i have a question, if the 360 is tanking in japan, why are there still japanese-only games? why are the devs limiting themselves to a limited number of consoles with millions of consoles elsewhere. i want onechanbara vortex a topless chick in a cowboy hat slicing zombies with a sword, what more could you ask for?

What I don't like, is how you get the fanboys, and their like "OMG 7h3 360 and PS3 1s go1ng t0 d13 against W11" I personnally think 360 Going to Win, but I wish that the PS3 was better, like the major point at the moment is the fact you can link your PSP to it to watch movies, etc

ps3 only has black, there were black 360 concepts too, but nothing came of it. if they make a black wii, i may buy it, sell my white one. i don't think its gonna be very easy to blackify it or its components 1. because its shiny, and 2 because of the f*cking triangle screws in theory, the vinyl die

 

the 360 wasn't bad to do, but its still more hastle than it should be. the controllers are "security" torx screws so you need a torx driver with a small hole in the middle.....or a small drill bit to snap the pin out of the screw.

I'm sure the PS3 has Black, Silver ands White, at my Local Target they have a cardboard mock up of those 3 colors there, not to mention that it was announced....

MS is trying to crack the stubborn Japanese market. I consider it almost offensive that the 360 has such a huge library games, yet PS3 sold quickly over there. It defies all logic.

 

I guess they really love their Gundam crap over there.

 

But at least Blue Dragon caused huge lines in Japan. I say, MS will eventually crack the Japanese market, with enough JRPG's and such.

 

Anyway, I haven't had any new games in a while. I sold Gears Of War and Call Of Duty 3. I'm waiting for Crackdown this Feb.

Anyways, Crackdown and Assassin's Creed are going to be my favorite 360 games of all time once I have them. I just know it. I've played the demo so much I could kill someone.

That picture you posted of the 360, is that the one you have?

 

And the PS3 does have three colors. Black was chosen for launch. When Sony introduced the PS3, they introduced it in Silver. They showed three colors in pictures though. Black, White and Silver. I think Sony could have used Black for U.S and Japan; release the Silver in Europe and a year or two later release it in White in all territories.

 

I am not sure if anyone here saw it, but on GameSpot a few people posted pictures of a black Xbox 360 on Best Buy's ad, everyone was saying that Microsoft plans on releasing it with the new improved processor.

 

EDIT: Looks like the black 360 is yours.....it's not painted is it? There is a website which is releasing PS3 in different colors before Sony does. They already have a white and silver one released. They are working on a red one right now. Is that how you had yours done? or you did it yourself?

Honestly, no.

 

And I've actually been waiting for this game since Fall '05, when Game Informer made it their cover story.

 

I bet a whoooole lotta people are gonna jump on the bandwagon like they did with Saint's Row, which coincidentally, I also was waiting for since '05.

 

I really think this game has massive potential. Because unlike Saints Row, this game is doing a lot of new stuff. It's innovating in the open-world genre.

 

In fact, as soon as Back To The Future is finished on AMC, I will go dl the demo.

 

Though I'm a bit pissed it's being bundled with a Halo 3 beta. I think this game should be bought/judged on it's own merits, and while I would love to play the beta, I think it's a bit unfair, and this game's reputation will be tainted..

I love Crackdown. The first night I had that demo, I played for about 5 hours straight. A couple of nights ago I got on with a friend of mine, and it increesed fun by 100%. My favoite part was when I was two agility and strength levels above him and I ran up and kicked him down. I let him back up and he started to run, but I was just so much faster. Then he realised it was like Superman vs a weasle and he just let me kill him. Oh how we laughed.

I actually love the white colour scheme, I am really sick of black consoles now what with the PSP, PS2 and Gamecube I've got all being black you can hardly blame me?!

 

Just got my 360 back after I sent it away for repair, the DVD Drive crapped itself which is no surprise as it was the first and inferior drive like the Thompson back with Xbox1. They replaced it with the newer and better drive so its quiter and actually reads discs.

 

A question to our Canadian friend, with the HD-DVD addon does it need to connect to your TV separately or does it go through the Component or VGA cables of the 360? It comes out here soon so was wondering how it connects. Would it be worth it even though my TV only goes up to 720p? Or wouldn't it even work?

the crackdown demo is amazing, i've got full agility, full strength and full driving in different times. I'm going to play again soon to see what the explosions are like when they're at level 4.

 

Also i think the white PS3 looked the best, i hope they release that colour here in teh UK whenever it's coming out - march or something i think. Not going to buy it at launch though, not enough reason, 360 stole most of the exclusives. DMC4 and MGS4 are the only things i want on the PS3 atm. And DMC4 has been rumoured to come to the 360 so i've got my fingers crossed for that.

Definately love the Crackdown demo. I got my 360 back last Monday after it broke. Wasn't mine I got back but the one I got works fine so far.

 

I don't want a black 360, i'm bored of dark consoles. The white stands out and shows it off better.

I wouldn't rely on rumors so much. Kojima wanted more space for the game, said 25GB isn't enough (MGS4 most probably will be on 50GB) so obviously DVD9 is definitely not enough. Kojima's next game will be on the Wii, not the 360.

Because maybe he's not familiar with the 360's hardware? The dev kits? Maybe he doesn't know a thing about how much of that data can be compressed to fit on the DVD?

I was so pissed off when many gaming sites jumped on the bandwagon of Gears of War being the best (360) game last year. Bollocks was it. Dead Rising, Oblivion, RB6: Vegas, GRAW, Hitman. All games that are ten fold better than GoW. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game with ground breaking graphics. But the story sucks arse after the second chapter (and is non-exsistant in the end), the multiplayer is boring and limited and the gameplay was stale. It just felt like a tech demo. But as I said, it was good just not as good as they make it out to be.

 

Oblivion was by far the best, I'm still playing that game now a year on. Now that's value for money that my wallet likes.

Oblivion should have won more awards than it did, but at the time most were chosen, gears was "it", but in reality, there were so many genuinely good games this year, i don't think i could have pointed at one and said "that was the best" 2007 is looking to be even better too with forza 2, too human, mass effect, alan wake(possibly), crackdown, bioshock, GTA 4, and something about a game with a "halo" or something

Got my 360 back yesterday, gave me a new DVD Drive so I am happy to have it back. Now all I need is 12 Months XBL Gold and I am set for the Crackdown demo which right now I can't even download on account of being on Silver.

 

Been trying to get this TVersity Program working which should enable me to stream and play video files from my PC to my 360 that normally aren't supported by the 360 such as Xvid avi files. It also allows streaming of internet video and audio feeds which is rather cool. It just won't work for me in regards to Xvid files which are what all of my Heroes, Top Gear and My Name Is Earl episodes are in.

Gears Of War was so incredibly overrated, it's rediculous. The graphics are nowhere near as good as hyped, the music is almost non-existent, the gameplay is very stale(cover, shoot, cover shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot, cover, shoot), and the multiplayer doesn't seem that good either.

 

Oblivion obliterates Gears Of War. The graphics look much better. Just go up into the snowy mountains when there's a blizzard in the middle of the day, you'll see. Splinter Cell: Double Agent also looks much better than Gears of War.

 

Music? Oblivion has an incredible soundtrack, Gears Of War sounds generic and rehashed.

 

Gameplay? Do you even have to ask? 8 hours in Gears Of War vs. all the stuff in Oblivion? The main quest alone is much longer than the campaign in Gears Of War, but it's all the extra stuff you can do that really puts this game so far ahead of GOW. There are just so many places to explore, so many things to collect, so many secrets to find, etc. And we are getting wonderful support from Bethesda when it comes to downloadable content. We already have our first expansion, a bunch of new map areas, and now another huge expansion on the way.

 

Gears Of War? Two new maps.

 

Man, Oblivion is such a better game it's a joke. Speaking of Oblivion, I finally got past that Mythic Dawn meeting you go to with Baurus. Last time I tried that, with my first character, he had some really bad weaknesses with magic, and I could not beat them. So I restarted the game with a new character, and I don't have to worry about magic weaknesses anymore. Now I'm really enjoying the combat since my new character is much better.

 

I made my way to the Mythic Dawn shrine, and I could use some tips. I have almost 100k gold, and I read you have to leave all your items with one of the members in the shrine. Is there a way to progress without losing all my stuff? Any other tips for this particular quest?

First off, I don't have the 360, my roommate does. But hey, I play it as nearly much as him so I'm set.

 

I agree with you on Gears of War being overrated, but it's still an incredible game especially when you play with someone else. But Oblivion just shatters it in nearly every aspect, especially gameplay. With all the downloadable content it has(especially on PC), you can easily find yourself with 100+ hours of your life gone by the end of the month. The story I found in GoW lacked too, completely the opposite for Oblivion, plus with all the side missions you can only imagine (unless you've played it of course).

 

Anyway, about the Mythic Dawn quest, I believe you can just give your stuff to the member in question, but you'll either have to hunt him down and kill him or go looking for a chest to find all of it, can't remember which one exactly. But, like I usually do whenever I'm about to be captured by the guard, I drop all my stuff in a secluded area, usually in the middle of Cloud Ruler. It's a bitch if you try to fight your way out, so in my opinion run like no other.
