. *just a millisecond after I said that* ON THE SPOILER! biggrin.gif I could make them small brake lights, but with the same design! what do you think roberto? then all of your idea comes in handy at points. you've been helping me a lot. even though the only thing you did was giving me a picture. here's a few pictures back:

Nice car, I've been lookin at it for ages as its progressed, awesome icon14.gifcool.gif

Shave some polys by making the grill just a square and use an alpha on the textuer to make it see-through on the grill part biggrin.gif

Nice one, can't wait for ingame XD

@ Evilraptor: thanks man smile.gif tell me if you have any thoughts of changing the style of something on the car. like a new front would be nice if you could find any good picture of a model that's worth it. or make a picture yourself like roberto did. oh, btw, I put a texture on instead of a big bunch of polys for such a small detial.

and now to the car:

user posted image

this is what I meant about the idea of Roberto and Supra. respect to them for this nice design. well, it's actually mine. but thanks to them for the ideas of I got. and I have to give some credit for the badge. conj made it ages ago. why did I get it? I thought that I needed some manufacturer for the car. it's really fun to make this car. I might try to make other cars in the future. I made around 4-5 hovercars once. but I dont remember the name of their manufacturer. so I came up with a new one. the logo is a wolf and the name is Neptoid. ofcourse the model name is Dragon. it's even written on the numberplate.

in short:

manufacturer: Neptoid

model: Dragon

logo: a wolf's head.

I'll try to make more of these luxury sporty cars in the future. but before this car can be called "finished" I need a new design of the front. it doesnt really match the rear. what about a remake of the VC infernus front?

EDIT: @evilraptor: I've made the car different. obviously... and this front really brings the car to life! I've also changed the rear a bit. so it looks more like a muscle sportscar.
