mastag
Great game, but it is very choppy, and the radio stations sound especially blocky and laggy, if you know what i mean. Should a Radeon 9800 pro and a p4 2 ghz play this pretty well, or are my specs below what is required? Heihachi_73
It works on my old HP 1.2GHz machine with 256MB of SDRAM and onboard graphics (stuck in 16-bit), your specs are good enough by far. My Acer 2.8GHz Celeron has no problems apart from an occasional slight lag when a bit much gets on the screen, e.g. in the middle of Staunton Island. I gather you have 512MB of RAM or more (256MB was a bit laggy after a while, Windows jumps up and starts using the page file). They didn't optimise the off-screen drawing for the game, and as such it tries to display everything on the screen, even if there's a wall or 20 in front of you! The original PS2 version also has the same problem to a lesser degree. The off-screen drawing "glitch" was fixed in Vice City and later games. If you have another hard disk on your computer copy GTA3 over there instead of your C drive.
