I tried cashier a few weeks ago and almost wanted to kill myself within 10 minutes of being there

I work in the backroom at Walmart but occasionally have the privilege of collecting shopping carts. For whatever reason we have two different sizes of carts, but the difference between them is subtle. Not only that, we have locks on our carts. Two different locks, that is, so only carts of the same size can lock with each other... except the customers don't know this. They have no way of knowing this until they ram the larger carts into the smaller ones in their desperate attempt to reattach the locks and get their stupid dollar back, and I'm the one who ends up having to take them apart (most of the time, unsuccessfully).

Have any of you wal mart associates considered the food industry? I was a waitress for about 6 years of my life. you only work about 4hour shifts because a restaurants usually opened for lunch and then re-opens for dinner so still a lot of time for social life and school etc. you make tips so you always have cash on hand and you get fed too. the bad side of it is when it gets busy you wanna kill yourself and when you're sick you can't just call in sick you gotta find a replacement yourself (at least that's how it was with my places).

And best job I had was roofing. Everyone hated me because I was quick. Of course we were being paid by the hour but I'm such an impatient person.. ^^

Neither did I but I did it. Never had a credit card, paid everything cash, entry level job. Now as a college graduate I have 4 credit cards, student loans, broke. Still have to complete internship hours and complete a board exam to have a full fledged title but I'll get to it eventually

Kudos to you for that! Tbh I've always fancied working at somewhere like Best Buy or EB Games (Gamestop) but no matter what, you're always going to deal with sh*tty customers so then I fall back and think at least I don't have to do that w/ my current job lol

OT: The football match I played yesterday had taken its toll on me today. Been almost forever since I've done something that requires physical skills and because of that my entire lower body is in serious hiccups. Ffffs
