Grandthefter Posted September 1, 2007 Share Posted September 1, 2007 (edited) The game is great, in a 32 player match the fighting is insane, explosions everywhere and planes/tanks/jeep moving and shooting everything that moves. The enviroment are great aswell, archepilago is my favourite (or something like that). There are, however, a few annoying problems that i've encountered so far - one of which was my own impatience. The game glitches alot for me with the advancements, sometime it'll take ages for them to register that you have the requirements to level up etc - i've had the get the ribbon needed a few times to move up. Sometimes it can work in your advantage though, my rank is a 'chief sergeant' atm - even though the requirement is 2500 points and im just over 1500, but im not complaining. The other problem was the store download - i didn't realise it at the time by my profile is the only profile that can play warhawk as i'm the 'owner' instead of the playstation. All my mates have accounts on my playstation so i have to let them all play it on mine - which isn't that bad i guess. All in all a very good game. I can not get into the blue SCEE ones at all, just get "Unable To Join Game" and its hit and miss with the others. But anyway, the game itself is crazy fun. I tend to grab a sniper, grab a WarHawk fly over to a hill somewhere and let rip on everyone below. The thing feels powerful as hell. Edit: I've just realised, I've been playing unranked all the time, ffs. The blue ones are ranked yeah? But I cant join ANY of them, any ideas? Grandthefter Posted September 3, 2007 Share Posted September 3, 2007 blue servers are servers hosted by sony, be is SCEA or SCEE. Each of which is ranked. You'll get 'unable to join' etc alot if you try to join these if you just started. In brackets beside you'll see 'lvl1' 'lvl2' etc. It starts at lvl 4 which you'll be able to join, this is anywhere below a chief sergeant i believe, as you progress higher in the ranks you'll be able to join higher level sony servers as you move up the ranks. There are a few other ranked non-sony servers on there, they're harder to find though. I've always found it strange how you cant filter for just ranked matches, something i'm hoping they're adding. Might be US only. If I think you read the same article as me the update you are talking about is actually a firmware update. Not an update by Incognito. From what I know, they are working on it but I can't say it is coming out tomorrow. Anyway, Heavenly Sword next week!!!!!!!! Ranked matches are so easy to get points in now though edit: damn 3rd digit, i turn the ps3 and get the update message - so i go to updating expecting that 2.0 is out, instead its gone from 1.9 to 1.92. Was playing on a ranked one last night, joined one you where in grandthefter, dunno if you saw me. That was my first time I ever got to play on one! I honestly cannot get into any ranked server now, any unranked, actually, nothing. Its lucky if I ever get in a server. But I got few badges and ribbons last night. Going to see if it saved them. Also, dodging missles! How? No matter how many flips, spins, dives, power slides, I always get hit. Whereas if I fire at someone they always dodge it. If they're the green basic ones you get when you get in the plane they're easy to avoid when you do some loops and spins. If they the yellow TOW missiles or the turrets one then the best way would be to use your chaff - right on the d-pad in order to lose them. And then get out of range before they reload. Not sure if that update helped, i'm back at my chief sergeant rank now and managed to join a sony server first try - not sure if its luck or not though Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But after a couple of tries it'll finally tell you the real ones. Also, you not being able to dodge missiles? matt27689 Posted September 4, 2007 Share Posted September 4, 2007 I found this out, if you push the right analog stick up and pull the left one down you will do a bigger loop the loop, and if you pull the right and push the left, you do a short loop the loop depending on your controls. Don't know if it helps avoiding missiles though, just as soon as target is locked onto you, release a missle distractor if you have it, or just double tap r2 to speed for the nearest cover. Works everytime; once you get a missle lock on you, hold R2 + L2, Pull the right analogue stick down and left, so its diagonal, or the opposite side and just keep changing directions with the left. Don't do it near a cliff though, bad idea. And where you in that match that lasted like 2 minutes? One guy won with 31 points where everyone else was on like 4. I thought that was weird.
