hags
Well, howdy guys, i have a very weird problem to throw in the pot, hope you guys know a remedy: Everytime i get to the very first mission, the blue mission image appears and does...nothing. Meanwhile i can switch tasks, and the game itself doesnt exit or crash, it just stops doing anything it should in the first place. I tried solving the issue with moving the audio files in the respective directory, but that didnt change anything. Everything else works just fine until i drive to the circle in fron of Luigis bar. Didnt encounter any problems with my old rig. Edit: Actually, i have another akward error: Now i entered the game again and the video played twice, afterwards the texts were translucent, the whole screen darker, and the question wheter i want to exit the game or not wasnt seeable at all. Settings: 1024*768 in 32 bit, no widescreen, trails, frame limiter or frame sync, visibility up to max. System: Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 Ghz 266Mhz FSB 2048 MB Non-ECC Unbuffered Buffalo DDR2Ram at 533Mhz in SC (+ Almost 4 gig pagefile) Sparkle GeForce 7900GT 256MB (Nvidia driver 91.47, Direct X 9.0c Dec) at stock speed Asus P5VD2-MX (VIA P4M890) 160gig Western Digital PATA HDD 2MB cache (Almost 50% free, one partition) Philips DVD writer Lightscribe Onboard soundcard (Realtek AC97 with Soundmax drivers) plus Logitech X-230 2.1 speakers PS/2 noname mouse and keyboard Lexmark X2310 USB printer Win XP home SP2 Appreciate any help! Edit edit: It seems to be connected with the resolution. The game itself runs smooth as butter, but when it comes to the splash screens it feels like it would slow down considerably- While it appears reading from the CD (Or waiting to do so). I could see this by the mission title fading in and out very slowly, like the options do in the menu (Until the point of invisibility). That has an impact on the car too, when im driving backwards, its slow as hell, as it would struggle or accelerate painfully tediously. When i tried the game on lowest settings, everything went fast, except the menu again. But for what then such a rig if i have to play the game in oogly mode? Is there anything against that? hags
Ok guys, i figured it out myself To prevent these issues i had (Tedious or nonexistent loading during splashscreens, slow fading of menus, car almost motionless when driving backwards), simply put either "Frame limiter" or "Frame sync" on "ON". Id rather set the frame sync on, though, since that setting provides much smoother gameplay.
