The 1971 Burner Tumbler concept. Last time I had worked on was 11-12-02, for Midtown Madness 1.

@ MR.V8: the car looks good and all, except some missing polys on the wheels. on one of the spokes I can see the polygons of the middle of it. and if you've got any more ideas for it, make them smile.gif the car is alright. good work.

hm... I dont know about you, but do you have the ability to open sketchup files? I dont have pro so I cant export it as a Zmodeler file. because I could try to make a pair of wheels for it. all I need is some ispiration from a picture of just anything. a muscle car would be good. and before I'm going to make them please tell me how the polycount should be, say highpoly/midpoly or lowpoly.

one a circle the edges are as following:

high-48

med-24

low-12

and if you want I could make it even lower. and then tell me if it should have a lot of detials or just a simple rim with screws and the basic rim shapes.

I don't understand why that's olds get so much attention dontgetit.gif It's an oooold model from 2002 and is rather low poly and not well executed. I didn't spend much time on it. I made the model for someone else to texture and finish ingame, and they never did, so I halfassed a paintjob onto it.

 

Supra: Nooo. It would take too much work to put into SA, and it is also low poly.

And that is what we mean with "spend more time on it". I hope you finally convinced yourself from the fact that putting more time in vehicles actually makes them much better. I like it, try to get it ingame.. Oh, and when are you going to be convinced about the fact that the quality of some textures still sucks biggrin.gif ? Burner - You suck. Even your extreme low poly work is still half decent. I swear to god, that model looks like the traffic truck from MM1 but the textures bring it together. I just could never (nor would I want to) see that in Gta. Imagine the damage model lol.

 

Chilli - Hey its an improvement from the last batch of things you modeled. I like the wheels and the engine but everything else seems too primitive at the moment. Keep at it.

He did say it was a prop model, but I bet it'd look kickass in SA.

too primitive? ah you maybe mean the basic shapes?

and about the crappy textures: I want to use the same textures as the game has, even though I know they suck tounge.gif but if you people want me to use own made textures I could to that. then I could also get some more coolie textures for the wheels biggrin.gif and maybe if you dont mind, make 3D threads on the wheels instead of a texture making an illusion of 3D. just check my wheel/rim request topic somewhere around the disussion forum I think it was... but ofcourse more serious and more realistic look of them. I just made that other models just to see how wild they cool look tounge.gif

 

and about burner's creations, I think they are alright. but I agree with some guys that it just dont have IT to fit SA... but I cant point out what doesnt fit... sorry. but I just agree for some reason... probably because it has to do something with it's age or something. or just the sort of car mercie_blink.gif

 

EDIT: I looked back on this page and saw what they meant about burner's car. and yea... to be honest the MM1/2 cars do look better. and I believe it's higher poly too xD

 

EDIT2: I've done a inaccurate calculation of the polycount and it's around 83938polys on it. when using wireframe it's mostly squares and a poly is a triangle so I took the face number x2 and then you will get almost the exact rumber. I think it's around atleast 83 000 polys on it atm. highpoly dont you think?

Cause S10's are the sex, but yeah I can see how the low polyness would be an issue.

But to be honest I have seen worse models get put in game confused.gif

BURNER- you take the piss out of modelling "" a true artist"" you could probably count the polys youve used on your fingers , it looks better than most 80.000 poly monster models .... shame about damage model

Im sure you can some pretty nice out of it. It needs a good interior and engine, a nice damagemodel and sa lights and it should be a great lowpoly car. biggrin.gif

it's 295 polys for everything including wheels.

 

Lowridincrew: Oh yeah, but that can't go in SA either. It doesn't have the interior/engine/crap needed.

 

Jason: And the whole model uses only one 256x256 tex wink.gif Well, its got a 64x64 tex for the wheel, only cause it has to have an alpha.

Did this real quick last night, trying to find something to do other than work on the Corvette. lol. The tex are made from 4 horrible low res pics from some guys site who is supposed to be restoring this into some hotrod. 1178 polys for the model, front wheels are 400, and rear are 848.

 

 

 

Oh yeah, here are my other two class projects:

They were made in Max, but school comps dont have a graphics program installed, so I cant take pics in max at school, and I dont have Max 8 at home, so couldnt take pics here either. lol. So I exported into 3ds there and imported into Zmod here.

 

Barf. These were made using Max tutorial handouts, and are exactly the way they should be if you follow the tut. They did have textures applied from Max's library.

 

And I showed my bi-plane to the teacher for my grade yesterday, which kicked the plane from the tutorials ass, and the teacher didn't say nothing about it! He looked for half a second and said "ok" and went to the next student. Wtf. I was expecting at least something about it being textured, if nothing else. Oh well.

I got a PM from junox and he told me what needs to be fixed. so here's one of the things I've done, I hope it's better than the original textures:

one 128x128 for the wheel thread and a 256x256 for the tirewall+rim. it might need some more work if you want but I like it like this. I could try to add some mud on it too if someone wants.
