Wow, I see some really good progress here. Especially Chilli: nice work dude! Maybe you'd make some bits a little rounder and try to exercise some interior work: the steeringwheel is still very simple. These are just a few little things, the rest is quite impressive.

 

Nice work to the other dudes too, but to me Chilli's work is more impressive because I think making vehicles with Sketchup is quite difficult. I aint saying that modelling vehicles with other programmes like 3dsMax or Zmodeler is easy, but it is easier than with Sketchup. I'm really looking forward to the result of that Porsche 914, nice high quality textures for the taillights. I hope it's going ingame...

 

Just some weird vehicle passed my mind and I thought to model it in Sketchup and put it ingame after it is finished...

It's going to replace a helicopter: the big propeller is the rear up-down-propeller, the who vertical ones are the ones which should keep the vehicle of spinning around (which won't happen in San Andreas if I won't add them, but it just looks realistic dozingoff.gif ). Far from finished, though.

where do you think it should be rounder? I think I know a few places, but just wondering because I want this work to be really good just like the original Crawler did. also making different versions of this will be fun. like, a family car, taxi and maybe a delivery car O.o

finished the rear and made the front longer. because the short front just looked like a normal compact city jeep.

also added spoiler, may need to be remodeled.

Nope. I remember getting one from a free model site once, but never did anything with it like those other ones.

 

Flash: bah. It's an old model anyways. I'll update it someday prolly. I usually go back and give my old models a touchup after a while has passed, except like those first 20 or so models like the thunderbird. A good example that I was gonna be posting already anyway:

 

Here is an old one from 2006, that I recently gave a minor makeover.

When I had finished the model in 2006, I half assed the body tex, only having a single color with a stripe as the body tex. It finally bugged me enough to break down and give it some proper body tex. The stripe is a little less crisp, but overall the tex gives the cars shape/curves more definition, and helps it not look so 'flat'.

Free to good home to anyone who wants to put an engine/interior in it. lol, any takers? biggrin.gif I was trying something diferent with the panel lines, instead of textures, they are modeled lines textured black. I've seen it done on many cars by many other people, I thought I'd give it a shot. You can take a guess on what I thought about it, considering that this is the only car I ever did it on wink.gif New wheels from my Dodge Sidewinder concept. I think they fit the car a little better than the originals.

 

It is my Muscle Tone concept, originally designed by Hot Wheels. I've only posted this car once before in 2006, though I don't think many people noticed it. Car # 121, 5101 polys for the model(not counting new mirrors) and 1709 per wheel(original chevy logo wheels).

I dont know what to do with some things confused.gif Maybe burner can tell. should i put SA lights or keep these ones? and license plates? Should i UVW map the second channel?

I'd say you should definitely do SA style lights and license plates to make the model fully "prepared" for SA.

Tutorial for SA reflections

That should help you with your reflections, it's for zmodeler, but 3ds max should work pretty much the same, the SA reflection needs to be set as the second UV channel.

 

Now, I finally got more progress done on my jeep commander, it's been months since I've touched it, maybe I'll actually finish it...

To make SA-like reflections (or any other type of reflections) you have to UVW map the second channel of your car with the reflection texture.

Youu know, with all of the trouble you are going through, it might just be easier to download Zmodeler, do the reflections in there, and re-export back to 3DS Max to finish it up...

But I would first try using google to find out how to do multiple UV channels in 3DS Max.
