Simply because it's an audio problem, I suggest fiddling with the Hardware Acceleration level. Start -> Run -> dxdiag, and hit the Sound tab. Then move the Hardware Acceleration Level to an alternative position on the slider, apply and test. Also, if you've downloaded the game, buy it, obviously.
