Looks great Vinny, but can you show us a wireframe? it looks like the polylayout is not correct and that is why because the normals are a bit messed tounge.gif

@Chris: That looks awesome. those are some hot rims. Some clean render too, nice smile.gif

It's the lightning scheme, I'm sure it is. The normals seem fine.

Also, I know I ain't the better modeller around, and that it looks sh*tty when it's in wireframe tounge.gif

^That black thing is the hood. And believe me, the normals are perfect on it.

In Your Nightmares

Vinny, you need to add more polys on your fenders going onto the bumper, but thats just me.

Chris, like i told you on MSN, it looks great. Love the camber in the back.

So after watching the new Fast and Furious 4 times, heres what ive came up with.

Tandem Axle Yosem from SA. I might do a scene with a oil rig, just like the movie.

With this polycount and polyplacement you'll get

weird normals and weird speculair highlight.

I help you a bit.

I know I suck when I have to draw with the mouse.

Look at this pic I have placed "polies" on the way you can learn:

To get smoother and not blocky faces, you can add more polies

and move them like you see like the ones from reallife.

Good luck smile.gif

Lookin good Chris colgate.gif I really like it. Btw why did you changed it to a 4-door?

Well... I used the blueprints of the 4dr version to make the 2dr version.

When i whas done and had it mapped I whas informed it isnt possible to do that becouse they are quite different from eachother (roof , rearlights etc ) so I just changed it back.

But it's still a hot car in my opinion , so I dont really mind hehe lol.gif

Indeed Vinny, that wireframe is a bit f*cked if you let me say so tounge.gif You don't need to render or something to see the normals problem, it will just happen when you assign the smoothing groups (Don't know how does that work in blender)

You need to reassign the polys in a way that the angles of the triangles aren't very... large... don't know what is the exact name on English, but keep them as straight as possible. Follow Murcchachosa's image (Actually I see some unneeded polies on his draw, but follow it) and also remember the 'aerodynamic' lines of the real life car.

@Chris, that looks so damn clean that it looks beautiful biggrin.gif

@Nik: That is a Aston martin, yes? looks very damn good, I love those car's lines inlove.gif

in object mode > F9 > smooth / solid (with selected object)

Best way to learn how to do it is watching other's models wireframes, one pic can say more than hundreds of words. sigh.gif

And umh, update of my copcar:

As I said, my modelling style sucks major ass. Proably going to start re-making it sad.gif

@Miklas: There's also the "Smooth/Solid" button on the bottom of the screen (at least for me).

Exactley said.

I was thinking in my empty head to "aerodynamic"

And yh, I agree there are unneeded polies but I prefer highquality smile.gif

And like I said, I suck at drawing with mouse ph34r.gif

If its your first time, looks better for a newbie.

My first model sucks cabbage.

How about 3ds max or Zmodeler?

These both are the greatest programs for GTA smile.gif

Goodluck

Good to see you're alive, hope you're fixed all smile.gif And good to see the Golf back. this is a new scratch model or you fixed the one you made a while ago? Looks pretty nice, looking forward for it

@Miklas lol, Murcchachosa already showed him a pic, thats why I didn't put one! rolleyes.gif

@Murcchachosa You can get the same detail with less polies, its not about how many polies you place but about how you use them correctly, that is one of the challenges of modelling IMO smile.gif

Gholy crapsh*t! That VW looks tötally awesome! But it's a bit too round at some parts, in my opinion. I thought you'd already finished that thing? Or isn't it the VW with those red circles around the headlights?

Nik, looks nice, but a bit too shiny. It'd look great with a darkblue/grey colour. Further the rims look cool but the tires are going into the ground so it looks like there's no air in it.

Made a wheel in like half an hour (searching and editing texture included), didn't want to spend much time on it. I wanted it to be lowpoly, so made the spokes as an alpha channel. The car where it's going to belong to isn't made yet: that's my next project. It's gonna be a classic one, but like Donald Duck's 313 car.
