Did some minor tweaks to my SuperSport concept;

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

Tweaks mostly to the shape of the roof and some character lines, some minor texture changes, and new wheels. This one will be up for another redesign if I can keep up interest in car making.

Wow. I honestly can't pick out any one thing that you did to it... But, It looks way more agressive than before.

Those light pockets in the front work well with the shape, the fender bulges have a muscular line, and most importantly it looks like it could be built IRL.

I see you decided to stick with the windowbreaker mirrors. The only thing that I dont like is the texture job on those wheels, they will not look great in game when they are spinning around. (I like the design though)

Edit: Is it just me or did you smooth out the area where the roof meets the rear quarter?

I did all kinds of stuff to the model. I reshaped almost every single part of the car in one minor way or another. Like you said, it is hard to pinpoint specific changes, but taken in as a whole, the car has a much diferent(better) look to it I think.

The wheel texture is a reflection map mostly. Ingame it should appear fine.

The mirrors I don't feel like redesignig since I have plans for another chevelle based concept car that I'll be doing soon, and most of my newer ideas I wanna save for it.

This is supposed to be a chevelle concept right? It lools WAY more camaro-ish when you look at it. confused.gif

Nice work though. icon14.gif

Is it a BMW (the front looks like 80's BMW 3-Series)?

I added some bumper supports and modeled my lights in.

The light is textured and layered to look like this, no fancy rendering or material techniques. (no reflection maps)

STM - Nice Escort.

I believe it is actually his own Ford Cortina, I could be wrong though. Nice work in here.

Wow, that's awesome, nice work with the headlights. But I think the bars (the grille) ruins it, I think it would be better with just a flat textured grille. But that's just my opinion: I don't like bars in real life either.

The Ford Taunus is the same as a Ford Cortina, it's just renamed in America rolleyes.gif. It just happens that STM is from the UK, so he owns the car under the Cortina name. I say that, but the Taunus was released before the Cortina MK5, it was just rebadged in the UK.

Edit - Just looked at the filename, it is indeed a Mark V Cortina (mk5tina).

Indeed, mine is a mk5 Cortina, but it is identical to the mk3 Taunus. The Taunus brand name was around long before the Cortina name, but the two only became linked in 1970 when the European Cortina mk3 designs were borrowed and modified by Ford USA for the Taunus, and it was named the Taunus TC (TC actually stood for 'Taunus Cortina'). The Taunus became the worldwide branding for the car, while 'Cortinas' remained a predominantly British name.

The two brands virtually became one for the Cortina mk4 and 5, except the Taunus equivalent of the mk5 was simply called a facelift and retained the 'TC' badge throughout. Production continued until both brands were removed and replaced with the universally-sold jelly mould (aka Ford Sierra, or for USA folks, the Merkur) in 1982.

Yes I know I'm really sad sad.gif

Nice, I grew up with Cortinas.

My Dad had a MkII, a couple of IVs and a 2.3 Ghia MKIV.

I had a MkIV myself too, loved that ole bucket.

the universally-sold jelly mould

Hahaha, never heard it called that. My dad had a Mk.IV Cortina back when he was younger, swapped in his Triumph Dolly for it as it was causing him way too much agro in repairs. Swapped to a 1990 Sierra Estate after a brief time on a Vauxhall Carlton. He then had a Granada, followed by an Omega. If it ain't Ford or Vauxhall, my dad didn't wanna know!

Actually, I'd love to model a Carlton. Didn't sin5k4 make a Cavalier recently too?

They had a Carlton in The Getaway Black Monday, it would be good to see someone do a high detailed Carlton, especially if it turned out that IV could be moddable.
