SmellyJelly Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I'm looking into improving my mic quality in online games. It needs to be louder, and right now it's not very clear. I have an intergrated Sound Card, and a $20 mic. I only have money to upgrade one of them though. This Sound Card looks like the best Newegg has, but they don't have that wide of a selection. This Mic was also the best I could find for the price. My current headset was about $20. So which one should I buy for the best mic quality? *gta star* Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 First of all, make sure that you've checked all your mic volume and connections into the ports on your computer. To do this, click 'Start', 'Programs', 'Accessories', 'Entertainment' and 'Volume Control'. When you get onto that window, make sure that all the settings are on high, not medium or low, just adjust them to full. Tell me if that works. Because it is cheaper and you can save up some money for a soundcard later down the road and possibly get a better one, and with the headset you just need to plug it into the jack you don't need to worry about installing buggy POS drivers and opening your case or anything. From what i've heard senheisser is a good company too. I dunno, that is just my answer, because it is a bit cheaper, quicker and easier solution. And if you check newegg regularly and catch them on a good day, you can usually find good soundcards for super cheap. Brutuz Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 I don't get why people complain that their mics are sh*t quality, I've got two, my one that came free with some speakers in '95, and the one in my Webcam from 04, Both are good Quality too.
