Well not really, i'm told that SA can handle 150.000 polys per car, so unless it's got more polys, then you should be fine...

With turbosmooth 1 it goes to like, 20k polys for the body, so it's definately doable.. Not to mention I could not use turbosmooth and just add a couple more polys here and there to make it smooth. But then again, putting it into SA is not my top priority wink.gif

Imo, the Camaro would have suited as a Firebird/Trans Am MUCH better. I don't see much Camaro in it, but when dressed up like the FB/TA it looks just right.

Looking great Cody + Tchuck. But I still think that if you want that to be a Ranger knockoff, rather than an actual Ranger, you need to stray off the blueprints. You're following them very precisely. And instead of doing a Ford-type badge on the grill, use the triangle-type thing seen on vehicles like the Kuruma.

 

That is, if you still want it to be a Bobcat.

You are right, but I'm not to sure how to model the front of the truck to make it look less Ranger-ish. But, I do like your suggestion about adding the triangle to the grille though.

Well, if it was me, I would:

 

Style the headlights a bit differently

Remove the arch on the bottom (or shrink it)

 

I feel so akward, giving hints on modeling when I can't even model a square in Sketchup. blush.gif

The low poly model is 9k polys.. Add Turbosmooth 1, it goes to 37k.. With turbosmooth 2, just like the render, it goes to 147k colgate.gif

Tchuck, that is truly amazing.. the perfect bullet replacement. Such a modern look, and perfect balance between muscle and sports stylez =- I've never seen this car before.. it's up there with the new hemi/charger designs for me.. much respekt.

Tchuck maybe its just me, the car is f*cking sweet and you did such a good job on it but I don't fancy the front lights so much. Why not try a single round? similar to the older late 60's models? Or like the picture previously posted of the SS model? Sorry for nit picking, its nothing major but I think it would just spice it up a little, I could be wrong though.

 

And i'm also sadly not big on the wheels either. I would have gone more of a deep dish 5 Spoke rim more of a meaner aggressive look to the car. its an SS concept in your books so why not make it look more like one? The rims you have now look more tuner then anything

 

Other then that the car is excellent and I would love to see this in my game one day. I'm in need of a nice concept sports car and though 'm not big on GM's the Camaro Concept is quite a sexy beast wink.gif

man? thats a crazy name for a truck company or car company whichever, looks good so far! though i've never seen such a thing before I can't say how accurate it is but from what you have there its a great start!

Mista_G, originally I had thought of the lights being hidden behind the grill, as it would have made a killer mean look, but I scrapped that idea and just decided to make the old lights. I did consider having regular round lights, but I thought they wouldn't fit quite nicely and/or I have no idea how to make them tounge2.gif

But just like Camaros from the save era had different type of headlights (at least 3 during the 60s or so), I could probably make them as extras should this ever see a game colgate.gif

The wheels are just my run of the mill fill up wheels, I have plans to make proper muscle car wheels for it sometime.

As for game release, I could see it for a GTA4 release, as I'll have enough time to make a proper lowpoly model and interior and whatnot.

@tchuck: No ingameness for this beautiful beast? to high poly? I don't care! and as for the wheels good! and the lights even better! that is if this car ever sees the game. If you have to wait until GTA4 then i'm going to have to buy a better computer sadly i'm only running 2ghz still its slow as f*ck and I need to upgrade badly as I tried installing or was going to buy a game for my computer which was Test Drive: Unlimited until I found out my computer sucked balls and couldn't handle it.

 

Its that time of the century I guess, I have had this beast for almost 6 years still truckin along. Anyways your car looks sexy and I really love the way you did the rear lights, suits the SS concept you got going on really nicely! good work man.

It should be like 30k~40k polys for the exterior with only one turbosmooth itineration thingy. Thing is, who will be the brave bastard to cut it all up to make it work on gta? wink.gif
