I'm sick of seeing f*cking fetish posts on instagram of those filthy bastards that dress up and live as babies, wearing diapers and sh*tting themselves. Then you have the idiots who live as a cat.

I think it's funny when they try to defend their actions as 'it's not sexual'. Despite the fact a FETISH is a SEXUAL thing.

I don't give a sh*t if you like it rough, like being tied up or eating marmite of someone elses genitals but I won't accept people blatantly sexualising infants and animals.

What the f*ck.. It's the silly girl I found on instagram explore that has set me off. I can't understand what goes through the minds of these people.

BDSM shouldn't include baby/animal fetish's. End of.

Ugh.

Jesus Christ, you need to follow some different people on Instagram!

There is always something dodgy on my explore (and youtube recommended) and of course my dodgy curiosity forces me to have a nosey and see if things are as bad as they seem, and of course they are.

I've still not learnt and still click on anything that looks out of place :( then instantly regret it.

I f*cked up quoting Blaze.

Is that Luke guy.. I don't understand. What are they? Is he a feminine guy or a mildly boyish girl??

Kids nowadays.

y'all are way too concerned with how other people dress and sh*t. so what if he has a sh*tty bowl haircut and dresses like he fell into a hot topic clothing rack in 2009.

Yeah you're right. Still killing fish and giving yourself nosebleeds for attention is f*cking pathetic.

That's my issue, not his loud taste in clothing and bad haircuts.

All 'edgy' teens should be stopped -_-

I've just been on Facebook undergoing my weekly catch up of those little numbers that amass along the top of my screen, only to spot a Go Fund Me appeal for somebody to stay in the country so they can be with their new partner. They only have a work visa so they only have a few weeks left to stay there before they're dutifully carted away to the country they've run away from. They want $8000 from complete strangers so they can live out this bizarre refugee fantasy with someone they barely know. I'm glad hardly any of these are funded.

ten-a-penny

Ten-a-penny: I'm fairly busy right now but I should be able to give you a hand at the end of May or so. Feel free to PM me.

School can be tough, and I imagine your schooling system isn't as soft as it's become in the West.

Soft? Bah. This is THE place if you want an easy Baccalaureate.

Besides, my only gripes are Chemistry (well, kind of, I missed a single class, and it turned out that every single class after it depends on the one I missed), Physics (for the same reason) and Statistics (because f*ck the Statistics teacher, you're sh*t and you should feel sh*t).

And if I couldn't understand these things in Arabic, there's a high chance I won't understand them in English too.

Well your English is good, and it's not like it's literature. What kind of things are you doing in physics? Vectors, forces, Newton's Laws, work and energy? In chemistry I imagine you're doing covalent and ionic bonds and electronic configurations.

Stats is always dry, alas.

Well your English is good, and it's not like it's literature.

1) What kind of things are you doing in physics? Vectors, forces, Newton's Laws, work and energy?

2)In chemistry I imagine you're doing covalent and ionic bonds and electronic configurations.

Stats is always dry, alas.

Now here is where things go blank.

1) The way how we study Physics is rather confusing. Things like Newton's Laws, Speed etc is in one subject (Physical Mechanics), and other things that are pure electricity and anything similar (how electricity works in general, magnets...) and Radioactivity is in another subject (which is simply called Physics). Different "forms" of physics if you'd call it that.

2) As for Chemistry, currently its all about the -OH things. How's it bad? I didn't see the first "class" of the 6th 'part' of Chemistry (which talks about how and what are the -OH elements - ethanol, methanol....), and everything after that depends on the very class I missed (thanks hospital). At least I do understand today's class....

....which reminds me....

When Senior High Schoolers don't know what "HCL" means. Ha! Half the class stood up in fear, because they didn't knew that "HCL" is the Hydrochloric acid. The best part? We learned what acids are and what's the things that makes them "show up" compared to all the other elements last year. Let's not forget the best part: Today's class was all about Phenol. What it is, what it's symbol, how does it react with other things like other acids, etc. The entire Whiteboard is littered with Phenol symbols.... yet not a single student aside from maybe 3 or 4 knew what it is.

Libyans are smart, I'm telling you! :facedesk:

This is how it was roughly divided when I was in school

Basic organic chemistry then, specifically alcohols. This might be of use:

https://www.khanacademy.org/science/organic-chemistry

I'd also reccomend Chemguide, but it was pretty advanced even at A-Level:

Naming conventions in organic chemistry were a nuisance, but once you've got the rules sorted out it's OK. The annoying thing is that the old convention is still used sometimes--it's even worse with isomers.

Here's the page for that:

http://www.chemguide.co.uk/basicorg/conventions/names.html

I imagine you use the English names for the compounds as the conventions are international (also I imagine it would be horrible to do in Arabic).

Here's the phenol page by the way:

Organic chemistry demands a lot of attention, but once you grasp the fundamentals, it becomes surprisingly straight forward.

Also I don't recall phenol having a bare proton.. do you mean a lone pair on the O atom?

Link to comment

It was an idiom we used to use for the hydrogen on the OH bond. The oxygen is much more electronegative so the electrons which form the bond tend towards it, leaving the hydrogen isolated. We'd then (perhaps non-rigorously) refer to the hydrogen as a "bare proton". Edited it out anyway if it's questionable. Terminology like that probably is questionable after A2, which is when I finished with chemistry. I don't remember it perfectly as it was years ago.

Main component to reactivity is the donation of one of the 2p4 pairs into the ring:

The donation of the oxygen's lone pair into the ring system increases the electron density around the ring. That makes the ring much more reactive than it is in benzene itself. That is explored in another page in this phenol section.
It also helps to make the -OH group's hydrogen a lot more acidic than it is in alcohols

Ah, I get what you mean. I don't remember seeing it in the mark scheme, so yeah.

Sorry, just trying to brush up my knowledge, my A levels start in about 3 weeks. fml.

I'm sure you'll do fine. The lone pairs are more of a contributing factor and you were right to point that out. Chemguide was a good resource when I did A Levels, but chemistry wasn't my main focus.

"Bare proton" is just a dodgy term for hydrogen ion probably. If anyone's at fault it's me.

Not going to spam the thread further.

Found an old camera with a single selfie on it.

My eyes look like a f*cking bushbaby.

Not a happy reminder, that my eyes are too big for my bloody face. I've spent a lot of time figuring out the perfect angle at which my eyes aren't taking up the whole picture.

I'm looking at it right now and it's annoying me.

I imagine that's what my eyes look like in real life when I'm just walking around. Bloody saucer eyes. Like a sodding frog.

People don't really notice the little details about your appearance as much as you do. They will if you keep mentioning it to them though.

Additionally, I think big eyes is traditionally seen as something "good" when it comes to western beauty standards. Have a look at Disney princesses, will you? :p

Well if you've been told your whole life that your 'fat eyes' are an issue, it kinda sticks.

Little details are the things people pick up on and insult you for.

I thought my eyes were okay until I was told they weren't.

I could try to look at it that way, embrace the female cartoon aesthetic :panic:
