Tempur-Pedic for the win on that one. I have a king-size one and it's like sleeping on a damn cloud.

I decided to turn on my PS3 again to play GTA: Vice City Stories and download some other games, only to be faced by the horrible download list on PS3, it's a complete nightmare trying to find something there.

Chrome needs to lay off and stop giving me ads I give less of a damn about. It's kinda annoying while browings sites, other forums and here at GTAF when the ad blocks almost the whole view and has nothing to do on my recent searches. But even worse, Samsung internet has hit a low point giving me useless f*cking ads that pop out nowhere shoving thai recipes up my ass along with trips to asia like I give a flying sh*t. And the best of all it's seems like you can't disable any of this in the settings. It's crap like this why don't like to update things but yet the f*cker updates by itself....

Try Chromium. It's Chrome but with all the bloatware taken out.

I switched from Opera to Vivaldi some months back. I was a dogged defender of Opera but a few things ticked me off, things I can't even remember but I don't miss it.

If a moan is mandatory, I've had a rotten cold for about four days now. Nothing all that interesting or enlightening, it's just making me miserable. I hate how things feel twice as difficult when you're unwell. I tried putting my socks on this morning and nearly broke a rib.

tfw someone harps on at you for constantly bailing on plans which you never bailed on as they didn't respond on said day, you finally make plans for a specific day and reassure them a million times you wont bail, the day comes around and you wake up early, get ready and they tell you they'll be ready soon and it slowly gets later and later and they eventually ghost you from 4pm to 10pm and give you the excuse that they got "carried away binge watching Netflix". Cue to a few days later, they know you've been out all day and they randomly hit you up when you're on the train home to go out for a drink and they get pissy as f*ck because you decline? I ain't particularly bothered about them bailing, it's just f*cking annoying when they make a big deal out of you "bailing" and then they make you waste a day waiting for them, and then get pissy when they expect you to drop everything and go out with them without any prior warning or planning.

Is it just my dysfunctional head or was this topic once called "Grumpy old forum members"?

But actually I would like to know who is considered "old forum member". Long term registration or simply an old guy?

With an age over the mid-thirties and nine years resgistration I am probably at least "o l d" in the first place, huh?

Well, looking at my birthdate makes me kind of grumpy sometimes. A little. Very little. Almost like zero grumpy but not directly zero you know. 😂

Thought I had some good friends but after tonight I'm not so sure. Feels like myself and two friends of mine have been ghosted and not thought of

some other friends of mine got invited to a dinner night out including 1 best friend of mine, two of my other best-friends and myself didn't even get an invite even through we get along with the guy whose social outing it is. Those of us that didn't get invited had an small argument on discord with said friend whose behind the outing, he didn't have much to say, other friends there said we could join. It's literally 10PM at this point. way too late for us to show and one of my best friends who didn't get invited said "X best friend that went told us last minuet he was going to this but we thought it'll be rude of us to show up uninvited"

Thanks for thinking about us

Why does every news station insist on 20 minutes of weather? Do we really need a 5 minute report at the start of the news cast followed by a drawn out 10-minutes forecast basically repeating what was said in the first 5 minute report minus 7 day forecast and then another 5 minute recap near the end so some stations spend more time on weather reports than actual news

if it was me my report would be.... Its gonna be 85 and rainy tmrw take an umbrella back to you Tom short but sweet

If you bought it on eBay or used PayPal to pay for it fine a claim it’ll force him to give you a new one or loose money as he committed fraud by sending you a known defective product.

eBay & PayPal are good about buyer protection and making the seller make it right or refund your money I’ve had issue before where I was buying a “New Never Opened” product only to receive it and could clearly tell it was repacked and the product inside clearly used

Seller refused to acknowledge this so I sent eBay a dispute with video showing the bad repacking job and of me opening the box and pulling out the item that was dirty ect

eBay refunded me, I like PayPal version because they take the money  away from the seller while eBay just pays it themselves (at least I think they do

It was a website like eBay, and they use the same system payment rules.

I got a refund, and he said to me to keep the products to not do future deals after many mistakes he did as delayed shipment, lack of another product, defective product, not knowing how to solve the problem and trying to waste more time in many ways, etc.

Glad you got your money back, nothing worse than people knowly sending defective products in hopes the buyer won’t balk about it

I think what's really annoying me today is people's reasoning as to why Garfield hates Monday. On the surface, Garfield is a cat and is therefore free of the shackles that bind many of the working class who are dragged kicking and screaming into the working week after a brief weekend respite. However, people are keen to point out that Garfield hates Mondays because he loves Jon but is too proud to admit it. This would work, but if you're at all interested in the lore of Garfield you'll know that Jon is a cartoonist and works from home. You'll see this in the very first strip of Garfield, where Jon's work station makes an appearance and has been visible many times subsequently. Garfield does not dislike Monday because Jon has to go to work. Garfield hates Monday because;

1. Terrible things tend to happen to him on that particularly day. Go to the Garfield comic archives and look for a few Monday strips. Things are always going wrong for him. Trivial, yes, but a pattern emerges and you can't fault a cat for putting two and two together.

2. Garfield hates Monday because it is relatable. As said, a good number of the comic's audience works a standard week of Monday to Friday, and if they don't, they likely will have or will do at some point. Everybody has come to dread the day at least once is their life. Garfield is a cat, so this tenuous link is the only thing he has to relate to an ever watching audience.

It annoys me because it's a clear display of people feeling the need to chime in when they don't know what they're talking about. Besides all of this, it's a cartoon about a lazy orange cat.

Today I found myself scowling at my Alexa device. I woke up early with my wife and decided to tackle some odd jobs as she left for work. I was fortunate because it's bin collection day and I had forgotten to put it on the side of the street. I took this golden opportunity to throw some last minute trash out whilst most of my street was still sleeping. As I sipped my tea on the sofa, I noticed that many of the news bulletins provided by Alexa were borderline clickbait. Articles always ended with an ellipsis, no doubt in an attempt to tempt people to wake the device and insist that it tell them more about the story in question. More often than not, these articles were not surprising in the least and felt like a bit of a let down. It's like searching for the lost gold of El Dorado only to find a landfill packed with empty foil chocolate wrappers. I must admit I was a little cynical upon the purchase of this thing. It was on sale, I was told, and whilst it hasn't exactly changed my life in leaps and bounds it is pleasant to see temperature, weather and the occasional relevant piece of information. You can get it to spit facts out every now and again, it can play music on demand and yadda yadda yadda. It's neat. I'm not one of those people who deny such advancement because of all this government tracking stuff. If Amazon want to watch a man pushing 30 eat on his sofa naked, they're more than welcome to do so. I hope the agent tasked to track me cries at home to his wife because he spent the best part of eight hours watching a man trying and struggling to learn the theme song for Happy Days on a banjo.

Anyway, that's besides the point. I found myself in a unique position this morning and there's probably a word in German for it. I noticed that the bin men hadn't yet arrived, and I initially assumed I was too late because I usually take the bin to the street the night before. Because they were late, it gave me chance to take some bonus garbage out. However, even when presented with this, I felt vaguely irritated by their late arrival. I was actually cursing them because they usually come at half 6. It was now 8 at this point. Why are they late? They're never late. It was a bizarre moment of self sabotage. Them being late actually allowed me to get my rubbish collected on time... but I was somehow annoyed at the fact they hadn't been. I have tremendous respect for refuse collectors, because it's all to often a job that gets looked down upon by almost everybody. Even the homeless and jobless dislike them, mostly because they're responsible for throwing away the assembly of waste they call accommodation. It's a thankless job and most of it is done whilst people are at their own job. They come home from work and take their bins back to the sides or rears of the houses without so much as a second thought. It's an automatic process and anybody who's had to cart a smelly bin bag through the house knows that the aroma is quite something. I have so much respect for such a profession.

I'm going for another sit down.

I think this is a common theme with 80s/90s comics, especially those that began on newspapers like Calvin & Hobbes. There's a lot of specific jokes and situations that don't mean as much as they seem, other than "you're probably in your 20s or 30s, working and reading this, you likely relate to this and need a laugh". I've noticed it's pretty common for comics from the time to constantly be making jokes about how difficult it is to work/work and have a family/etc (even if from the perspective of someone else, there's always an adult figure with these issues). This seems far less frequent nowadays.

Though I'm sure fan speculation has always existed and undoubtedly inspired the writers to do something with that tho...

When I was really into The Simpsons and used to browse the Simpsons Wiki, there were a TON of people introducing either fan-theories or stuff from Non-Canon episodes (Treehouses of Horror) into pages that had nothing to do with that. A fan-favorite to debate was The Principal and The Pauper, where Skinner is shown to be a fake. Matt Groening himself said that episode was a mistake, and thus is generally considered non-canon, but people love to mention that episode every half a page.

Like the hell? it's a sunday night cartoon, you're not really meant to overthink it (specially in recent seasons, but that's another story).
