Vito Leone
Well. I've seen some topics on the GTA4 forum and on the older GTA: NeXt about GTA in general. About timeline, characters, storyline, and resum`es of the GTA Series. So my suggestion would be: A place to refer and refrain to all the GTAs. To discuss about it all together. I have been planning a huge paragraph for this but I wanted to simplify it now. So yeah, that would be good. Also, a General Chat for the GTA3 section. It lacks one. Those would be good. Justin
Also, a General Chat for the GTA3 section. It lacks one. It's way too late for that - if a new forum was made in the GTAIII sub-category, it'd house a grand total of zero topics. By the end of 2007, it'd house a total of about fifteen. I do think that "general discussion" is what most of the current GTAIII topics clasify as, though, and thus propose the idea of renaming General PC Chat to General Discussion. Your main idea regarding a forum for discussion on all GTAs is a good one, though. In the VC forums I'm often confronted with topics ranging from the (possible and unlikely) connections between Tommy, Vic, Claude, CJ, Tony, etc., to the basic "which is better, SA or VC?". Every time there's an argument - and a valid one at that - which states that any discussion in the VC forums will be VC biased. Likewise for the SA forums and the III forums. It'd be nice to have a General GTA Discussion forum or the likes to cover these topics.

I do recall that when we were talking about the GTA3 area, that was MY suggestion . The GTA3 area in general is in need of a clean up though. For the few members who actually visit it regularly, browsing isn't a pleasant experience. And if it was to be cleaned up, perhaps we'd see an increase in the number of visitors there . MMFF
I agree, it sucks when you have a question pertaining to GTA in general, and you don't know where to put it. I agree that GTA3 general pc chat should be changed to general chat.
t0m
The GTA 3 'Gameplay' Section is where most of the general chat topics go. It's not hugely active so it's fine the way it is imo.
Vito Leone
Actually, that was my point... rename either Gameplay or General PC Chat. It would be the best of ideas to make a forum for talking about everything. and another thing, a moderator for the GTA3 forums would be nice as well, since demarest is basically gone. Justin
Gameplay is the most important of all GTA Series forums. It houses anything and everything about the games' missions, 100% completion tips, side missions, hidden packages, rampages, etc. Since GTAIII has been out for years now - and thus there's been years of discussion take place, simply searching its Gameplay section should yield perfectly sufficient results (although the forum pruning somewhat changes this, mind) on anything you'd like regarding those things mentioned above. Getting rid of it - or even renaming it - isn't a good idea. General Discussion is probably required in GTAIII because that's the only sort of activity that actually occurs these days - the "is Claude Tommy?", "does Claude speak?" sort of topics that are found in Gameplay or General PC Chat don't fit there. General PC Chat is abused by most as a forum for general discussion anyway, so a rename would essentially only be a formality for the few regulars that do frequent the area. If General PC Chat should stay in some form, I personally think Troubleshooting should be renamed to Troubleshooting/PC Chat... Most troubleshooting naturally occurs on the PC system as opposed to the PS2/X-Box, and I'd say it's the best approach short of creating a new forum which I believe we've already decided to be impractical. The "not active so it's fine" attitude is that of a lazy man, Tom. Vito, you know that Dem hasn't been a moderator of the III forums for quite some time, right? I think the last moderator was Barguast.

Justin
Vito, I understand. My post was in response to your thoughts on the GTAIII forums... I think the GTANeXt (now GTA4, I think) forum was always a suitable enough place for speculation topics across past/present/future GTA instalments - just like the ones you linked to. They're all in the GTAIV forum which isn't a huge problem seeing as it's full of speculation anyway. Perhaps GTANeXt will make a return once GTAIV is released - although I think an entirely new forum dedicated to general chat over the entire GTA franchise would be similarly (if not more) useful. Brutuz
A GTA general would be useful. It would help clean up the GTAIV section.

I don't see any need for a General GTA Section. Although it would clean up the GTA4 section, I don't think it would be very active. But I could be wrong. All-Blacks
And there is also the 'Which is you're favourtie GTA' or 'What GTA has the best missions' which will be biased if posted in the GTA3 section (of course most people who goes there likes the game, and probably their favourtie) for example. I think a General GTA Discussion would be quite useful for finding what you're looking for (How are people supposed to know that GTA Trivia is in the GTA4 section?) and what others said before me, it will clean/sort out the GTA parts of the forum. Also it would stop people flaming people for posting in the wrong GTA section (where else will they put it?) which really isn't their fault. I'm all in favour of the idea

Ottae
At first, I didn't agree, but I do now. A General GTA section may even make some more of the PGC active in the GTA Series chat because they won't be stuck talking about one GTA, instead talk about the entire series as a whole. Good idea

I guess the mods could give it a try and if the activity their sucks then they could close it. It's worth a try
