Adriaan
Already we've reported that the Italian Take-Two Games website speaks of exclusive content for the PS2 version of Vice City Stories, which then got removed, as well as online retailer Exlibris.ch revealing that this will include new special missions, stunt jumps, races and jobs. When I reported about Exlibris.ch, I noticed that they're speaking of multiplayer, and new modes. I figured that they must have taken it from the PSP description, and compared it to multiplayer in Liberty City Stories. Now however, I think I might have thought wrong. The same description is on the German Amazon, which according to them is a Product description from the manufacturer. The German text ''Erlebe spannungsgeladene Multiplayer-Action mit einer umfangreichen Auswahl an teils völlig neuen Spiel-Modi'' translates to Experience tension-loaded Multiplayer Action with an extensive selection of completely new play modes. I can't confirm that the PS2 version will in fact include this, as well the other new content such as side missions and races, but you'll agree with me that two different retailers talking about this, as well as an official Take-Two website clearly stating that the PS2 version will in fact include exclusive content, and then being removed after we posted about it, does in fact look sort of official. As always, I'll be following this and keep you posted. Thanks again to aschi04 for pointing me in the right direction. EDIT: I thought about the possibility of online play with the PlayStation 3. Apparently PS2 games can be played through its network, so this is likely a possibility to sell the game to PS3 owners. After all, roaming around online in Vice City is fun, as we've seen throughout the years with the original GTA: Vice City. gamerzworld
I wonder if this is for the online adapter or if it's just two player.
Greene
I would really enjoy a split screen two player. Although I don't think it'll happen. Great find
Pat
If it's going to have online play, it better work with a PS2 and a network adapter, instead of just the PS3's online network. Good find, all in all. Two player would be just as nice imo.
TonyResta
Id just want it to be a split screen 2player mode, i mean, who has ever played crash team racing? or other split screen 2p modes, they work the best and r* should definately consider incorporating this feature in gta, instead of that 1 screen limited distance coop crap in san andreas, sure it was fun the first couple of weeks, but then it quickly began to bore me. Blackadder.
The Multiplayer modes IF there are any might be exactly the same as PSP Multiplayer modes. For all we know, they are saying New Multiplayer modes for PS2 GTA, and not the GTA Series as a whole
uzi 9mm
R* are very smart at marketing. Not only are they making heaps of money from these sequels with 'Stories' on the box but are also able to experiment with new in game features with virtually no harm done, since nothing they add can be that bad, and whatever it is the fans on forums around the net will let R* find out if these new things are good for the game, and maybe implement them in GTA4, things like the Jet Ski, if it's legit... this new multiplayer feature, and any other new things they chuck in, these are little experiments to prepare for GTA4, and there is no loss. Undoubtfully San Andreas Stories will follow, with a great land mass like that which varies they could easily make another interesting story line to grace the State and tempt fans to pay for it, I probably will because it makes these great games replayable again (not that they're not anyway), and the game's aren't full price, it's half the price on the PS2.
