I keep getting Mormon adverts on Youtube, I don't like any of that sh*te (from any religion) to be blown in my face but I watched one because it was about and woman and her infertility (I didn't know it was a Mormon ad, I didn't look at the little title).

 

Anyway, it's all normal and kinda sad and then BAM 'my Saviour gets me through this, everything bad that happens is meant to happen - he's with me always' blah blah blah. 0 to crazy real quick.

 

Then I realised when I looked for the title.

yeah i have high doubts IV would "corrupt boot screens", i'd wager it on the card getting too stressed and giving up the ghost although if IV kills your card you're probably due an upgrade

 

I was enraged earlier because that Tom Petty guy was taking up 10 positions on the Itunes chart (mostly bc Camila won't be able to get top 5 now), but looking at this forum I realized why and feel like an asshole...

GTA IV fried my old computer. I was playing when it all at once froze, and the music turned into this distorted synth from hell. I couldn't exit to Windows or task manager, and when I restarted I found it corrupted the bootup screens and wouldn't start up. Thanks, Cockstar.

I'm guessing it is my graphics card - it was almost ten years old. When I start the computer up, it would show a screen of random mismatched characters, and there were blue lines going across the BIOS screen. Then it would go into an infinite loading screen and freeze up. Thankfully I found a spare one at Walmart.

One of my dumbest decisions in life was starting smoking again after sucessfully quitting for 2 weeks. Haven't had a smoke free day since.

I quit for 11 months a few years ago. Decided to have one after a stressful event and was back to my pack-a-day habit pretty much instantly. What's making this easier now is that I at least know I can quit, but I think staying away from it is something I'm gonna struggle with for a little while. I've only had 3 today so far, so I'm off to a good start I think. The patch helps a lot.

My Aunt told my Mom the story of one of her dogs.

 

I'ma try and keep it short but basically she bought one dog from a man, he'd split up with his girlfriend and had to move into a flat and couldn't keep his dog, his ex took the other dog they owned out of spite because he loved that dog so much.

 

Turned out she was abusing the dog (whose name is Maggie) she' be locked in a small cage 24/7 and screamed at constantly and hit. So my Aunt pretended she didn't know the man and got in touch with the woman to buy Maggie and she did.

Apparently she took a long time to stop being nervous and afraid of everything.

 

God knows what the vile c*nt did to her, she's a big dog too. It's disgusting, you've gotta have a screw lose to do something like that out of spite.

Apparently, this beta-male f*cktard bought a dog and kept the poor thing locked up. The sh*tface tied the poor guy with a chain barely long enough to allow him to stand (chances are, he can't even sleep/lay down), and apparently he doesn't feed the dog, occasionally the dog would start screaming in pain. I know how dogs bark, this isn't your typical one. The poor dog is literally begging for help.

 

Speaking of this retard, how can you afford to have WHORES but not enough to buy dog food, which is literally ~60 steps away from your drug house? Ugh. And no one can do anything. Like Father, Like Son. This asshat's father was just as vile and disgusting as him. Had multiple run-ins with this family in the past. ESPECIALLY their youngest son.

One of my cats passed away yesterday - a car hit her. As much as I want the militia of cats to be gone, I just want them to leave, not die. I may not be fond of this one (MY GOD SHUT THE FK UP) but still. And the worst part is, she left her two kittens away.

I tried quiting with the patch once and that lasted nearly a week.

 

The gum is what did it for me...and here's why; The oral control of it all. With the patch you just put it on in the morning and try to ignore your cravings throughout the day.

 

Now with the gum, you pop a piece when you would normally pop in a cigarette. But it isn't like just for that moment. The gum last for hours. It isn't like you chew it the entire time. You crunch into it...it gives you a wonderful burn...and then you tuck it between your cheek and gums...and that wonderful burn continues. It's very much like dipping (chewing tobacco).

 

Honest to goodness I swear by the gum. Take it from someone who loves cigarettes.

 

My wife still smokes and I still make her cigarettes. Heck, she's smoking right now.

 

I haven't touched a cigarette since I quit about 5 years.

man i tried doing the gum thing but it didn't work for me. i did quit smoking for 5yrs though going the cold turkey route but my weed smoking increased a lot. Then i got arrested and put on probation, so i thought it wouldn't be too bad. Boy was I wrong, I never realized the act of smoking it self is probably the hardest thing to quit more than the nicotine. i ended up smoking cigarettes again after a couple days of being on probation.

Yeah, I think it is important to mention that it takes a combination of things to sucessfully quit. Will power being the biggest thing. Other distractions (I think) are important too. I stared working out via xbox and kinect as a distraction.

You could also try the gradual stop method, in the first week delay your first cig for half an hour, next week put it back another half hour, and so on. You may well end up at the point where it's mid afternoon or evening and can't be bothered starting.

I have never smoked, but some friends of mine here, especially during army service, used snus to quit smoking.
Although the snus is very easy to keep using which could be an issue.

lol there is this mob movie called "This Thing of Ours" but the whole premise of the movie is the mafia starts using hackers to scheme bank accounts and like your situation they are taking 15-20cents out of every account in the world. which ends up being millions for them. but the average person wouldn't notice the (in your case) .36 cents missing.

I get that they're doing it because nobody except me is fickle enough to make a big deal out of 36 cents, but it annoys me because this happened literally the day after my old card got deactivated for the same thing.

My friend once had his account compromised. Someone tried to buy $50 of molasses in Malaysia with it, but I believe he got his bank to cancel the transaction. People are strange.
