I said a good "City Sim", not a City Decorator with no difficulty and budget management at all

 

The simulation of this game sucks, the civilians teletransports to their jobs when they can't reach their workplace in time, hence they disappear from the road when it's clogged with cars. Due to this terrible design in the simulation, it's possible to build a residential zone with no connections to the commercial/industrial zones since CiMs will teletransport to their destination all the time. CiMs aren't necessary requirement to make a civic building function, they're there only to fill some place because the civics buildings will still spawn service cars all the time.

 

If we have some low IQ level and manage to bankrupt a city in the default game, then the game spawns lots of money from the thin air for free to avoid the city failing. Such a casual feature made for inferior players has no forgiveness, when I discovered this casual feature while starting a town with proper hardness mod (a must have mod, which make this city decorator more similar to a true and ruthless city simulator), then I stopped playing the game for good after playing it for 150 hours, it's an insult against a former city simulator player.

 

I really tried to like this game, I tried fixing its cartoonish graphics issue with color correction mods with no success, I also tried to make cities look as realistic as possible, which is impossible to do due to the tiny 4x4 limitation (which is inferior than a 1x1 simcity 4 tile) and I even tried to make the game harder, but Cities Skylines aims for kids; The game that's closest of being a City Simulator is still Simcity 4 and I'm yet to see a game which will take its crown as the true successor, a city simulator made for adults (my only hope for a true successor at the moment is citybound)

 

I usually avoid building farms like plague due to the 4x4 zone limitation, making the farms looking like community gardens, even SC4 did farms much better, a 2003 game vs a 2015 game and it still rocks after 12 years. A modded Cities: Skylines graphics looks terrible when put side by side with a modded Simcity 4 realistic and gritty graphics. C:S is full of unecessary limitations that could be easily broken if CO didn't focused on people playing with a potatoe, it's too cartoonish for a mature Simcity 4 player and it looks worse than a light modded SC4. Cartoonish graphics.. erhgg

 

...but I won't deny CO is a good company and that Cities: Skylines is a nice city decorator, their only problem is they're focusing too much on the inferior casual peasants instead of focusing on the true City Simulator gamers master race.

That's the point, a modded 2003 game simulates cities with more freedom and makes it look better than an up-to-date 2015 game. We can put dozens and dozens of mods in Cities: Skylines and it still won't do better than SC4 with 3 mods: NAM, SPAM and a basic terrain mod. These 3 mods are enough to fix some stuff in the traffic simulation, add some modular interchanges and make the game look realistic

 

Not everything is wrong with C:S though, I really like the way they deal with industrial shipment and stuff and the water simulation is cool, these are the only parts that impressed me in that game. I wish SC4 featured both

Man Simcity 4 / Deluxe was my Simulator back in the day, use to love playing and modding the sh*t out of that game. Simtropolis was also my Go to site for mods (Never heard of the other SC4 mod site)

 

I managed to find my old account on there and an old "City Journal" i did back in the day, sadly only 1 screenshot is still alive after all these years, the rest are dead.

 

Yes I built the city in that only screenshot below, I may of sucked back then but I just did what I did.

 

 

 

Only reason I stopped playing it is because my computer is too "Modern" for the game apparently and has framerate and memory issues from it not being optimized for my OS. I could just run it in a VM but that would be too much effort and don't really know if my Computer will be able to run that and a VM at the same time.

Ruined Skyrim with CC's thanks to the assholes that are the Imperials. Yodel, a delivery service in the UK, should not be allowed to exist. I feel this way about companies that fuundamentally and consistently fail to provide adequete service, or when things go wrong, customer support, like First busses for instance, I strongly believe their monopoly needs to end, forever, anyway back to the Yodel c*nts.

 

They are an abysmal courier service, and that is being kind, there is not a good word to describe them in any language I know of, and they have no viable customer support. Want to speak to a human on customer support because your delivery is late? sorry nobody on the phones, just an automated thing that tells you exactly what the bugged online tracker tells you. Well What about online webchat? as useful as a chocolate fireman. The only help I got was from f*cking twitter. TWITTER IS THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT! It takes them 2 days to respond at this time of year, usually it is jsut a day. So basically at least 6 people, whose ENTIRE job is to look at TWITTER and respond to messages and customer queries and issues, is 2 days behind. Inexcusable. I know it is their entire job ebcause they're not on the sodding phone!

 

So forgetting to put my parcel on a truck on the origian date first of all, then blocking me from rearranging to a different address until I got help from TWITTER! Then today they say it is delivered and signed for but I sure as sh*t did not sign for it. Either it is at the address it was going to originally in which case sh*t customer support and lack of competence all round, or it is with a neighbour which is a rookie error, I'll have to check when they're back. OR they just high-tailed it with my stuff. Something that has been reported by few to have happened. I don't care if it is only a few, even 1 makes Yodel c*nts who shouldn't exist.

 

It actually needs to be made into law that it is illegal for merchants, or anyone, to use Yodel, there is a reason why they are cheap; because they're utter sh*te. I would say it is the worst customer service ever, but there is no real customer service! and technichally I'm not the customer the merhant is and I am the merchant's customer. USE DPD YOU STUPID TWATS! I'd rather Doug f*cking Heffernan delivered it.

 

Last month they reportedly left a parcel on the roof of the receipient, maybe I should look there, or in a tree, or in my bins. When that kind of sh*t happens maybe merchants should take note and think "yeah, no not them they cannot be trusted at all, we will have to send out replacements and lose money"

While I'm pretty sure the roof package was fake, it certainly wouldn't be beyond Yodel employees to do that. Hell... I'm starting to wonder whether Yodel just grabs any old sod sat at some traffic lights and pays them to deliver something. Of all the deliveries by Yodel that I've had, I'm pretty sure only 3 or 4 of them came in a van, 1 of which was actually a Yodel van. The others were some guy in a Ford Escort van, with the rest being people just pulling up in any old car.

Actually with me DPD always ring the bell, but maybe I just live in an area where the local DPD branch is competent, it does vary from region to region. In yorkshire they're not great but West Midlands they were very good. I have cameras anyway so I see them pull up, previous owner was security crazy. Still not as good as one courier who I forget who actually called your contact number in case you cannot hear the bell. They should all do that. Regardless, better than Yodel, they actually get here and try to deliver, not leave it at a depot or steal it.

 

I did also hear that Yodel do hire people with little to no background checking or test of competence, seems to support what you've seen, so really nothing might be stopping a thief who has been caught and convicted 16 times working there. Hence my worry.

 

But yeah I expect to see a van or truck with "Yodel" on the side, if I just see a plain white van, or other non-descript vehicle outside parked for 15 minutes I'm not opening the gate unless you wave the package in front of the camera. For all I know you are just some guy who pulled over to take a call, or was going next door but miscalculated.

 

I was told via online chat that they will talk to the driver and hold a driver review, probably hoping I would reel back and say "no don't do that it's jsut one mistake" but I give literally 0 sh*ts. Plus I know with how Yodel seems to work the review will be positive and he will get a payrise and promotion. Honestly though if Yodel had chucked it over my fence then as a result broken the product I would be going direct to the merchant (as they have humans on the phone). I would be telling them that they are sending me a replacement, exact, not of "equal value" and they would not use yodel, and they would not receive one more penny.

 

Had I known they used Yodel I would have paid the extra £30 for Amazon prices. They do it themselves here it seems. Amazon Logistics, and honestly, they did exactly as intended, here on the right day, sensible hour, quick delivery, rang the bell. Should be the norm, but it is not, if I am impressed by the bare minimum it is a sign the entire market needs burning down and replacing. I can accept being a day late in December, but not 3 and not with this lack of service, and outright lies.

Amazon Logistics, Yodel and as of today Hermes are on my sh*t-list for their consistently incompetent service. I never use ParcelForce because they're hopeless. DPD have been great for me, but trolled my colleage by telling him his parcel would be delivered on Friday, failing to deliver, rearranging delivery for the 11th December without being prompted, making him jump through hoops to get it delivered today and then trying to deliver yesterday's even though they were specifically told not to.
