For those who have problems installing sounds and end up with no sounds ingame, or those who have problems installing car models, here's the manual install. Just extract to the gtavc directory. Beware, it's a big file, 416mb, as it has the original gta stuff in it.

Since you didn't bash this time and asked a bit more nicely........

 

Old handling:

Do that for the Baggage, Banshee, and Infernus as well. If you want it that bad. If you're willing to give the current handling another go, don't press the gas during turns and hit the emergency brake if you're going haywire. It'll give you pre 0.2c handling, but no more drifting like that first experiment when the delorean reentered.

 

And in case you missed it in my big post, turn on frame limiter to solve some random crashes. and here for your garage crashes

just save to the data folder of your gta install, and it should overwrite something.

 

No one's given me feedback if it's worked, so I won't guarantee that it would solve it.

 

And cars do spin out if you keep pressing the gas down all the way, which in the case of gta is all the time.

thanks. i'm gonna go try it out. the handling weighs the most out of all the other problems--which for me, most of them have never happened again. the other half however... well, I just got my first glimpse on one of the hoverboards, so I pressed F and... it froze. oh yeah, and you keep saying that I keep the gas pressed all the time, and I really don't. usually when I turn I just drift it so I'll still pick up the speed I had before faster instead of just the slow brake, let go of gas, turn, that you do in real life.

 

also to the other guy, I have no idea how to edit the handling.cfg

Still got a long way to go. Already, 0.2d is getting packed. Random weather, lightning strikes (flying delorean), sequence like the end of bttf1, time traveller's pov (instant time travel in other words, no cinematics...well, kinda. All the building models have to load up after all once hill valley comes out, so momentary blank map), multiple time machines, and some actual hoverboard/skateboard sounds and animations (animations are worked on, sounds, i completely forgot)

open it up with notepad, search for deluxo, and replace that line with the one posted up there (make sure word wrap is off to make things a bit easier) Do the same for the Infernus, Banshee, and Baggage, but instead of deluxo in the beginning, it would be INFERNUS, BANSHEE, and BAGGAGE respectively. If you have problems, I'll post an edited handling.cfg online. But it's better to learn how to do it rather than have others do it, so you can tweak it the way you want. http://projectcerbera.com/ has good tutorials if you feel a bit adventurous, and a handy handling editor

 

Hmm, i have no idea why hoverboards are crashing. Some others are having the same problem, and I have no idea why it's like that. Might be some handling error. I will look into it.

 

Ok, i see. Well, dunno if this helps or not, but when I drive the delo, I make the turn using the brake, and nearing about midway through the turn, I turn the wheel the other way and hit the gas to straighten out. If it keeps on turning, i brake. Oh well, might be easier just to use the old handling for you.

First number is the top speed limit (as in, it cannot go higher than that). Second number is acceleration. Strangely, in gta, acceleration controls both acceleration and top speed. Increasing the weight (1700.0, first number) is also known to increase top speed for some reason.

increase the values to increase traction. Generally, you'd want to keep the first number 0.1 higher then the second. Don't make the numbers too high, otherwise turning will flip your car over in a very unrealistic way. More here on what the rest mean here:

Though I understand the 7000mph part, i don't think a 0.00000000000001 second to turn would make it easy to control, especially when you want slight adjustments.

It's not as fast as it should be though, but that might be due to high traction that might cause some stickyness. I don't know.

The biggest problem with the Lybian chase right now is that there is so much stuff for it to hit. If that missions is going to be made like it is in the movie (in the final version of the game that is), then it will just be a (mostly) empty parking lot for the Lybian's to chase the DeLorean. That should cut down on that van crashing into everything in site and hitting every building imaginable.

If I may make a suggestion, change the Ruger to an Ak-47, The Lybian chase is fun though, but it feels strange when they are using a Ruger and not an AK.

 

Also, maybe give the RPG a new skin so it looks like the one in the movie. I’d also like to see Doc’s rifle from BTTF III as well as a 1800’s era Revolver.

One of my MSN contacts convinced me to try it, so I freed up some HD space and installed the mod in a fresh install. After working out a few sound errors, I got it working perfectly. I must say this mod is pretty kick-ass, even in beta stage. The vehicles look great, and I haven't had any problems with the handling except for the train which is a bit wobbly. The presentation is great, well done with the load/menu screens and all the effects, including glowing coils, better fire trails than that VC XXL mod, and some nice general particle effects. All I need now is to put Huey Lewis' Back In Time into the mp3 folder and this mod is f*cking fantastic. tounge.gif So you guys plan on modeling all of Hill Valley and inserting it into VC? Including the city square with the Clock Tower and Courthouse and diner and all of that? Marty's neighborhood and the school? Do you plan on having 2015, 1955, and 1855 variations of Hill Valley? Either way, keep up the good work. This thing is going to be amazing if you can pull of all of this off. I might take some screens later as well.

Yep, we have a mapper doing that, but right now rl is kicking him in the face, so it's on hold right now. Damn, need more mappers. All variations, which are 1885, 1955, 1985, 1985A, and 2015 variations and will include everything seen in the movies, with made up stuff never seen. We found some maps of how everything was roughly laid out, so we're kinda basing it off of those. Kinda hard when the bobs never had a map of what Hill Valley really looked like.

Ouch, one mapper. I know how that is. tounge.gif Are you guys planning on removing the VC landmass and replacing it with the Hill Valley's? You could probably fit in all the Hill Valley's without doing that, if you've looked at the SOL mod a lot can be added to VC. They added LC, a bunch of big islands, statue of liberty, freeway, bridge, etc. I'm sure you could fit a few varations of hill valley in there. Hopefully you guys can pull this off because it'll be one of the biggest mods out there.

the plan is to have the landmass there, and then each changable thing be grouped into like an object, therefore only one hill valley is needed and the objects switch out. I believe that is how x-seti is handling the changes of sol through time.

So you guys are scratch modeling HV, right? Any like screens of those models you could share? Also, have you considered recruiting other mappers, like maybe some working on SOL and such? I've talked with X-Seti a lot and I think he or some of this team members could be a great help for this mod. I mean I'm not saying forget the other guy, but the more modelers/mappers, the better. Just my suggestion..

modeled after a small town in Arizona, right now, it has the street layout, highway, railroad, and train station for the downtown area and around it. Not finished.

This mod just keeps on getting better and better!!!

 

I was thinking of getting 3D World Studio, or something like it, is it easy to use?

 

 

We found some maps of how everything was roughly laid out

 

Could you post one of the maps here?
