If you have a copy of 3DS Max and need to learn how to use it head over to 3dbuzz.com, they have free video tuts on how to use max. He does some sh*t that's like "Why are you doing it that way????" nomad4 Posted February 15, 2009 Share Posted February 15, 2009 For GTA IV: popcycle.dat Excel Editor Not sure if anybody had posted any tools, but I made an Excel file that can help you make global changes to the values of popcycle.dat. You can increase each column (peds, cars, cop cars, cop peds, etc.) by a percentage. So for example, inputting 25% as the percentage increase for peds will increase the value of 10 to 14. There is also another sheet that simply adds the value. So if you put in 5, the value of 10 will be increased to 15. The file has three worksheets: a locked original for the original values, a working sheet, and a manual edit sheet. You just copy the working sheet into the manual edit sheet so that you can make specific adjustments to individual values. When you're done, you just hit Ctrl-A twice (to select entire sheet) to select all, copy, and paste it into popcycle.dat. It'll work just fine. If anybody is interested, please message me. If someone would like to host the file, please let me know. I'm currently tweaking my popcycle.dat for a more realistic feel, especially in Star Junction (NYC's Times Square). It gives me an error: An error occurred while loading the popcycle data. Index was outside bounds of array. My Excel file when pasted uses only single spaces (I had to replace all the irregular spacing in the original to make it uniform for Excel). I would still use my Excel file for mass changes to all zones. I felt that the game wasn't as populated as it should be, so I added 15% to all values for Ped. So far i have tested a converted 30 minute TV show successfully.
