Master-Of-GTA
Hey everyone! I've got San Andreas v2 for PC and I've got a number of problems with it. Can somebody please help me out? My hair's not gonna last much longer... 1. When I pause the game (Escape key), the game might randomly freeze up and leave me with nothing but a black screen and a small chance that CTRL+ALT+DEL might work. I need a fix urgently, because getting 28 snapshots and having a freeze up is not good for my keyboard's physical health... 2. When I've been playing for a while, and it starts raining (in the game), all I can hear is rain, and the heavier the worse. I'm thinking that the rain might be taking up a few too many sound channels for it's own good, and I'd like a fix. Not urgent, but I'd like to fix it. 3. This a continuation on from number 2: when I've been playing for a very long time (ie. an hour or two), rain is the last thing that I want because it'll sieze up the sound channels again and when the rain dies away, it'll keep hold of it's used sound channels and won't give them back to the SFX, even though there's no raining sound. Do you know what I mean? Anyway, again, not urgent, but I'd like a fix soon. I've got no No-CD cracks or mods (except Pillager) installed, and I'm starting to think that my computer's got an overheating problem (that's why these thing are happening). Please save my game! FelipeVinhao
Somekind strange, happening with the v2. Your PC meet the system requirements? Tried not using no-CD and deleted the mods?
segvirion
Well, the rain problem is very common and patch 1.1 was supposed to fix those problems (I assume that you own v2, so you don't need the patch). But in my game the sound effects return to normal when there is no more rain. Try to play it in Windows 98 compatibility mode, it could help with all those problems (at least it fixed my "mouse is not responding" problem). gillies
From what I can remember when version 2.0 was newer people seemed to think that the 2.0 release didn't have any of the fixes from the 1.1 patch and so if you have one of the few problems that patch fixed there is no fix for you. There is a topic of collected audio fixes that might have something for you.
Master-Of-GTA
Thanks. Yeah, I have version 2, and the problems were still there when Pillager was not installed. My specs: Pentium 4 3.06GHz 512MB DDR2 RAM (128MB taken by graphics) ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Graphics (Integrated - 128MB RAM dedicated to it) Realtek Audio (says 'Realtek HD Audio output' in DXDIAG) I don't use the No-CD thing anymore (it was a CD image mounted in Daemon Tools), and I'm sure Pillager wouldn't have anything to do with it since it's just a main.scm replacement. I'll try running it in Windows 98 compatability though...
