omega_c
This is really starting to get on my nerves. I just bought GTAVC and SA. Neither of them work. I bought them new (off amazon), and they both installed great, but they come up with errors when I try to start the game. (The one in the title, for SA, and theres another topic in the VC forums for my other problem). I'm using an inspiron e1505 laptop with: Windows XP Pro (version 2002) Service Pack 2 Intel Core 2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66 GHz 1.66GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM Any other info I should provide? Oh, btw, I looked in the "offical bug thread", but it seemed to be mostly only in-game glitches. Thanks! EDIT: By the way, I'm using the 2nd edition of SA. gillies
Some details about the graphics hardware will help, as far as I know the Inspiron 6400 is available with a Intel onboard graphics thing or a Radeon X1400 with half dedicated and half system shared memory setup, the Intel one could be a problem if the memory is adjustable and not enough has been allocated to it for running a game like this. Or it could be some other problem altogether. To get the information quickly click Start, Run, type dxdiag into the box then press ENTER, once it is loaded click Save All Information... and open the DxDiag.txt file, then copy and paste everything under the Display Devices heading into a post here. Brutuz
Its probably the graphics, as thats a sick CPU, one of the best out atm, and the RAM is enough for playing SA, I've got a Gigabyte of RAM too.
omega_c
Hey, sry. I called rockstar, and apparently none of their games will work on a widescreen laptop. period. Ugh. I have a desktop that I working on right now, trying to get it up and running. I'm going to post in the general forums.
gillies
They all work on mine. Official technical support for games is usually totally useless.

gillies
Inspiron 9400 (same as E1705). The only relevant difference between it and yours should be that it has a dedicated graphics card that isn't available with the E1505, which is why I asked about the video hardware you have earlier.
