Its out in other parts of the world then? I may just do that, if it has a headset with it anyway.

I've read it is meant for August 07, but it is August. sad.gif

Edit: Its on Play.com Here

No headset though. sad.gif

Hmmm, that's odd and it's not out here in the U.S either. It comes out the 28th of August. I thought the retail is boxed with a headset.....well at least for the U.S it is.

Anyone here use a Bluetooth Headset? I want one for playing online, but looking around, and reading the peoples reviews, Im a bit sketchy. People are saying how they don't work or mess up online and stuff. So Im wondering what is a good one to buy that has good quality?

Examples:

Play.com - Fail.

Play.com again - Lol.

Theres more, but you get the idea.

if you plan on getting warhawk, I hear it comes with a bluetooth headset~

well, so says sony tounge.gif for 60$ the only fair incentive I see for getting it retail over download is the headset itself

Bluetooth headsets I have encountered online, bring a lot of static with them. The guy with the bluetooth hears fine, but the people hear a lot of static from you. It gets pretty annoying. USB is clear as day, but has a cord. I might get the $60 with the bluetooth if I hear that they are good. Otherwise, I'm keeping my USB.

Blind Joe Death

http://au.gamespot.com/news/6175813.html

It's announcements like these that really make you proud and excited to be an owner of a PS3.

Anyway, I know it's pretty old news now but I am really excited since this game sounds like it is going to be huge. Any ideas on what type of game it is going to be? I am guessing another pony-farming game similair to GTA.

it could be anything, really. i doubt they would want to compete with their own series. also, rockstar is a big studio, and rockstar north is obviously busy right now.

I agree that they wouldn't want to compete with GTA although is there any other genre of game that can be so large and GB consuming that it "apparently" can only be played on a PS3?

with PCs around, there is no game so space consuming it could only be done on the ps3. the games exclusivity likely has more to do with a business deal than console specs.

guys have any idea how to remove glue? i had a skin on my ps3 and it left gluey reside all over it and i may get charged because of it.

I have a couple of crude ideas like soapy water, cd cleaner, turpentine or methylated spirits but i have no idea what they might do to the plastic surface of the console.

Whatever you do, don't allow the insides to get wet (duh) maybe work on small areas at a time and keep towels or rags around that area to soak it up before it causes damage.

turpentine or metho dies quick (if i remember correctly) so they may dry before they do damage.

you could just scrape it away with your nails or something first.

and don't think less of me but tooth paste unscratches discs pretty well so that might be useful too.

-these are just ideas, I've never tried them on a gaming console ph34r.gif

who would charge you? isn't it your console? wow.gif

When the game is not being made for PC, why does it matter? It could just be compared to other console specs.

Also the Cell isn't similar to cpus used in computers so the games exclusivity could very well be because of the PS3....

A few questions:

80GB PS3; is the only difference to the 60GB one the size of the HDD? i'm not looking at getting one im just curious (and already have 60gb), apparently its gonna have Rumble Controlers, based on a pic that shows a red PS Button.

Link: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/07/09/ps3_sixaxis_rumble/

I also heard theres no plans to bring it to europe, if thats so, they should at least bring the Rumble Controlers.

If the only changes are the HDD and Sixaxis, i can get 1 or 2 controlers and a bigger HDD.

I bought a new Sata HDD for my PC the other day, i didn't know they were slimmer than IDE, now i understand how you can upgrade PS3 HDDs, they have to be Sata right? If so how easy is it to Install one? If its not that tricky i may buy one soon (I'm already running out of space on my PS3 HDD (about 15gb left))

i can back up trailers pictures and music by transfering to PC, what about demos and full games, can they be backed up, if not can i download them again without having to purchase them?

I think thats all i wanted to know, if theres anything else i'l add it l8r.

Edit: also, is there a limit to the size of HDD that can be installed? do i need better cooling fans?

wow thats alot of questions, the 80 will include motorstorm as a 'bonus' to make up for the 100 dollar increase.

I thought Sony squashed the idea of the rumbling six-axis?

the hdd's that the ps3 uses is the 2.5 inch SATA drive, a standard laptop hard drive and theres a video

and it shows you in your ps3 manual.

the games you paid for at the PS store you can re-download without paying up to 5 times i believe.

there shouldnt be a limit on the hard drive size you can install it would just be a question of your money and cooling fans have a bad rep i believe of overheating and melting to the ps3 so it would benifit you but at your own risk.

hope all that helped. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the help smile.gif,

1. I dont need Motorstorm as i've already got it, so no loss there, looks like i dont have to buy a new one if i want to have latest stuff.

2. Apparently the problems with Sony and the rumble company have been sorted, so hopefuly they will return to using the now called "Touch Sense" feature.

3. I could have ended up buying a 3.5" HDD lol, damn thats anoying that its got to be a laptop one, those arn't as cheap as normal PC HDDs (i found a 160gb 2.5" for £80 ($160), compared to £30 ($60) for a 3.5"), and thanks for the link to the video (did you notice at the end the guy blurs out his PS3 IP Address, but you get a quick flash of it right b4, and if you pause it quickly you can see it clearly lol, dunno why he would leave it like that)

4. Thats anoying, one day your gonna have to buy them all again if you do alot of upgrading, modding etc...

5. I'm not in need of upgrading yet so i don't want to fork out £80 for something i don't need, if it was £30 i wouldn't mind, i could even get a 320gb for cheaper than £80.

I don't really plan on getting those cooling fans, i've heard they are really noisy, i don't wan't fans louder than the ones already in PS3, on full speed (watching DVDs/BluRays on a hot day) they are louder than my PC fans on full lol.

if the darkness is any indication, it will likely come after the game is released.

the actual game come 2 weeks later than the other versions, the demo might come 2 weeks later as well.

the game was released the same day, however the demo for the darkness just came out recently on psn.

with stranglehold, on the other hand, the release date for the ps3 version is 2 weeks after the 360/pc version, but to make up for it, the special edition comes with a blu-ray copy of hard boiled.

I think the EU PS Store had it same day/day after it went up on XBL.

Been meaning to get hands on the Stranglehold demo too, but my 360 ethernet cable ripped, and my PS3 one is out on loan (imagine that). Don't know if I can use the one running through my computer, besides I have torrents running 24/7. Is it available on the PS Store yet?

Got an annoying problem that I cannot seem to suss out.

As my PS3 is hooked up via the PC for internet sharing, I can also access the media files on my PC (using that firmware update a little while ago) Pictures work great, music is fine. But cannot stream video from the PC. The video has been converted to a format that the PS reconises but when I attempt to access it from the PS, it tells me its un-supported.

What really gets me is that I use PSP VIDEO 9 to convert movies, then I plug in the PSP upload the movie to the memory stick then walk over to the PS3 and plug it in and download the movie, and it works perfectly fine. But if I just leave the converted file on my desktop, the PS3 does not reconise it. Any suggestions as I only a 1 gig stick and most of the movies I have are over that, so I cannot watch them.

Also, I have only had the station for 5 months and the dam X button is starting to stick! Grrrrr

I'm wearing through the shafts of both my analogue sticks, theres a pretty deep groove in both, especially the left one. blush.gif

I dont know what to tell you about the videos, have you tried them in a seperate folder rather than on the desktop?

I havent needed to use the streaming fuction yet, so Im kinda stumped.

Yep, also tried duplicating the folder movies go into on the PSP (MNV0001) but no luck still.

Oh, I thought you were refering to game as well since you said: "the actual game come 2 weeks later than the other versions," the part where you said actual game made me think that you were referring to the game coming out later than the other versions as in the 360 version.

As for the delay, it was because of the region-lock fiasco. Originally, Midway wanted to region-lock Stranglehold (would have been the first PS3 game to be region-lcoked) for the PS3 since it comes with the movie Hardboiled. A lot of people complained and so Midway made it region free. For some reason though, Midway also made the regular version of the game also region-locked, which it isn't any longer, but was going to be.

Link: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/08/04/strang...s-it-should-be/

The game was going to get the movie even if it was going to release alongside the 360 version which it was originally scheduled to. It wasn't to make up for the delay. You get the movie if you buy the collector's edition.

Just played the Ninja Gainden Sigma demo that I downloaded from the PS store, and my god it rocks. They really have got the combat working well, ripping people apart with my dual swords and nunchucks (sp.?). Brutal, but great.

I'm thinking of getting it now that GTA:IV isn't coming out, as I don't know what other game I could get atm. And I'm not missing the rumble feature either. So what, rumbling pads, I'd rather have the motion sensing.
