San Andreas in onboard video cards

this is bad... rockstar should release a patch to fix this...

That is highly unlikely considering the fact that only a few users have had trouble running SA on Vista. I, for one, never had any trouble with SA on Vista Ultimate.

I feel your problem has got something to do with either your graphic card or DirectX. Perhaps, if you decide to change your mind, try rolling back DirectX to 9.0c just to see if it works. In any case, you can always install DX10 anytime you want.

I don't think they will, San Andreas wasn't even made for Vista, so they wouldn't support it, and I don't think they will ever make a patch. San Andreas worked fine for me on Vista, except only sometimes the mouse would lock up in-game (never happened in XP), But that was my only problem. I liked XP Better then Vista, so that's why I went back to XP. Also, because it lags on my PC With 2GB DDR2 @ 667mhz, a Quad Core @ 2.4Ghz, 10,000RPM HDD wow.gif.

But for your problem, have you tried updating your sound card drivers? I had this problem with mine, I have Realtek too, I updated mine, and it worked after that. You need to delete gta_sa.set (Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files)

I would test a solution, but I am not putting Vista on my PC, Because it's full of bugs, and I have to pay a sh*t load of money just for it to run smoothly.

I read that DX10 Is backwards compatiable, so any DX9 Games, will work in DX10 (Vista).

Vista itself is backwards compatible. So, any games that work on XP should work on Vista. But do they?

With Microsoft products, you can't be really sure. sigh.gif

Yes they work, I have tested mine, and they worked fine. Although System Requirements Lab, when I tested to see if my PC Met the requirements for some game (forgot what it was), but it was made for 2000 and XP Only. It said, Vista is not supported, and it still ran fine.

What I meant to say was that the games/applications that work for you need not necessarily work for others. It's just a Windows thing ya know. wink.gif

hmm, ok ill try rolling back to 9.0c wow.gif

I don't think you can in Vista, from what I've read. I read that if you want 9.0c, you will have to be using XP. And it's not possible in Vista, from what I read.

The only other option I can think of is to re-install the Operating System, I remember I had to once, when my SA Wouldn't work. Then it fixed it.

If 98 compatibility didn't work, I would suggest using 2000, or XP Compatibility mode. Because I think 98 compatibility may not work, because SA Was not made for 98. It was made only for 2000 and XP.

And try deleting gta_sa.set (Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files), if it is there.

thanks again but...

ive never been able to even get to the menu, so theres no files in the gta folder in my documents

and ive tryed to run it in every mode, but nothing... dontgetit.gif

thx

Hmm, I am nearly out of ideas now. Are your drivers for your video card, Vista compatible?

Ok, I'm not very sure, but try to install DirectX from your SA disc. I'm assuming it'll over-write the current DX files.

Its got 128mb

That would be fine.

After you exit the game/or if it exit's itself, try going into Task Manager, click processes tab, then if gta_sa.exe is there, close it's process (Sometimes it's there even when the game is closed (Mainly if it crashed). After closing it's process, try running the game.

nope. nothing sad.gif

You may not want to do this, but:

Dual boot Vista and XP. It wouldn't work on my brothers PC With vista, even with updated drivers, tried for weeks and we couldn't. Everything suggested on the site in other threads, and wouldn't work. So we dual booted them both, and it worked in XP, But not Vista.

er...i has a prob...i tried everything n still de error comes out...is a send n dont send error...hw can i solve tiz prob?

As told in your topic, the copy that you have will not work at any cost. There's no other way than buying the original legit copy of the game. As simple as that.

Now please stop asking for help on your warez copy. Any such warez discussion is prohibited on GTAF.

gtamodder:

Yeah by the internet.

tryed booting XP on other hardisc with all drivers and everything, but still...nothing!!

im thinking it has Something to do with my graphics card...

Maybe your graphics card, I have heard a lot of people have problem with this card. You can upgrade to a 7600 GT (good budget card)
