How is your city counsul or ward rep when it comes to helping out their citizens?

I know my council person. I don't work in/for city council but I do work for the city government so I've been sharing an elevator with her forever.

 

About all I can do is petition for permit parking. I wouldn't mind permit parking. That way strangers won't take up parking spots. We are one of the few blocks in this neighborhood that doesn't have it.

Having friends in high places, I live a few hours down from the Mayor and each summer I have issue with people parking on both sides of a road that really only big enough for one car to drive down at once and even on my lawn and even in my driveway to go visit the bar around the corner and the Police tried to tell me that they couldn't ticket them or tow them.

 

I went to the next city council meeting and told them what the Officer said the very next day they were putting up no parking fire lane signs on both sides of the road and each end of the road so this past summer people who parked here the year before assumed they could do it again were freaking out when the bar manager told them a fleet of tow trucks was towing away all the cars on mine and adjenct road the looks on their faces was priceless.

 

Fire Lane tickets here are around $300 plus towing and impound fees so a night of drinking went from maybe $100 to around $800.

 

and I've been to Philly to visit family who street doesn't have permit parking on it and they say it's like playing musical chairs driving round and round til you finally find a spot.

 

Hopefully you can convince her to bring it up in chambers to add citywide permit parking for residential streets or maybe get all the folks on your block to sign something saying they would be cool with permit parking that could be a way.

Brazil's politics are just a nuclear fallout, and we're still 6 months away from the election. Our current president managed to get a 3% approval rate (on a 3% margin of error), the favorite candidate is about to be arrested, the second favorite was impeached and we have billionare TV hosts and clothing store CEOs planning on running for presidency. Now there's going to be protests everywhere, to go along with the robberies, shootouts, gang violence, strikes and corruption everywhere.

Update: Turns out it may not have resurfaced at all, but rather an old trend that MSM has picked up again. Though saying that, it wouldn't surprise me if these news stories revive the trend again...

Says it was delivered today(handed to a resident), but it wasn't. Been waiting on hold with USPS for 40+ minutes. When I called it said my wait time would between 50 and 50 minutes. Yup...

 

Grrrrrr!

 

Never mind. Package showed up on my back deck(like 6:30pm). That was a lot different than the tracking which said it was handed to a resident at 3:33pm.

There is one thing that I hate more than repeating myself, and that's being asked if I'm sure of something. I'm a perfectionist, it's my job to make sure that I am sure about something. I pick my brain apart on a daily basis, I don't need a f*cking parakeet repeating everything, asking me over and over again like I'm a little baby. Then I have to listen to bullsh*t like "Oh you should have done this, got this, be like this."

 

But then I'd be you.

 

And I don't care about you, or anyone else for that matter. My instructor got on a subject about everyone in Alabama making everything about themselves and she asked me if it was all about me? I told her no, but I don't care about other people, and it certainly isn't about them. If the world doesn't revolve around one person, who's so mighty and godly that it revolves around?

 

I find an absurd amount of retardation in that saying. I'm selfish, I'm selfish as sh*t, you'd never catch me giving anybody anything without them compensating for it, that's just how it is. I don't believe in giving and you shall receive, none of that bullsh*t. I claim to be imaginative but I'm a realist at the end of the day. No, actually I meant anyone that had it on when you entered the room and it was something they enjoyed. Infringing on other peoples fandom has always been taboo in this area, so you tend to just tolerate it and cringe inside when the program is impolite and vulgar.

 

The wife? I'm uncertain how you mean, the story of my divorce is very old news. I've been a single parent for over seven years and even when I was married I wouldn't stick around in my own home and watch such drivel.

 

Don't get this incorrect, I appreciate anyone whom sticks up for themselves and disallows others to walk all over them. I dislike it when others attempt to state what the proper place is for someone else. It is, most often, inherently inappropriate and disrespectful and therefore undeserving of respect.

 

A certain amount of snarkiness is respectable because it shows one is not to be toiled with and is strong spirited regarding their worth and well being,hopefully the well being of others is with this as well.
