Canofceleri
I've appreciated this show for sometime now as quite possibly my favorite. I don't think I've ever been as loyal a fan to any show as I have to Curb... if I see it listed I turn on the HBO every time. In addition to the DVDs I have and the (you should assume legal) downloads I have on my PC. If you haven't heard of or paid attention to the show, it's a half-hour HBO show that's been running for five seasons now. It's a show that follows Larry David, the co-creator, writer, and really the brilliance behind the show Seinfeld). The world of CYE features many celebrities portraying themselves, Larry is one of them. Much has been said that Curb is just like a dirtier version of Seinfeld, a version that takes everything to the next level. And it is to an extent, it's been said that if Seinfeld is a show about nothing then Curb is a show about less... but it's more nuanced and intelligent and really has a lot to say about communication and the human condition in general, namely Larry's human condition. Larry David is a sympathetic character, especially the more and more you watch him. This is definitely one of those shows that grows on you the more and more you watch it... at first I liked it okay... but now I just love it. It's due entirely to the nature of the show. Since the show is pretty much built on this guy Larry David being socially unacceptable, saying things before thinking about them, being an asshole, or just being weird, the joy of the show is truly seeing how deep this guy gets himself in and then seeing his reaction (sometimes, in fact the majority of the time, everything is just a terrible misunderstanding, or people just really overreact, see Jeff's wife), and thanking God that you're not him (though not really, I would be socially unacceptable if my bank account matched his). I strongly suggest anyone who hasn't seen the show checking it out. Inevitably there will be many who don't like it as much as they would if they stuck it out and kept watching... the best part is learning the character and mannerisms of Larry and knowing exactly what's gonna happen next. San Andreas Nut
I f*cking love this show, I watch it when I can on Foxtel at mates house. last episode I saw was when Larry was accused of having an ass fetish hilarious.
No Escape?
Have the first three seasons on DVD, and love them. The unspeakable humor that is Larry David bonding with a black rapper cannot be overstated. "Are you my Caucasian? Are you my Caucasian?"
TheDude5000
I've been watching this show for some time now, and it keeps getting funnier...every! Time! I! See! It!(My Michael Keaton impression) The sixth season is probably still being filmed, I hope it premieres this year.
Jordan
Wow what a coincedence! I just finished watching the last episode of season five. I finished all of them. I still love the Shaq episode the best. After he trips Shaq at the basketball game, things start to go so right for him...everything is working out...and then WHAM!...a car splashes water on him and that genius music plays that always plays when things have hit rock bottom. During this, it usually starts and lingers for about 10 seconds and then the video shot switches to an exterior of his home, and then shortly to an interior of him talking to his wife. I love this show. Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm are so awesome. I can't stand people that have no good excuse for not liking the shows! Andyzoot
Don't get me started on Curb. I only got into it last year but I absolutely love it. I just love how a meaningless scene in the early parts of the episode always comes back to bite Larry in the ass later on such as Larry's comment about Wanda's ass in the ass fetish episode that was mentioned earlier on. I admit I only have the first two seasons at the moment but I can assure you that I will complete the collection. My favourite episode that I have seen so far is probably The Ski Lift from Season 5. I thought Larry pretending to be a orthodox Jew was great!
Canofceleri
Yeah, Larry pretending to be Orthadox was funny. "I would have loved to seen the Yankees play-- but I said NO! Not on the Sabbath!" or something like that. lol. He was tooooo obvious.
Jordan
lol, and everytime the real Orthodox Jews said something that sounded like gibberish to Larry, Larry would respond with a bit of gibberish, lol
Andyzoot
Larry: It's a shame... Othodox Jew: (Hebrew) Larry: ah gabaherishen Othodox Jew's Daughter: Excuse me? Larry: mascherishien and it was hella funny in the following episode where he see's the Jew's daughter again only this time she has breat implants and Larry walks over saying "Nice to see you again" while doing a 'big breast gesture' with his hands. Nick Papagiorgio
I LOVE Curb. It is purely genius. As Candarelli said, it's like Seinfeld x2 with the diriness factor. It's the only HBO series I watch, along with the Sopranos. It is a great show indeed. Larry literally created himself into everything that is asshole. He portrays himself in the show as the epitimy (sp?) of assholes. I just love it. "Out goes y-o-U!! I'm out. That means I win!" and "f*ck, Huuuuugh. f*ck Huuuugh...." When he's cussing out that Hugh guy at a screening. I particularly loved the episode where he gives his kidney to Richard Lewis. It was hilarious. The man is pure genius. A definite must-see for anyone who has never seen it.
Exkabewbikadid
I'm so pissed at myself for knowing about this show for so long and only in the past 3 months have I gotten into it. The first episode I saw, I thought "meh" and didn't even give it a fair chance... and that's only because, like a dipsh*t, I turned it on half way through and didn't know what the f*ck was going on. Then about a month later I caught an episode from the beginning and realized I had been overlooking pure gold. Just the kind of interactions Larry gets himself into mkaes it so easy to relate to the character. It's amazing how I can deeply empathize with the his frustrations, almost to the point that I can't sit still, and yet laugh my ass off all at once. I plan to get the DVDs very soon. jimmy.
I used to watch Curb all the time. It was the show back when it debuted for me. I love how improvved it is and some of the guest stars like Wanda Sykes are classic. It's very dead on about the nuances of polite conversation among fake Hollywood people. I love the complex situations they construct for a socially awkward climax when everything backfires on Larry. I think I've just watched it too much because I've seen some of the past season and I've just found it too repetitive. It's major fault is that it revolves entirely around one guy. Every scene, Larry is in it and being juvenile and antisocial and complaining about the most insignificant things while at interrupting everyone. Don't get me wrong, Larry's hilarious, but it got a little tiring for me after a while. If Seinfeld, which had a somewhat similar humor, had Jerry in every scene, it definitely wouldn't have been as enjoyable. Despite that, I do watch it sometimes when it's on. Benjimino234
The Seinfield Reunion shows and parts just aired in Australia and I was hyped. I'm only on part 2 so no spoilers! I love this show, you can tell that it was a Larry David production, even if it wasn't played by him. All the coincidences and series of unfortunate events is pure Seinfeld classic'ness. Fnorg
This season has been pure gold, dare I say, best yet? Even the episodes without the Seinfeld cast have been better than usual. Man, I love this show.
Andyzoot
The latest episode was a bit strange no? Some surreal moments but the final 5 seconds was just pure brilliance.
Fnorg
The latest episode was a bit strange no? Some surreal moments but the final 5 seconds was just pure brilliance. The bit where the old bat ran over Lewis was brilliant, and the Jesus tear. Best episode so far, I haven't laughed out loud like this in ages. Canofceleri
I'd have to agree that this season is among the best, if not the best so far. Every episode has been consistently great. The last one with the pee on Jesus felt a little lost but totally made up for it in literally like the last two minutes of the show. I think the highlight for me this season and with Curb in general, was in episode three, when Larry pretty much summed the show's theme up in one scene... he daydreams would it be better to save the NBC exec and through that keep the reunion going and get back Cheryl, or let the exec die and eat his mortal victory up at the guy's funeral? In a moment of brilliance he decides it's a win-win and tosses a coin. Pure f*cking brilliance.
asimov
Eh, I heard lots of good things about this show so I bought the first season. It was allright I guess. My local library happened to have seasons 3 and 4 so I got them out and watched them. Not really feeling it anymore. Every episode seemed to be one giant coincidence. Don't get me wrong, that can still be funny, but all the characters seems to overreact at an insane level and behave in no way like real people would when faced with those situations. Again, that can still be funny, but the way the show is filmed (more like standup improvisation than anything) means there are always weak spots. I always just get this vibe that the only reason the show is still running is because Larry David is who he is, whereas a lesser known producer would probably have been canned by now. Benjimino234
The random conversations in Seinfeld and the Curb are like examining things that really aren't important and boring. Like whether doing up the top button of a shirt makes you look good or gay, or the positioning of where the top button should be... Whether if it is too high and can choke you or low enough that a tie can't do up properly. I like those random talks about something so insignificant. Funny stuff. Maelstrom09
Curb is a fantastic show. When I first saw it, I didn't really like it too much, but I stuck with it and over time it has become one of my favourite comedy shows. In some ways it is similar to a few British shows such as I'm Alan Partridge or The Office, basically just comedy about the day-to-day situations these people get themselves into, and how they play out, always proves very funny viewing in all three shows. So yeah, Curb is awesome and you should definitely check it out if you haven't seen it already. The new series is great aswell, looking forward to the next episode. Otter
I've caught a few episodes in the past, and I really loved it, but not enough to hunt down each episode. Now, however, I'm hooked. Started with the start of this season and I love every second of it. I rarely laugh that hard at anything.

Blind Joe Death
I LOVE this show. More so than Seinfeld, which I could never fully appreciate. The new season has proven to be brilliant thus far. Watched the Seinfeld reunion pt. 2 the other night, and will probably go down as one of my favourite episodes. So damn clever and I just couldn't stop laughing.
Don Garcia
Jerry really had some great lines the last episode; the exchanges between him and LD were great. Especially at the diner, with Richard Lewis: The Invisible Jew. "You want the luxury suite!"
darthYENIK
I always know when my dad is watching this in his room, because he laughs louder than I ever hear him laugh. Of course five minutes later he comes out and asks me if I've watched it yet.
