condawg
Hi there. I just got done installing GTA:SA, and when I try to start it up, it goes by the "rockstar games" thing, it gets to the screen that has all the images and says "GTA San Andreas" or whatever, then a window comes up informing me that the game encountered a problem and needed to close. This is a LEGAL version of the game. Store-bought, not downloaded. Please help!

Here is an easy way to get everything that is relevant. click Start, Run, type dxdiag into the box then press ENTER, once it is loaded click Save All Information... and open the DxDiag.txt file, then copy and paste everything under the System Information and Display Devices headings into a post here. gillies
That graphics thing is right on the border of what probably works, and could be the source of this problem. Did you have a different driver version for it before you had this virus problem? It might be worth checking for an update, or if you had an older version before try that again.
