Modelers can help?

(ZMod)

Ey. :3

Well, today, I decided to finally try to model something and get it in-game. I re-skinned the lsv3.txd and added a bandana around his neck, scaled to match him. However, from my past experiences of modeling in ZMod - I know that my models always crash the game. First, it was an attempt of making baggy pants, then I rescaled a ped, trying to make a midget. . . And, they always crash - fact.

I figured out it was because I can't render (or whatever making Zmod files work in GTA is called) them properly. . . Probably. So, what I'm asking, anybody minds helping me to make this file work in-game? I uploaded the .rar which includes all of the files, models and textures, I used.

http://rapidshare.com/files/13090619/remodel.rar.html

Files in the archive,

_screen.jpg - screenshot of the model (buh, you see it here)

bandgang.bmp - texture for the bandanna model (Is for the Matte:FFFFFFFF line in ZMod's Material Editor)

bandmask.dff - model of the bandanna

lsv3.bmp - texture of the ped (Is for the lsv line in ZMod's Material Editor)

lsv3.txd - .txd file including the .bmp

lsv3.dff - model of the ped

neckcross.png - texture of the ped's chain (Is for the neckcross line in ZMod's Material Editor)

lsv3.z3d - The ZMod file.

I spent some time on the model, so help would be much appreciated. :3 Ow. Also, it would be really nice if after, you'd explain to me how you did it, because I might attempt other remodels in the future and I don't want to be asking to render each of them. :3

Thanks in advance,

D.

have you been attemping to rig your models? or just trying to import your mesh.

if you try and just import a SA DFF mesh into San Andreas, its going 2 crash.

you need to take your mesh and rig it in a programme such as 3Ds max before it will work in game

find a guide to rigging here

back in the mists of time, i BEILIVE (now im not 100% sure of this) i might have once read about Z2 being capable of rigging meshs. HOWEVER i have NO clue how to do this, and practically every modder on this Forum uses 3Ds max to get their rigging done

Oki, thanks for the help. Getting 3Ds. I hope it works fine. :3

Ow, wait, will GMax do the job too?

Yes it will if you use KAMs scripts for gmax. Just today I exported a rigged mesh from gmax into vice city. But I think SA is supported too, going by the looks of the GUI alone. :-)
