Some people, generally because they're sad, pathetic loners with more teeth than brain cells, have a propensity towards deciding that all pieces of road near their property must belong to them. I know of people who've had their cars keyed for simply parking outside someone else's house.

 

The correct response is to buy a pack of 20 Wall's frozen sausages (or suitable alternatives) from your local supermarket and return under cover of darkness with a hammer. You then proceed to hammer your chosen porky tubes of vengeance into strategic locations on their front lawn. As the sun rises and the dawn chorus rings out, every scavenging bird or beast in the neighbourhood will descend on their garden and rip it to pieces in an attempt to get to the gradually thawing meaty goodness below.

Once again Supermarkets piss me off

Wal-Mart sucks. I went with my 22 year old sister to get some snacks and she got herself some alcoholic lemonade. Got to the register and after scanning everything she scans the lemonade. It has to be authorized as usual. This ugly 300-400 pound woman with red hair waddles over to us taking her sweet time and then checks my sister's ID. All good, like usual. Then she's like "Can I see yours?" even though I'm just standing there and not making the purchase. She sees mine and apparently doesn't know how to do math because apparently she couldn't realize I wasn't 21 even after being given the date on my ID. And like a jackass, she inserts my info into the computer like I'm the one making the purchase. Finds out I'm not 21 and says "Sorry I can't sell this to y'all" and I'm like "What?" My sister is buying the lemonade and she is 22. Apparently they can't sell alchohol if there is a minor present. Even if you're a parent bring your child to the store with you and you're picking up wine or beer, they claim they can't sell it to you. My mom and I have come to Wal-Mart countless times and have left without any issues after buying wine or beer but apparently that's against policy. If that's true then:

1) They do an unbearably piss poor job enforcing it.

2) It's stupid. You're meaning to tell me that a parent can't pick up wine for cooking from the store with someone under 21 present?

Happened to me with a friend of mine, we just went into the alco shop and the person was like "can i see your id" i replied with basically the same reply as yours and then was told why. It makes sense to a point to enforce it but at the same time no matter how hard you try, minors can always get alcohol if they try. She probably didn't meant to annoy you, just

1. It saves her ass in case anything happens

2. Saves the company's ass as well in case again anything happens.

 

It does become irritating but at the same time it makes sense, most companies usually don't ask unless the someone that is with them looks in the adolescent range.

So under that logic no one would be able to buy cigarettes or razors if by some chance you had a child with you.

Traditionally, young children wait outside if someone else is buying the restricted product for them. It is not common for them to be stood next to the person illegally buying things for them

When GTA V for PC came out I got asked for ID in a supermarket when i tried to buy it. I do not look young, I am over 18 and the the person did not worry about the beer i was buying along with the game.

I actually asked the member of staff in they were taking the piss (I was in a suit as was on way home from work). She quickly retracted the request but I told her to stick the game up her arse and told her if she was unable to tell that I was an adult then she should not be responsible for restricted items. I also told her also I had no intention of buying anything else and she could put the rest of the products back on the shelves.

 

People need to be punished for being stupid,

Um, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If the person making the purchase is over 21 then it really shouldn't matter. They claim my f*cking 51 year old mom can't even purchase cooking wine if I'm the only one with her.

 

And you don't know half the story, the lady had so much damn attitude when we were being polite and wanted to know why this was happening. Needless to say, we called out mom and she took us out of the store, I assume she got on someone's case, bought the lemonade, had a word with the rude clerk, and handed the lemonade to my sister after leaving the store.

 

Want to know why nobody enforces this dumbass policy? Because it's stupid. Me coming in with someone over 21 should not be a problem. 40 minutes wasted because of this dumbass policy, I had sh*t to do, the last thing on my mind was drinking some alcoholic lemonade that I didn't even know my sister was buying.

 

I'm sorry it's a dumbass policy, there's a new story on it in Idaho with about 800 comments and experiences with this policy and all of them were pissed off by it because it's stupid. It just is. It's Wal-Mart. Not a liquor store. Not a bar. People buy wine to cook and what if they want to bring someone with them like their daughter or son? They can't buy the wine? Well I'm sorry, before this happened there was never a problem and none of us knew of this policy.

 

And I highly doubt we would've made an issue if the lady didn't have so much damn attitude.
