88survivor Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 I caught a few of them that are small such as: "Female Announcer says 'Grandparents forever' at the end of the taxedermy commercial"- Weird Science reference "Top Fun"- Top Gun reference "Just The Five"- two 80s shows referenced such as Just The Ten of Us(spin-off of Growing Pains), but more on the show, "Diff'rent Strokes", due to its small co-star, Timmy. Kaufmann Cabs-- named after Andy Kaufmann who was on the TV show Taxi... and the garage at Kaufman Cabs looks like the garage from the show.... Multiple Scar Face references..... The story line is based on the movie Scarface. The take over of the mansion, the deal that went bad, your best pal backstabbing you, the final mansion shoot out with the various forelli members, the era of cocaine, the Mr. Vercetti suit... f*ck, everything. The Regina(station wagon is reminiscent of the car to which Ferris Bueller's mother drives) and not to mention the song played at the beginning of Ferris Bueller's Day Off during the infamous "skipping school" rules as to staying sick during school(played famously by Mathew Broderick), Sigue Sigue Sputnik's Love Missile F1-11. Not to mention the bitchy mesh top girl having a Molly Ringwald attitude(You freakin' freak!) Kim Wilde's Kids In America found in the 1984 movie(starring Daryl Hannah and Aidan Quinn) Reckless. Mr. Mister's Broken Wings heard in Band of The Hand and a made for T.V kid's movie that starred Chad Allen called Help Wanted: Kids. Night Ranger's Sister Christian is heard in Boogie Nights(which also starred Burt Reynolds' playing a porn director, not to mention starring in the Cannonball Run sequels as well as Smokey and The Bandit sequels, too) I'm sure there is more...but so many!
