TheDude5000
Man, there are so many great movies that still haven't been double/triple/whatever dipped on DVD, with a good set of special features. Movies I'm still waiting to see special editions of: -The Terminator (1984) There are so many editions of this movie, but none have the quality/amount of features that the T2 Ultimate/Extreme Edition DVD's have -Last Action Hero (1993) An underrated classic that really should have an SE DVD. It is only trashed because it didn't beat Jurassic Park at the box office. It's a great spoof of the action genre, and would have been a bigger hit in '93 if it weren't for JP. Contrary to popular belief, both Last Action Hero and The Cable Guy were not flops at the box office. And both movies' lead stars went on to make "comebacks" with True Lies and Liar Liar anyway. -The Cable Guy (1996) Another underated gem of a dark comedy. Really needs some special features, especially deleted scenes. This movie has a cult following, who are just waiting for a new DVD.. -Taxi Driver (1976) This one is just plain ridiculous. One of the most critically hailed movies of all time hasn't had a DVD in almost a decade. A DECADE. And what's worse, a lot of Scorcese's classics had anniversary editions. Goodfellas, Raging Bull, and more recently, Casino all came out within the past 5 years, with a load of special features and improved video transfers. Last year was the 30th anniversary, and there was no DVD! What the hell is all that about? I've only been waiting for a new DVD since 2004! -Falling Down (1993) Another underrated movie from the 90's. A great performance from Michael Douglas, a strong script, interesting characters, a good look into how early 90's LA looked and felt. -Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke (1978) -Cheech & Chong's Next Movie (1980) -Cheech & Chong's Nice Dreams (1981) -Cheech & Chong's Still Smokin' (1983) All 4 of these are classics, that only got barebones releases. -Singles (1992) A great showcase of early 90's Seattle, with cameos from many bands and record execs. Probably mostly of interest to Cameron Crowe fans, and those interested in that times/places music scene. -Waynes World (1992) Another awesome 90's SNL movie. Great rock references, incredibly quotable, and just plain kick-ass. -Waynes World 2 (1993) Scwhing! Tommy Boy got a special edition, so should the Waynes World movies.. -Kingpin (1996) Which brings me to these two. Kingpin was an awesome comedy directed by the Farrely Brothers. Ernie McCracken, one of the funniest characters in movie history, really. -Black Sheep (1996) A pseudo-sequel to Tommy Boy (1995), a movie that did recieve a Special Edition in '05. Now I know a lot of the movies I listed have a lot of people who don't like them, but I don't give a crap. Instead of insulting movies I like, share with us movies you would like to see recieve the Special Edition treatment.
Andyzoot
How about Sin City Extended and Recut get's a Region 2 release I remember seeing a Taxi Driver box set thing once which came with all sorts of lobby cards and all that and you can send off for an exclusive poster or something. Groovy
Army of Darkness needs a proper dicrectors cut release, as in, not the sh*tass looking one Anchor Bay put out here in america with only dolby 2.0 and a real sh*tty picture, but the one MGM put out in Australia or something. Dolby 5.1 with a fully remastered picture.

Another thing, what's with all these awesome non Region-1 exclusives? I mean, a lot of these movies/shows were the biggest in AMERICA, yet we can't even buy them! Kinda like Transformers Headmasters, that recieved a dub and DVD release in Europe, but that show has never even aired over here(and TF:G1 was a mass phenomena in America). Now I have to get like 5 torrents just to see a badly subtitled show which I would gladly buy if they would release the damn thing with a proper dub! topdogkiller
A taxi driver special edition would be awwesome, the history and influence of travis bickle, scorsese and the .44 magnum. I'd also love to see a collector's edition of mean streets because since this is the year of scorsese, we should really get a look back to the movie that really lanched his name. Another would be a collector's edition of serpico because it's probably one of those movies that people rarley think of. It's probably one of the best cop movies, al pachino did an excellent job with his role which was based of a true story. I was about to say the french connection and dog day afternoon but then I realized they already had special and collector's editions.
Andyzoot
How about releasing Animal House with all the proper f*cking music?! I'm not sure about the region 1 disc, but Region 2 we have to put up with some crap music put over the top, all it has is 'Louie Louie'. Where is 'Wonderful World' by Sam Cooke?! Mister Zero
I think films that have had higher grossing deserve Special Editions, such as Star Wars, Titanic, Team America, that sort of thing. Also, films that have extras people actually want to see, like out takes, making of's, deleted scenes and stuff. You get those in 2 discs jobs regularly but not all are special editions. Hey..wait second..whats this?! http://www.amazon.com/Taxi-Driver-Two-Disc...83227574&sr=8-2 It couldn't possibly be the special edition DVD that I've been waiting for 3 years to buy, would it? Yes it is! Oh, and what's this? Oliver Stone's 80's classic Wall Street?! http://www.amazon.com/Wall-Street-20th-Ann...83227574&sr=8-2 Oh, and ROBOCOP 20TH ANNIVERSARY FEATURING TWO CUTS OF THE MOVIE?! http://www.amazon.com/Robocop-Anniversary-...83227574&sr=8-2 Man this is just so f*cking great. TheDude5000
You forgot to mention the Commando directors cut. Oh yeah I read about that on IMDB as well. Though that flick is on AMC all the time anyway, I don't know if I'll buy the DVD just for the features.

Demarest
T2 is easily the king of this topic. The menus were superb and the Ultimate edition features a "second movie." Jay and Silent Bob Strike back. Half the deleted scenes should've stayed in. LOTS of extras. Been a long day. All I can think of right now.

Half the deleted scenes should've stayed in. LOTS of extras. Been a long day. All I can think of right now. No one asked for a list of DVDs already out. Kill Bill special editions, uncut, how long have we been waiting for these? All the Leon DVDs look like ass, long over due a proper transfer. The Heat special edition is okay feature wise, but they just reused the same transfer, it doesn't look as good as this masterpiece deserves to be, it's not terrible or anything but it was really f*cking lazy to reuse a 5 year old print. Kubrick 2 disc DVDs are taking a long ass time to come out. I've still seen no sign of the super duper 4 disc Blade Runner, but there's still plenty of time I guess. Otter
I'm looking forward to the criterion collection coming out in 1080p. That's going to knock my bleeding socks off. I cherish my copy of Brazil like a Korean sex slave. Speaking of sex slaves, Flesh Gordon and Cannibal Holocaust both need a proper special edition. And Mac and Me. And after waiting f*cking millenia for 'Wizards," I was a little let down by the quality.
Crokey
With the recent increase in interest in it/them due in part to the first GTA:IV trailer, the Qatsi trilogy. Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoyqatsi, it would be nice to see a special edition release plus maybe some digital remastering to at least the first installment. Scarface187
I believe the 4 disc Blade Runner is coming out sometime this year. Oh f*ck yes. Speaking of sex slaves, Flesh Gordon and Cannibal Holocaust both need a proper special edition. I thought the Cannibal Holocaust DVD looked alright from what I saw. The special features looked alright. The animal cruelty free version is a good idea if you don't feel like watching someone get raped and seeing a turtle get dismembered within the same hour and a half. Has there been any A Clockwork Orange special editions about? I've only seen the regular one that was part of the Stanley Kubrick collection. Oh and I wish they'd pull out some Die Hard special editions too. And yeah, I want my Kill Bill uncut special editions too.

Attorney General
My rotten luck had it so I purchased Goodfellas, Dog Day Afternoon, Heat, Carlito's Way and The Departed and a number of others before I realized that there was special editions out. I actually re-bought a few of them...I couldn't resist. As for unreleased movies that I'd like to see a special edition for...well, I heard that Tarantino is finally putting out the uncut full version. Plus I'd like to see Death Proof in it's entirety once it is released on it's own on DVD. TheDude5000, Kingpin is one of my favorite comedies too. Harrelson and Murray were absolutely hilarious in it. Shooting this great flick certainly provided some hilarious scrapped scenes and outtakes that could be added to the bonus material. Speaking of Woody Harrelson, White Men Can't Jump is another one that I'd love to see outtakes and deleted scenes from. Woody and Wesley Snipes were dynamite in this underrated comedy. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was a total underachiever in my eyes. I suppose I still enjoy the movie, but I always felt that it never did the book the justice that it deserved. I always hoped that they would put some real footage of Hunter Thompson on an extra DVD. Anything with him interacting on the set would be a sweet addition to the mediocre movie. He doesn't appear in any deleted scenes(which are on the DVD), but there is a commentary track featuring him, and I believe there are more features that he might be a part of, on the disc. Not too sure about that one, and even though you didn't seem to like it, the Criterion DVD does do it justice and gives you a lot more info on the movie itself. So if you wanted to give the movie another chance, that would definitely be the DVD to get. Nice avatar btw, I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the 2-Discer Taxi Driver DVD
