Adrena1in Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 Don't worry, this isn't another thread about wanting to know how to get 100%, or being stuck and wanting to get the final missions. After playing Vice City on and off for a few months I've finally completed all I want to really. (I'm not interested in getting 100%, because the unique jumps and rampages really don't interest me...though I would like to get all the hidden packages.) But what I'm asking is, when you've done all you want to in the game, do you load it up and do something just for fun? Perhaps you do the Sunshine Autos Races, and try to get record times? Perhaps you get a Rhino and drive aorund blasting everything to kingdom come? Perhaps you grab the Hunter and become a dangerous vigilante? That last option is my preferred time-wasting activity in the game. For me I have to go all the way to the Army Base, but it's a quick trip in a chopper. Feel I've got quite good at handling it as well, and within 6 or 7 kills I've got oodles of time to spare...more than enough to go and grab a Police Star to keep my wanted level down if necessary. (Haven't done any Police Chopper dog-fighting though...I wish general choppers and planes flying about were real so that you could shoot them down.) Of perhaps you're the sort of person who starts again, and doesn't play the game just for fun. (Suppose I ought to get San Andreas really.) Sorry, bit of a waffly thread! It's such an amazing game - the sheer freedom of gameplay means you can really do what you want and still have a bundle of fun. I also like performing high speed car chases. I get to six stars, and then go flying around in a Stinger, Comet or Cheetah. It's awesome to make some unique jumps and see from a fixed, slow motion camera a couple of cop cars flying through the air behind you in hot pursuit. Moved from VC Gameplay to VC General Discussion. SeanMcC Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 I like to drive around, do the Sunshine Autos races and race in the Hotring. Other than that I reload certain missions and replay them. I also beat The Driver repeatedly with quick times. No one need be stuck on that mission again. I've got the technique down. And I often replay whole chunks of missions. My favorite thing to do is to get a PCJ, start out at... say the biker shop/skumole shack, accelerate towards the harbor, and then pull a wheelie/stoppie the whole way there pretty fun once you get the hang of it. OR mod it if you have the PC version OR (and this is pretty fun) get a golf cart, do the small tires cheat 5 or 6 times, then do the fast engines cheat. really really fast golf cart Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Adrena1in Posted January 19, 2007 Author Share Posted January 19, 2007 I really must look into the Multi-Player mods... I've just started the game again. Like I did with GTA3, where I played it all (or most of) the way through, then did it again after making sure I got all the hidden packages first, so thanks to a great printout of where all the packages are, I'm starting again. (Want to make sure I remember all the missions this time!) Ought to muck about more on motorbikes too, because it seems a lot of people prefer them, whereas I don't. Give me a Cheetah any day! But I guess once you're more used to bikes they're good...I just keep craching too easily! But when all is said and done, and there's not much to do, it's still nice to just drive/ride/fly about, admiring the scenery, and feeling a "part" of the City. This sums up perfectly what I would do when not attempting missions. You would think it would get boring and repetitive but doing this is as much fun as anything else in the game. Rob stores and sh*t, f*ck with the cops, try to win races without fast cars (which is actually possible). Collect money from the properties, practice driving with good cars, handbrake turning and all that... just cruise around. Or I start the game all over again. Because Vice City rocks. You just need to get used to it. San Andreas for example, there's so many things you can do, there ain't no stopping you. Man, you just need someone to play it once, so you can try and do the same. Pat Posted January 23, 2007 Share Posted January 23, 2007 I tend to turn on Fraps, and record random things, from car comercials to stunt videos. One of my favorite things is to grab a Taxi, rob a jewlery store, and show how bad VC's Cop AI is. Other times, I'll get a Rhino and cruise down the strip in Downtown, turn around, and repeat. Then, at other times, I like to install map mods, like Myriad Islands, to see what they're like. Finaly, I make my own fake missions in Word, or just while I'm playing, then see if I can pull them off. You'd be suprised, if you put your mind to it you can make a mission you have trouble passing. soldier203 Posted January 30, 2007 Share Posted January 30, 2007 let's see, if i play the pc-version i like to turn on fraps and record my stunts and all that kind of stuff. when i'm playing the ps2-version i just like to relax, take it easy, walk around and everything, sometimes i pretend i'm someone else, well, vice city is just great man, it still has alot of gameplay value.
