The Fall Of Tommy Vercetti

The Fall Of Tommy Vercetti, or “TFOTV”, is a short story showing the demise of Tommy Vercetti and his empire. Considering Vice City was loosely based on Scarface, you will notice a resemblance between this story, and the ending of Scarface. This is only going to be a short, one chapter story. I will not be discontinuing Liberty City: The Shakedown for this.

This story was inspired by a short story about Catalina’s revenge on Claude.

---

The Malibu, Ocean Beach: 4:16 PM: June 24th, 2007

Tommy Vercetti sits in the back of his limo, as it comes to a stop in front of the Malibu. The driver gets out, opens Tommy’s door for him, and Tommy steps out, dressed in his favorite gray pinstripe suit. The driver shuts the door, gets back in, and heads for the parking lot. Tommy steps inside, to see people busy dancing and such, as usual. He walks up to the bar, and sits on one of the stools.

Tommy: Tall glass of scotch, and make it snappy.

The bartender nods, and grabs a large glass. He puts ice cubes in it, then opens a bottle of scotch and fills it. He then hands the drink to Tommy.

Bartender: That’ll be $18.52, sir.

Tommy pays, and takes a sip.

Man: They’re coming Tommy. They want revenge.

Tommy turns around, to see Ken Rosenburg sitting at a booth, with a shot of vodka in his hand. Tommy stands up and walks over to the table.

Tommy: What do you mean, Ken? Who’s coming? Who wants revenge?

Ken: The Forellies. They’ve reestablished themselves. The word on the street is that they’ll be here by tomorrow.

Tommy squeezes the scotch glass in his hand, then throws it at the wall, watching it shatter into millions of tiny pieces. All of a sudden, the music stops, and everyone stops dancing, staring at Tommy.

Bartender: Hey! HEY, YOU BIG IDIOT! Do you know how much that thing costs?

Tommy clenches his fists, and walks over to the bar. He walks behind it, and grabs the bartender by the neck.

Tommy: Excuse me? Is that anyway to speak to the owner of the Malibu? I’ve owned this club for eleven years. You’re lucky I even paid for that drink. Then, I throw one of my own cheap, $10 glasses at the wall, and you think it’s the end of the world? Listen, tomorrow, I’ll be fighting for my assets, my power in this city, and my life, and you’re pissed off because I broke a scotch glass?!

Tommy lets go of his neck.

Tommy: Get the hell out of my bar.

The bartender nods, and runs for the door, pushing through the stunned crowd. All of a sudden, the music starts playing again, and everyone starts to dance.

Tommy: Ken, meet me up in the office.

Ken nods, and gets up from the booth. Tommy walks up the stairs, and into his office. He sits down in his chair, and looks out at all the people dancing. Ken walks into the room, and sits on the sofa behind Tommy.

Tommy: Ken, we need a plan. This isn’t just going to be a normal shootout. I want my best henchmen on this, ok?

Ken: Well, most of your henchmen left around ’93.

Tommy spins his chair around.

Tommy: Excuse me?

Ken: I mean.. I’ll get some new henchmen, right away.

Tommy: No, it’s too late. I guess it’ll just be you and me.

Ken: Me?

Tommy: Good point, you couldn’t handle this. Hmm… Has Phil left for Liberty City yet?

Ken: No, he’s leaving in about a month. He’s already got a place set up there, so we’re lucky he’s still here. Did you want me to call him?

Tommy: Hmm.. Yes. Tell him I’ll need some of his best arms. I’m talking M60s, M4s, combat shotguns, MP5s, and more. This will be one hell of a war. Now, we need someone else…

Ken: How about Cortez?

Tommy: The Colonel? No, he’s still hiding over in Australia.

Ken: How about Umberto, then?

Tommy: No, he’s still in prison over in Green State.

Ken: Then… How about Mitch?

Tommy: Mitch Baker? Not a bad idea.

Tommy pulls out his cell phone, and dials Mitch’s number.

Mitch: Hello?

Tommy: It’s me, Tommy.

Mitch: Aww, hey Tommy! What-chyu been up to?

Tommy: Never mind what I’ve been up to. Listen, the Forellies are coming down to Vice tomorrow. They want revenge for Sonny.

Mitch: If they want revenge for Sonny, why didn’t they just do it back when you killed him?

Tommy: They just recently reestablished themselves. Listen, I might need your help tomorrow. Are you in?

Mitch: I’m not sure Tommy. I’ll think about it. I’ll tell you my decision later tonight, is that ok?

Tommy: Yeah, that’s ok.

Mitch hangs up, and Tommy does too. He puts the cell phone back in his pocket.

Tommy: Come on Ken, we have to go talk to Phil.

Ken: If it’s all the same with you Tommy, I think I’ll just stay here.

Tommy: Whatever floats your boat.

Tommy stands up, and walks down the stairs. He heads through the busy crowd, and outside. His limo sits there, with the driver holding his door open. Tommy gets in, and the driver shuts the door. The driver then gets in the driver’s seat.

Driver: Home, sir?

Tommy: No. To Phil’s junk yard, and step on it.

The driver nods, and heads for Phil’s.

Maibatsu Inc, Fort Staunton: 4:51 PM

A black Stafford pulls into the parking lot of the large building that was merely a construction site in 2001. After taking control of the site, the Zaibatsu used it as the main headquarters for their front “Maibatsu”, such as Maibatsu Motors, Maibatsu Pharmacy, and more. Gino Forelli gets out of the back, and shuts his door. He walks up to the large front doors, and walks inside. He then walks up to the front counter, and rings the bell.

Woman: May I help you sir?

Gino: I have a meeting scheduled with Mr.Kasen.

Woman: May I have your name?

Gino: Gino Forelli.

Woman: Hmm.. Yes.. Yes, I see it right here. Sixtieth floor, elevator is to the left.

The woman points to her right, and Gino nods. He walks over, and gets in, then goes to the sixtieth floor. The elevator stops, and he exits. He sees a small hallway, with nothing to the left or right except for two tables, each with flowers on them. In front of him is a large oak door. He knocks on it.

Man: Enter.

Gino opens the door and walks inside, to see a large office. At the back of the office sits Sunni Kasen, brother of Toshika Kasen.

Gino: Mr.Kasen, I need a favor of you.

Sunni: Ask your favor.

Gino: My men need a helicopter to Vice City, but as you know, it is extremely hard to get one in Liberty.

Sunni: Yes, yes it is. I had to pull quite a few strings to get the Maverick we have. I’m guessing you need it to get to Vice?

Gino: Yes, Mr.Kasen.

Sunni: Please, inform me, what reason do you have for going to Vice City?

Gino: As you know, back in ’86, Tommy Vercetti took down Sonny Forelli, our leader. We just recently reestablished ourselves, and we want revenge.

Sunni: Oh, you Italian’s and your “revenge”. A Japanese Mafia, like ours, would just elect a new leader. But, if you must, you may use my helicopter.

Gino: Thank you, Mr.Kasen. This will not go unforgiven!

Sunni: I should hope not. The Maverick is on the roof. Here are the keys.

Sunni stands up, and walks to a large key holder on the wall. He looks around, and pulls a set of keys off. He walks over and hands them to Gino.

Sunni: I want it to be returned in mint condition. Do I make myself clear?

Gino: Yes, Mr.Kasen.

Sunni: If it is not returned in mint condition, I will personally make sure you and your gang are wiped out for good.

Gino: Understood.

Sunni walks back to his desk, and sits down. He then waves his hand in a motion that symbolizes “leave”. Gino nods, opens the door, and steps out, closing it. He gets into the elevator along with the four Forellies that were with him. They go up to the roof, and exit the elevator, to see a helipad with a black Maverick with a yellow strip sitting on it. They walk up beside it, and Gino hands the keys to his capo, Mario.

Mario: I worked for that prick for seven years, and now I can get my revenge.

Mario and Gino smile, then Mario gets in and starts the Maverick. The three Forelli soldiers get in with Mario, and he takes off, headed south.

Phil’s Junk Yard, Little Haiti: 5:27 PM

Phil: So, this is the plan: You’ll be in your office, with an M60. Mitch will be to your right with an MP5, and I’ll be to your left with an M4.

Tommy: That sounds about right. Only one thing though. Do you have any smoke mines?

Phil: What the hell is a smoke mine?

Tommy: You know, like a landmine, only when they step on it it’ll release gas, blinding them.

Phil: Aww, shoot, I don’t think those exist. I could make one though!

Tommy: Make about five. I have spots that I want them set up if I run out of ammo, I’m outmanned, etcetera. Ok?

Phil: Can do!

Tommy: Good. You think you can get the supplies and bring them to the mansion though? We’re not taking any chances of them getting here early.

Phil: Sure I can! I’ll go load up my truck.

Tommy nods, and exits the trailer. He gets into the back of his limo, and the driver heads for his mansion. Phil walks out, and grabs a couple of teargas grenades, some landmines, and a toolkit. He loads them into the backseat of his Patriot, gets in the front, and follows the limo. All of a sudden, Tommy’s cell phone rings. He answers it.

Mitch: Tommy, it’s me, Mitch. I made my decision.

Tommy: And?

Mitch: I’ll help you.

Tommy: Good. Phil’s got the weapons loaded in the back of his Patriot, along with some smoke mine materials in the back seat.

Mitch: Smoke mines?

Tommy: I’ll explain when you get to the mansion. Speaking of which, get there as soon as possible.

Mitch: Got it. See you there Tommy.

Tommy: See you there.

Mitch hangs up, as does Tommy. All of a sudden, the limo pulls up in front of the stairs. The limo driver opens Tommy’s door, and he gets out. He walks up the steps, and Phil’s Patriot pulls into the mansion. He parks in front of Tommy’s garage, but Tommy waves for him to park over to the right of the stairs. He does so. Tommy walks inside, then into the TV room, followed by Phil. A few minutes later, an Angel can be heard outside. Then, Mitch Baker walks through the front doors, and into the TV room. The men talk, make sure everyone knows what to do, then Phil goes out to his truck to get his supplies. All of a sudden, the sound of a chopper is heard. Tommy runs outside and looks up to see Sunni’s Maverick, and ducks from the fire of MP5s.

Tommy: Sh*t!

Tommy runs back inside, and Phil jumps under his Patriot. The Maverick lands, and Phil crawls out from underneath it. He goes around back and grabs the M4, MP5, and M60, then carries them inside.

Phil: Grab your weapons!

Phil drops them in front of the stairs, and everybody gets loaded up.

Tommy: You two, stay down here. I’m going up.

Phil and Mitch nod, and Tommy runs for the stairs. He goes up, sees one of the Forellies pop out, and takes fire. He misses, as does the Forelli. The Forelli then runs back onto the roof, says something to Mario that Tommy can’t hear, then Tommy hears the opening and closing of Maverick doors. He runs up, takes aim, and fires at the black and yellow Maverick. It catches fire, and they land in front of the stairs. Tommy starts to run down, while the Forellies run inside. They open fire on Mitch and Phil, and vice versa. Phil gets hit in his right arm twice.

Phil: Damn it, that’s the second time that’s happened!

Phil runs for the stairs, and heads down. He goes to the left, around the pool, and to his Patriot. He gets in, starts it up, and heads for a hospital, with pain running up and down his arm.

Mitch: Aww, sh*t!

Mitch runs into the office, and kicks over Tommy’s table. He hides behind it, takes aim, and fires. He hits one of the Forellies in the knee, then gets hit in the head by one of the other’s bullets.

Gino: Hold on, listen.

They listen, and hear Tommy running down the steps. They take aim at the entrance, and fire when they see Tommy. Tommy aims and pulls the trigger, to find he’s out of ammo.

Tommy: Son of a bitch!

He throws the M60, then runs up the steps, followed by the Forellies. He makes it to the roof, runs across, and scoots down the shingles. He hears the Forellies coming out behind him, and jumps.

Tommy: Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!

He lands on one of the bushes in his maze.

Tommy: Damn, I got lucky.

Tommy climbs off, and looks up, to see the Forellies taking aim. They fire, and he runs.

Gino: What’re you idiots waiting for? JUMP!

Gino pushes them off the roof. One lands on the same bush Tommy landed on. The other lands on his head and breaks his neck, dying immediately.

Gino: Son of a bitch..

The Forelli runs after Tommy. Tommy looks back, and pulls the .357 out of his pocket he never goes anywhere without. He turns around, takes aim, and puts a bullet through the Forelli’s head.

Gino: Damn it!

Gino takes a deep breath, and jumps. He lands on the ground beside Tommy, breaking his legs. He screams in pain.

Tommy: Hello, Mr.Forelli.

Gino: Tommy, wait! Can’t we talk about this?

Tommy puts a bullet through his head.

Tommy: Let’s talk about how you won’t be getting your revenge anytime soon.

All of a sudden, he hears police sirens. He gets into his Admiral, starts it up, backs up, and heads for the exit. All of a sudden, an Enforcer blocks it, and he crashes into it’s side. He backs up, and revs his engine. The Enforcer pulls forward. SWAT members get out, block the exit, and take aim at the Admiral with MP5s. Tommy revs his engine again, and plows right through them. He makes a left, and heads for the docks.

Tommy: I gotta’ get the hell out of Vice.

He makes a left off the bridge, and looks behind him to see a VCPD Maverick followed by two Enforcers, and three FBI Washingtons. He sees a space between two trees up ahead, and pulls through it, almost crashing. One of the Enforcers and two of the FBI Washingtons crash into the trees. The remaining FBI Washington stays on the left road, waiting for the opening in front of Cam’s. It turns onto the right street, and keeps up behind Tommy’s Admiral. One of the FBI agents leans out of the back, and takes fire with his MP5. He hits Tommy’s front and rear left tire, and Tommy starts to swerve. He goes through the toll booth, swerves left, and enters the docks. He loses control of the car, and it goes into the water. He tries to open the door, but can’t. Water starts to fill the Admiral.

Tommy: Sh*t sh*t sh*t!

The car sinks. The FBI Washington pulls up, and all four of the agents get out.

Agent 1: Should we go get him, boss?

Agent 3: No, let him sleep with the fishes. Heh.

The agents laugh, then get back into the Washington. They head back to the police station, and are later awarded medals of honor for ridding the town of Tommy Vercetti.

The End..?
