admittedly, with the Skull Candies I was being a sheep, but I've become one of the few out of my friends with common sense NOT to buy SK's because every other f*cker has them, and the Dre's were a bit of an odd deal, I mean £22?  I should have seen it coming, but such as the follies of youth.

I have to buy a new pair every three months due to one speaker cutting out, so far i've spent over 100 bucks on friggin earphones last year.

 

My own decision, but I just don't know any other brands with excellent sound quality.

If youve had to buy 4 pairs in one year that should set of some sort of alarm that they're sh*t quality. Skull candy have awful sound quality as well. Like minus the boom said, buy a decent pair of sennheisers and theyll last you a few years. Don't forget to tape up the plug though its yank proof.

Indeed. My current set of Sony MDRNC33s have done by about 2 1/2 years with no sign of deterioration. My XB40EXs before that are still working great for my mate and my EX90LPs only died after 18 months cause I got em caught in an escalator (followed by a sound only one can make after destroying £70 earphones so easily).

 

I tend to buy Sony cause I get a discount. If I didn't, Sennheiser would be a close pick too.

The sad thing about Skullcandy hate is that many people who have it, have it because of first-hand experience. I bought some headphones in highschool because, admittedly, they were pretty cool at the time. They had zero integrity with only a thin bit of plastic holding them together, and they broke almost straight away. Same thing happened with everyone else I know who has had them.

 

I was basically told to f*ck off when I complained to Skullcandy about their sh*ttiness. I took my Bose headphones into the Bose store when they broke (not because of build quality, but because of drunkenness) and they sent them off to be repaired right away, no questions or cost.

 

The sheer amount of anecdotal evidence for Skullcandy bastardry just makes anyone even considering buying them completely and utterly retarded.

The standard earbuds that came with my walkman broke in 2 months. Cheap pieces of sh*t. Now i have Sennheisers and have had no problems, even after they fell off head while i was riding my bike. Unlike the last pair of over the ear sony headphones that broke in half when i through them against the wall.

Ha, way to make 'em Sony.

 

The moral of this story is don't buy Sony headphones if you have anger issues.

No I did not. The new layout sucks, because they removed the "Most popular" (sports, entertaiment, etc) off the front page, so now I mainly just watch vids signed out, because I like to check those section and want a quick link to them, and don't comment anymore. The reason I wanted to log in in to see if anyone replied to any of my comments. The old system was fine, where you could just click the 'Later' link, but now, give me a break.

Just going back to the Skullcandy headphones thing, they really are terrible, but because they've got their foot in the trend door they sell like nobody's business. I've got a pair of Sennheiser headphones, Sennheiser earphones and some Sony on-ear ones. They've lasted me well over 12 months, with the Sennheiser headphones coming up to nearly 2 years. They're magnificent pieces of kit, and the reason why I have three is I like to have one for different uses.

 

Now, my girlfriend uses Skullcandy. Aside from the fact I rib her about her poor choice, she doesn't really listen. You may think I'm being unjust, but several pairs of hers have broken in the past few months. I think she's gone through two pairs this year alone. They're not even cheap either, you can pay as much for Skullcandy as you can for some models of Bose and Sennheiser. If not those, definitely Sony.

Your stomach is used to the "unclean" food because you eat it all the time so your stomach accepts it where as you don't eat the "clean" food as much so your stomach wont accept it as easily and isn't used to it forcing it to expel it quicker than the normal stuff causing diarrhea and other stomach issues.

Honestly, it's not as broody as it sounds I just think we have a population issue. There's a popular myth that the living outnumber the dead which has been recently disproved beyond our recorded history but there are just a ton of irresponsible people bringing several new people into the world carelessly without thought. I'm a parent of one as you know and so I won't devalue that but people need to consider what is excessive and take the proper measures and choices in their lifestyle medically and financially to accommodate their actions.

 

I work with a woman who is merely 4 years older than me. She is not, nor has she ever been married for any proper length of time but she has 5 daughters. Which means (at least) five times she laid on her back, opened her legs and made an irresponsible decision with her body from the age of 15 on. It also means that our taxes and financial aid have gone towards supporting that poor lack of judgment continuously and increasingly for the last two decades.

 

If she were to turn around tomorrow and announce to me and all of her coworkers that she was packin' another Hot Pocket in the microwave bitches would hop up and down, go all gooey and congratulate her for it.

 

There's nothing miraculous or special about the "sanctity of life" when you're a f*cking vending machine.

Oh and I totally hear you and agree. To top it off there are now at least 2 generations of grandmothers that are still having children themselves. What do label the kinship between the child that your daughter had and the child that you had?

 

If you really want to get pissed off on the topic, talk to my wife. She used to be a case manager for subsidized childcare. She has mind blowing stories.

It's crazy these days. Well, I say these days, but I don't really have a clue how it's been in the past I'm just going off media hype and personal experience. Three girls that I know personally from my school year have had kids and there's another one weeks away from dropping one. I just can't imagine having to be a parent at this age; it's simply otherworldly to me. Having a child at this age is essnetially throwing away the freedom of being a young adult (aka child that can buy beer and smokes). I don't think these kids are stupid, I just feel sorry for them. They're going to have to grow up f*cking sharpish while I'm at bars necking shots and creating embarrassing memories.

haha in all seriousness tho i see it all the time. you think it is bad here in america where i was it is 10x worse. you see 14 and 15 year old girls pregnant all the time but the problem is that down there they dont have welfare so the problem just compounds generation after generation.

 

here in america we have welfare and for one i think it should be gotten rid of. yes, it may be helpful to a few who REALLY need it, but if it really is good for 3% of people and the other 97% are abusing it, will it have that great of an impact?

There have been some positive changes to welfare. I'm not really sure how well they are working, or what loopholes people are exploiting. I like to think the changes have had a positive effect on the whole system and idea.

 

Because my wife has direct experience in the field of government supported child welfare, you may be happy to know that the numbers aren't that bad. Her area was a very urban, lower income(if any), African American area of west Philadelphia. Bottom line is all of her clients were poor, intercity, black chicks. She would catch the people who tried to abuse it, but every so often she would come home with a heartwarming story of a client that would let her know she didn't need assistance anymore.

There are now too many damn channels on TV. It wasn't so bad when we hit 900 channels. If I wanted to watch channel 2(or start the online guide at channel 2) I had to ender two zeros and then a 2 on my remote.

 

Not too long ago our cable provider broke the 1000 channel mark. Now if I want to start at channel 2 I have to enter three zeros and then a 2 on my remote.

 

Out of all those channels I might watch a total of 5 channels

True, I could do that, but then I won't be able to bitch about having too many channels and still nothing to watch. Honestly, they just brought that feature back(the hit 2 and wait) - in the last version of the software you had to use the leading zeros. I still bitch though, because if you don't use the leading zeros it takes longer than if you do.
