a New era has came to Vice City, those sunny and hot days r over, it started to snow everywhere, the roads r changed, the rain is now...well, watch this pic:

looks pretty good, maybe you should change the palm trees and vegetation to different looking trees and stuff? jus a suggestion. i like it though

First off, it looks great Silberio. I agree with changing the trees and plants. Maybe add some snow to them. Another thing that would be cool would be to change the swimming pools so that you can walk on top of them, making them seem frozen. Just another suggestion. Keep up it man. xmas.gif

yeh you should make all the water in vice city solid. but make it like glass, so if u hit it hard enough it shatters and you fall through. if thats possible. but i think it shouldn't be too hard.

I don't know how hard it would be to do but I think that it should be possible. I've never actually used the mod before but there is a mod for VC called 'Target Island'. I saw screenshots of the mod and it looked like 'breakable glass' had been added to some places in the game. Unfortunately the language that the ReadMe file is written in is foreign to me so I'm not sure about the details, but it seems to involve moding the map files as it replaces some of the .ide, .col, and .ipl files for certain areas.

Here's the title and the mod's author

TARGET ISLAND - BY SSLAZIO 1900

Unfortunately I can't remember where I downloaded it from, but you guys may have some luck finding it. If this could be used to add a layer of 'ice' to the pools I think it would be pretty awesome. Later guys.

hey thx for the idea, its very good, but i think, instead of making the water solid, put some glass windows to make it look like ice, so if u jump whit a vehicle it crashes, but i would need some help there...cuz i dont know anything about Ipl's and Ide's and stuff u know... tounge.gif

VC:Weather is out, including realistic snow weather. If you ever get to complete your mod, just ask me and I'll help you to set up the game so that driving on snow will cause snow particles to fly away from the wheels, etc.

As for snow here's how I'd do it: I would lift the world geometry models a bit in comparison to their col model. The effect will be that vehicles and players sink a bit into snow, no? Of course on the streets there should be stripes from the wheels that are not raised, If done properly this might give a good effect. smile.gif

Maybe one can even tweak the particle system through mem hacking so that peds leave footprints in the snow. smile.gif
