LoMioPrimero
hi madbullbunny, Some plants which are shown ingame are 'normal' solid 3d-models with single dff and txd files- they can be treatened by MEd like any other static map object. you place (and remove, i think) them by creating/ adjusting/ removing their specific 'item placement'-file (*.IPL) in data/maps/ folder. but that's what you already know, i think. Other plants only appear ingame because of the material defined in the collision files of objects (*.col). they can be seen as three-dimensional surface style of an object. an example is short 3d-grass shown in green areas, or the sa-typical red-flowered areas which are very common, too. but it can also be bushes, small rocks, cactuses and other things. These objects can be solid. To change those plants, you therefor got to change the material defined in the specific collision file. example: in an grass area or corn field look for the collision file of the ground. export it and change the material of faces in Colleditor2 from steve-m. in main window of this nice program, different materials of faces are shown in different colors. to explore more of this materials thing, i recommend Colmap from mickarrow. its basicly a large rectangled land area with smaller fields of every material that exists. it comes with dff/txd/col so you just got to insert it ingame. also look at it in colleditor2, it helped me alot understanding materials. by using them, you can easyly create fat map effects in gta-look on your own objects! hope this helps, LMP by the way, thanks to: the mentioned people who did great things and everybody else here who helps us player haters! markiij
if they are just txd files, the easyest wat toi remove them is to replace te txd file with a invissible texture (black alpha). lol.

No! The grass is still being rendered, which if he wants his game to run faster, isn't the solution. madbullbunny: Your best bet is to go with LoMioPrimero's suggestion, or turen your GFX quality to Low in the menu, it stops the grass rendering
