So I'm having problems running Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Spent at least 3 or more hours downloading this large piece of software, and all I get is crash on load. Ask tech support to help me, and all they can do is send me 2 pages of bullsh*t on how I should disable startup programs that could be a conflict with this sh*tty game.

 

Funny how no other games that I have on my laptop has any issues whatsoever.... only this game. Is this piece of software that sensitive? Should I coddle it and treat it as a f*cking baby?

 

I am unable to respond back to the tech support without giving them a few words of frustrations on their stupidity.

That's what you get for still entrusting Ubisoft with a good PC port after the abominations that are Watch Dogs and AC Unity. Seriously though, don't play Ubisoft games on PC unless your hardware is overkill.

I got the game for free after purchasing my gaming laptop.

This reminds me of the biggest f*ckup a "PC" player can ever do. This was a few months ago - possible back in September last year.

 

Saved enough money to buy a 'high-end' laptop. It was Friday. My father knows a place that is full of stores that sell this kind of thing. Headed there. I was more interested in the hardware more than the appearance, but my mother never though so. According to her, big laptops = beasty sh*t. Anyway. Found one that my mother liked. Like an idiot I somehow completely ignored the specs and focused on the appearance of the thing. It costed $800-something LYD. I also bought other random PC add-on's. The owner of the shop warned us (ala my father) that this laptop - it can't run games. It doesn't have a decent graphics card. I didn't hear him, else I would've changed stuff. It was Toshiba btw.

 

We returned home, installed Assassin's Creed III. Suddenly the game crashed out of nowhere. The next day me and my father returned back to the store, asking him why. He said that this laptop can't handle 'new-ish' videogames AKA stuff like GTA:SA, AC:III etc. He was kind enough to let us replace the Toshiba we bought with the strongest laptop he had - Hp, the one I'm currently using.

 

 

Moral of the story: NEVER jump straight across on a laptop BEFORE you ask the owner if this sh*t can run high-medium-end videogames.

Here's the thing, Originally I was going to have another laptop for what ever reason, but after deciding that you can't upgrade parts (Or if you can it's a lot harder then a desktop) and issues with battery life with previous ones I decided it was best to get a new PC

 

That PC at the time was my old Compacq? (HP) with a Core 2 Duo E8400 processor and 4 GB's of ddr2 ram. I would of also done research too on what the computers specs were but after being stuck on a small notebook with a intel atom processor and 2Gb's of ram. I said stuff it and bought the computer anyway . The old HP is not meant for gaming either as it doesn't have any graphics but the chipsets which are Intel Q43 / Q45 which made some games like minecraft or GTA IV impossible on the thing even through I met other specs in a way.

 

Now I got this new beast of a computer (Doesn't really have a manufacturer as all the parts appear to be custom installed and windows doesn't seem to tell me who the manufacturer is) I asked the guy this time if it could run games like Minecraft and GTA? He said it should run Minecraft and GTA with a few adjustments to the graphics settings. I do plan to upgrade to a 750 Ti graphics card when I get more money but if It can run IV now then i'm happy, even if it's on the lower res.

 

I get good steady frames on this PC in minecraft (Not sure how to bring up FPS in GTA IV) around 40 - 60 Fps and it sometimes goes higher if I make adjustments.

GTA IV runs fine like a dream if I have it 1280 x 720 and below (Otherwise I get framerate loss) I play on 800 x 800? as with my kind of monitor games look funny when there cut off and I usually get from what I tell about 30 FPS on IV at that resolution.

 

Oh and about the IV installation, have no idea what caused the game to detect itself not being installed when it was but another reinstall fixed it and now I can launch the game and play LCPDFR : )

Decided to start fiddling with GTA:SA's Resolution settings. Tried it at the highest settings (can't remember how much exactly). Game was good, however sometimes the game *somehow* lags CJ and CJ alone. Sure sometimes other NPC's and vehicles also lag but the "game" itself doesn't. When the 'lag' ends CJ would have a short speed boost somehow, can't explain it.

I mostly had no trouble with SA (I sucked at using the sneak ability through when doing robbery missions on the PC and sucked at flying helicopters due to inexperience with PC controls) and If I changed the default graphics options in SA I'd get a pretty good framerate. What sucked through is my old computer didn't support Anti-Aliasing so when you modded stuff like cars in for example, you could see lines on them (Should of taken a photo to show further detail)

 

I don't remember what I did but I may of turned something called "Frame Equalizer" off or on and it made my game stable, and changed render distance? and it did make my game run smoother but not perfect through.

I haven't tried SA on this desktop through, Because I'm having too much fun with IV at the moment doing stuff I usually can't do on the PS3 version. (Also saves me digging out the PS3 from the closet too)

2nd day of searching for a Skyrim mod that allows you to craft and place "Planters" wherever you want to no avail. Tried using console commands (playet.additem <Planter from Hearthfire ID here>, player.placeatme <planter ID here> etc) yet none of them work - turns out the Planters from Hearhfires aren't supposed to be "real" Inventory items.

 

E: And I hate how confusing the setrace CC is. I still remember changing my race from a Bosmer to a Dragon when I first played the PC version of the game (player.setrace dragonrace), but I had to reload a previous save to go back to a Bosmer. Apparently replacing "dragonrace" with "bosmerrace" is too complicated for the game.

 

Which reminds me of something else - what's the point of playing as a dragon via Console Commands if the thing isn't even THAT amazing? The controls are ugly, the camera gets messed up, and for some godawful reason there's STILL a cooldown for Shouts even as a dragon (yet Ancient dragons can mass-spam their stupid Fire/Frost Breath to no tomorrow against me ). Like, c'mon, guys.

 

And the setrace command isn't even that great. I'm trying to change some asshole's race to make it a lil' bit ironic yet the stupid game doesn't allow me to do such thing. Bah!
