head on body

Player models have something called "bones" in them, basically parts that represent body parts like forearm, upper arm, should, neck, back, etc etc.

Zmodeler2 doesn't support bones so you would have to use 3ds Max. Over at ascendence.net in the tutorials section there is a quick tutorial showing you how to do this. I haven't tried it myself but it looks straightforward.
