I'm starting to hate people who are sincerely convinced that you will play as Claude, Tommy, or CJ in GTA V.

I just ignore them. There's been a huge influx of n00bs and retards since the trailer, it will die down after a while and some serious discussions can actually take place. Some people are just incapable of thinking anything else, despite the evidence you give them.

I hope so. I wish this site had a probationary period were if you started a pointless/copied topic you would be banned. The amount of repeat topics on the GTA V section is infuriating.

I hate it how when you make a post in the V section, there's already 3 posts under yours posted at the same time, and a minute later it's a new page and your post is lost and nobody even reads it! Or when you make a topic, gets about 10 posts, then the next day somebody else makes the same one, and gets 4 pages

Yeah that's true, you have to really repeat yourself alot to even get your post noticed, them fan boys are crazy. The posting new topics thing is so annoying aswell.

 

On par with that, i commented the V trailer on Youtube saying the theme music fits really well, and as Jim Carrey would say "Like a glove" From his line in Ace Ventura.

how the hell did GTA 3 steal any concept from Driver? Driver was always behind GTA, in fact GTA 3 was the first 3d sandbox game

Driver came out in 1999 and Driver 2 in 2000, back when GTA was still in 2D top down view. I'm not sure if they're exactly classed as sandbox games but in Driver 2 you could get out of your car and walk around.

In which case, Driver stole the complete concept from Carmageddon.

 

Carmageddon was the one who opened up the open world (also in 3D), beyond anything ever seen before. Complete freedom.

I've never actually played Carmageddon but I'm sure Driver was at least somewhat influenced by it. As for the complaints about the GTA V section, this level of activity is expected. At least you're not waiting a week between new posts.

I played Carmageddon as well when I was 8 years old, it was rated M. I don't see how it's more acceptable though

Video games didn't exist when I was 8 . We had to play outside in the fresh air and sunshine.

I don't know what game youre thinking of but EVERY driver has been in 3D. Not top down, not 2d, but fully 3d

This reminds me, back when RDR came out I wanted to look up videos of Dead Eye just to see what it was like.

 

The video posted was of the ending and that particular dead eye sequence. Muhhf*cka.

 

I immediately filed it away and tried to forget it, and pretty much did, but it still took a little sting out of the ending for me. I still teared up though, so there's that.

The first sentence just doesn't sound right (IMO). It weakens the sentence (in my opinion). Imagine reading a paper or newspaper article that had 12 "IMO"s. Of course it's your opinion! Who else's would it be?

 

The only way I could see it working is if there was a general confusion of who's opinion it was. For example, if people had to use things like: "IMUO (in my uncle's opinion), this song sounds great." or "In my doctor's opinion, this song sounds great." Otherwise, leave it.

they use it because some people get annoyed when people state they're own opinion as facht. "I think" is okay, and so is "In my opinion".

Like any other abbreviation, "IMO" is fine as long as it's not used repeatedly.
