Vista 32 or 64 bit and GTA software

Recommended Posts

I hope this is a better place for this topic than where I added the question to a different post before:

What's the word on GTA-related software being able to be used with Vista 32 or 64 bit? I got Vista Home Premium recently, and wondered about modding software, like the IMG Tool, working with either one, let alone 64 bit being fussy about licensing and being bad for modding GTA or other games. Also, would modding a GTA game be a problem with that 64 bit licensing concern?

Racer posted this on his website a few months back, but it's since crashed. I kept the text and have it on our forum:

heres the fix

first download dx8vb.dll from ONE of these places

http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_...0/download.html

http://www.driverskit.com/dll/dx8vb.dll/692.html

http://www.thevbzone.com/d_DLL.htm

then copy to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

finally click start and where the text entry is type:

"regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\dx8vb.dll"

without the parenthesis and press enter, if all went well you will see a 'succeeded' message

enjoy!

Now, this is for the SA Camhack, but it may work with other mods/trainers as well. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work.

As for the tools themselves, isn't there a compatibility setting in Visita (like in XP) for each program?
