Honest thought, it has been a peeve of mine for oh so many years. I'm far from religious, but I do try and respect people's religion, and I always felt it a bit disrespectful to the Rastafarian religion.

But on a serious note I don't know if I have any extended rants this go round but I do have a few choice pet peeves as of late. I'm a bit sideways so only one's floating to the surface at the moment.

So you brought my food. Now I have to pay that guy you work for triple the cost of what I ate for not cooking it myself and eating at home. Oh and you want your cut as well for not spitting in my Chicken Nachos and making me get up to grab my own menus off the table across from us while we were waiting for you to notice us. Now I'm no Mr. Pink about this, I'm italian on my mother's side and she herself was a server for about 6 years, so I heard some horror stories for sure. I'm not a particularly demanding customer and I believe in tipping and tipping well where it's merited.

 

But if my bill is 21.50 and and I hand you two twenties you better sure as f*ck better not ask me, "Do you want you're change back?"

 

Because the next question out of my mouth would be, "Did you secretly felate me under the table here in Chili's when I wasn't looking?"

 

At a standard of fifteen percent you are due a whopping 3.25 and I was going to tip you 6.00 now I'm going to tip you 2.00.

 

You also vanished like a f*cking ninja for a full half hour to go do some lines in the bathroom with your dishwasher and life partner, "Juan " directly after handing me the check, so now I'm tipping you our very first commander in chief who I did not vote for.

Just messin'. Honestly, coming to a entirely text based gaming forum you are often surprised at first to see how many people do not actually come here to read.

 

Although being that my 2nd one is again food related I may have to heed your last sentence.

Sadly I'm on the go a lot and borderline poor so I end up eating the cheap sludge from a lot of these fast food joints. Now this is something fairly recent, I'd say in the last decade or so it's really taken off. You wait patiently in line behind the 12 cars in front of you. The welfare mom with the six screaming brats who each want a specific toy with their meal. The guy who reads the entire menu out loud back to the window cashier as he decides he only wants a diet coke and fries. The couple having a Jerry Springer type fight just as they pull up and end up ordering double what they normally would because being married for any extended period of time makes you fat and unhappy.

 

Now the time finally comes for you to get to the window and you ordered something slightly out of the ordinary, "Add grilled onions" or "lettuce and tomato" perhaps and instead of bringing your food to you, the attendant asks tells you. "I'm sorry sir, we're still putting something on your order together could you pull forward and we'll bring it out to you?"

 

How about, "no".

 

How about, you turn your entire lines attention into making my order your top priority like you were on DEFCON 5 until that sh*t is actually complete and in my hand? BATTLE STATIONS, bitches!

 

I waited patiently for my sh*t, if the guy two cars back only ordered a large Dr. Pepper and fries and has paid for it, take it to him so he can get on his way but don't ask me to pull forward and wait like a 2nd Class citizen while I watch the four cars behind me drive away with the thing they ordered. That sh*t is like paying a hooker to blow you but instead she tells you to sit in the corner of the room and watch while she sucks off four other guys....Ok, maybe that's not the best example but...

meta- you have summed up why I nearly always refuse to eat "fast food". I even avoid most coffee-and-food-type places, unless I absolutely have to. Firstly, the staff are impossible to reason with. Not just difficult, but impossible. It's like trying to explain quantum physics to a goat- they just stare at you blankly and then repeat the last thing they said. Secondly, the food is always either unbearably hot, or unbearably cold- usually a combination of both. Thirdly, they're not actually that cheap. There's a very good pub down the road from me that does a perfectly palatable home-battered fish and chips at under £5.00, and I can usually wangle a discounted pint into the deal. I'd much rather pay £6 for a properly home-cooked meal, a drink and a chat with an attractive barmaid than pay almost the same for poorly cooked sh*te served up to me by the kind of imbecile that I would ban my children from dating on health and safety grounds.

the only upside of fast food is that fact that it takes 5 minutes to fry/boil/some other uncouth manner of cooking it and to have it 'served up' in a nice paper bag or blue tray. if I had the choice of pub lunch (Wetherspoons beer and burger for around a fiver, can't go wrong) or a Big Mac meal for about the same price, I'd take the beer and burger, and if needs must, I'd willingfully substitue the beer for a Pepsi.

oh and in the Mcdonald's near my work, there are quite a few nice cashiers, easier to hunt my prey there than it is to stalk hair salons in the hope to find a cute college girl.

I can't think of many things more off-putting than being in the middle of "the act" and getting a faint whiff of Big Mac and Fries. Seriously, a girl that smelled like a deep-fat fryer would be a huge turn-off.

99% of the time its the customer that is unreasonable/brain derp.
