|GTA Mallorca| -nice taxi model there, is my fav taxi, sadly in BRITAIN we don't have them anymore we only have the new london taxi tx1,2,3 or 4 ... we have peugeot e5-7 or the mercedes vito things now

they are fazing out the old fairway london taxi +(bronze)edition (the model you make)as they are too old and because the DOORS open backwards

Wow Thank you Junox, that Taxi History is really interesting...

 

To bad that theyre not anymore in Britain, cause in Germany the taxi is a really Symbol for the City.

 

Secondly, i love the shape of this car, its so classic ...

 

 

I thought that you can see a lot of Fairways in Britain, in the PS 2 Game "The Getaway" it was the only Taxi...

Mallorca, I think you know already how fantastic I think you are. Astonishing work dude.

 

 

I don't know what it is. Some people thought it was a mixer (electric tool with which you mix the ingrediënts in a bowl), other people thought it was a fireweapon and I thought it's a vehicle. Actually it started as a sword, with the big spheres on the two sides as a grip and the bended tubes on the front would be a connection to the blades. On a very moment I thought it looked like an engine of a podracer and duplicated it. I didn't want to make a podracer so it became some sort of vehicle which isn't finished yet. The cockpit is going to be placed under the big wings. Took less than an hour to model with SketchUp, also smoothed (upperst screen) in SketchUp with a special tool.

So this place has been dead a couple days. I started a new project. Im making some stuff up as I go, so its not going to be 100% accurate.

Yeah its the MR2. Im using the blueprints, but like the bumpers and sideskirts, I make them up as I go. Yeah it is the horrid Spyder one im going by. Mines going to be a hard top version of it.

 

All Together its about 6-8 hours worth of modeling, and all together with one wheel its up to 1,681 polys.

Used a 'new' technique (it's new for me) to model the car.. I'm quite glad with the result. I'm certainly going to work further on it, and if I have enough motivation it might get ingame.

@Puma: you should use shadow maps or other techniques else than those stencil ones, as it f*cks up with the shadowed polys.

 

Also I dont know what software you are using to smooth your model, but the rules in 3D smoothing are always the same, no triangles, quads only for the best shapes.
