GTA3Freak-2001
Its still a nifty little thing to have, I hate the time it takes to send basic messages so anything to make that a bit easier is cool in my books. I don't really care about MSN chat ability as my PC is what I use for that but the basic little messages I find useful.
Grandthefter
based on the price i'll think about the add-on, it'll prob be better for my money if i just pick up a usb keyboard and use that instead. Though the wirelessness of that keyboard certainly interests me. Just one thing about the whole messenger thing they're intergrating: When i first got live about 2 years or so ago it was tied to my mum's email address cos she was paying for it, is there anyway to change the email address my gamertag is tied to so then i can use my contacts on the 360? Bigs
Hello friends, I'm hoping some of you can help me out. Sorry if it's already been discussed, too. I have decided I'm going to purchase an Xbox 360 very soon, but I'm not sure I want to pay the extra $100 for the 'premium' one. Is the difference just the hard-drive? And how crucial is that hard-drive, considering I'm not really a hardcore gamer, just casual...except when it comes to GTA. Also, if I go with the standard, is it possible to upgrade later? Cheers
Platinum.
Definitely go with the Premium mate, it ends up a MUCH better deal, without Premium you cant even save the game, it doesn't include an ethernet cable so you'd have to go out and buy one of those for Xbox Live, including a headset, in the end you'll have to go out and buy all the items that didn't come with the Core version in the first place, and it will end up more expensive than if you'd bought the Premium. Bauer
If they put a internet browser on the 360, I would consider buying the keyboard-controller add-on. It would be cool to use the controller as a mouse... But yeah, internet browser for the win. Why haven't they done it already?
Grandthefter
500 points for 3 songs? Worth it? I dunno 'Bark At The Moon' and 'Ace Of Spades' are two of them, but 500 points is pretty steep for just 3 songs. It's like £4.50 or something

Me neither, I can only assume it's got something to do with either: a) Sony and Nintendo doing it and them not wanting to seem like they're following or b) wanting to roll it out monumentally at a perfect time. Might also fall inline with Microsoft's control all policy. The browser might be a bit to freedom like for them and it could be exploited. It's like £4.50 or something yeah, i read about that and was more than a little pissed off. at that rate, it would be nearly 100 bucks for all the GH1 songs with no physical media or anything. it should have been 5 bucks/10 pack for the original songs AT THE MOST. its bad enough it costs 10 bucks more for the game even though it is basically the exact same as the ps2 version

So in a few days when I find a way to get around $75 I'll be cracking myself an Xbox 360. Hoorah.
Knife
I find it best to pretend the core version doesn't exist, because really it's just a waste of money.

Might also fall inline with Microsoft's control all policy. The browser might be a bit to freedom like for them and it could be exploited. I think it's because Microsoft doesn't want two of their products competing with each other. The PC offers web browsing capability. It's also the reason you stream music/videos off of your PC. I am not sure if this is the official reason though but that's what I've read so many people say at other forums (not a reliable source which is why not 100% sure on this.) I find it best to pretend the core version doesn't exist, because really it's just a waste of money. It's there just so Microsoft can say the 360 is affordable. I think they should just get rid of it. The premium should take its place and the elite should take the premiums place. It probably won't happen price wise but I think they should get rid of the Core because it really does not offer the complete 360 experience. Bigs - Do you know if the Elite is coming to your area? I assume you are not in the U.S because of your flag (not sure if that is suppose to represent where you're from or where you live.) I would just go for the Elite if you are in the U.S. It's right around the corner. You might not need the space right now but I think you'll find it useful later on. [GTA Man]cycon77foamy[GTA Man]
Just wanted to know.. Im getting a 360 soon hopefully and wanted to know.. 1. Is it true the VGA cables frrom Microsoft for 360 come with a RCA to jack Plug Converter? (Especially in the Aussie version pack) If not what stores sell them? (We dont have Radio Shacks in Australia (well Melbourne at least) though the store sounds cool ) 2. Im not gonna wait for the Elite since my Monitor doesn't have HDMI and im fine with VGA. Better then my old 1997 (well thats when we bought it who knows when it was made ) SD-TV though the 120gb HDD sounds good. I will dload my share of demos and such so do External USB HDD's work? Heck do USB Flash Sticks work? Thanks for your time.
EmSixTeen
cycon77foamy[GTA Man]' date='Apr 17 2007, 07:34'] <snip> 1. This is the MS branded VGA cable.. I can't be arsed looking at it to see what type of cable you want though, Googling was faster. 2. I tried my external drive in my 360, but it didn't come up.. Could just have been my specific drive though. Flash drives however are usable, though I don't think they can be used as memory cards. Can always delete demos if you run out of space, too.. Not like they're the full game or anything.

Platinum.
I was the dude with the audio problem, and mine didn't come with an adapter, but I bought mine from eBay so maybe that's why. To be honest it only cost me £2 to order another adapter from eBay anyway, so it's not that bad.

Bauer
I've been playing KOTOR on the 360. It lags at times and specific sounds cut out at random (footsteps, ambient music, or ALL of the sounds. If all the sounds cut out, they never come back, I have to reboot 360). May I ask what is the meaning of the bullsh*tery? It never did these things on my Xbox, and I wish I would have restarted playing the game on it instead of 360 (I've already put 10 hours into the game... I do NOT want to start over, this game is stressful ). Three questions: 1. Why is this lagging and audio problems occuring? It seems to have increased the farther I have gotten in the game. 2. Is it possible to create an FTP, um, thing, with my PC and 360? I may not know the terminology, but thanks to an online tut I created one with my Xbox. Hooray XBMC. Reason for this is because I want to be able to remove the savegame, etc. 3. Is anyone going to buy the minigolf arcade game? It's pretty fun, and I bet the multiplayer would be pretty cool. Anyone try it, etc.? Anyway, yay C&C3 demo!
Kanney
Hey all, So I'm not getting a PS3 because last time I checked I'm not an idiot. So I want a next gen console (have a Wii as it stands) Just some questions and pretty much your opinions of the console is what I would like thanks. First off, the Media Centre? I have read places that you can play media off a USB Mass Storage Device, I have a 30GB Ipod and am wondering does it work with that? Is it a good addition or a great addition to the Xbox. Second, Games, I recently played for the first time really on an Xbox 360 and played Pro Evo 6 and (being a huge fan of the ps2 version) was amazed, I loved it, I thought I'd have a problem with the controller but I actually like it. I've heard Gears Of War is great but I'm not sure about first persons on a console? Is it worth the buy? When I get one I would be looking to get a bundle with PES and GOW. Xbox Live: Whats the pricing with this (I'm in Ireland),I'm not fully sure exactly what you do, I know I need to buy a Wi-fi thing, but when I got the Wii, I bought a wireless router and a small network card usb thingy which my Dad plugs into his laptop and works on the lan, would the same USB network card thing work with the 360. Backwards Compatability? I've heard mixed things about this. My question is, can I go into Game the day after I buy my 360 and buy San Andreas for the Xbox, come home and it will work on the 360? And what is the Xbox Arcade? Similar to the Wii's Virtual Console? What accesories would you recommend to me, I would be buying the Premium. Of course a second controller anyway. Finally, what do you guys love most about the console? Your own personal preferences that make you like it so. I know that I could trawl through Wiki or other forums looking for solid answers to these but I'd prefer answers off people who actually have used it from a personal point of view and not the likes of a company (IGN, Gamespot etc.) Thanks for your replies! (hopefully )
Seddo
First off, the Media Centre? I have read places that you can play media off a USB Mass Storage Device, I have a 30GB Ipod and am wondering does it work with that? Is it a good addition or a great addition to the Xbox. Well you can use Media Center through you 360, just go to the link that it shows you on your 360 and then you can set it up so your 360 synchronize with your PC, once that's all done you will be able to have all your music and video's that is on your PC through Media Center on your 360. Well Gears of War is not really a 1st person game it just when you aiming, other than that it's mostly 3rd person gaming. If you gonna buy a 360 bundle pack i suggest getting it with Gears of War to start your 360 world to the maximum, becuase the graphics and gameplay is amazing. Well Xbox Live here is roughly 40 quid depending on where you get it from (not really sure on the Euro thing so i'm sure you could work it out. ) you can either buy a 'Live' card from you local game store, online store or by putting some card details through the Xbox it self. I don't know if they still do it but you should start off witha free months trial. The wireless thing still should work with your 360. Backwards Compatibility? I've heard mixed things about this. My question is, can I go into Game the day after I buy my 360 and buy San Andreas for the Xbox, come home and it will work on the 360? And what is the Xbox Arcade? Similar to the Wii's Virtual Console? All your backward compatibility questions should be answered here. XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) is somewhere that you can download little trials of old classic games and if you like them you can download the whole game via Microsoft Points, which is just like an Xbox currency. What accessories would you recommend to me, I would be buying the Premium. Of course a second controller anyway. Well all your accessories needs would come in the premium pack of the 360, so the only thing you'll need to buy if you want to is a second controller and maybe a DVD remote and Vision camera if you really want to. Finally, what do you guys love most about the console? Your own personal preferences that make you like it so. Achievements, i just love it when one of those baby's pop up. Playing with your friends with no problems at all, sending text, voice and even picture message with use from the vision cam, also your own little personal gamercard. plus the Xbox.com forums have a forum for every single game plus loads of other categories.
